I was quite pleased with what I got for the money. the room was clean, came with both a microwave and mini-fridge, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was warm. The bathroom looked as though it had been updated, but the carpeting was somewhat worn. The breakfast was adequate, cereal, bagels, and rolls. All in all, the room fit my needs very nicely. […] I would stay here again. Devamı

Dirty towels, stinky sheets and comforter. Sorry, but the sheets smelled like the people who run this hotel, now I wonder if they really changed the sheets before my arrival. And they charge you $10 if you ask them to store one small piece of luggage if you check-out but want them to store your luggage for a couple of hours.

90% of the stuff listed was NOT available at the hotel. The desk people were rude and obnoxious. I do not recomend this at all. There were also very loud people all night long that the staff did nothing about.

The hotel is well away from major highways.

Nice people running it. Very easy to gt to tourist areas and with maps supplied easy not to get lost

I don't know why this hotel has so many bad reviews. I had no problems. It was clean and quiet. I would recommend this hotel and I'm sure I will stay there again.

The hotel was in great need of updating. The wallpaper on the walls was coming off at the seams everywhere you looked. The shower curtain in the room had numerous holes in it --big holes! I pulled the blankets up on the bed before I left in the morning --and when I returned in the evening --the bed spread was pulled over the messy blanket and sheet […] underneath. The sheets weren't changed nor was the bed made. The bathroom was stocked with clean towels but the bathroom wasn't cleaned --there was debris on the floor. But the absolute worst part of the stay was the malfunctioning air conditioner. It was in the high 90's that weekend --and the air conditioner wouldn't stay on --and when it was on it had an awful smell --musty, and dank. The bed was comfortable enough --but it was hot in the room and the pillows were awful. I was very surprised there was a refrigerator in the room --and it actually worked. the picture on hotels.com was nothing like the hotel itself. Abandoned building in the rear and homeless people walking the neighborhood. Air conditioning not operating. Left the hotel and stayed at another. Did not spend the night. Very unaccomidating.

After reading many of the reviews I was hesitant about staying at the Homestyle Inn however after walking into the lobby all my concerns were gone. It is a shame that more effort in the reviews is not given to pointing out that the change in management has made all the difference in the world. The lobby was bright, immaculate and well appointed well […] appointed as were the hallways and most importantly the room. Altough it was over Easter weekend and not very crowded the breakfast area was well stocked with cold cereal, waffles, pastry, coffee and juice. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for very comfortable accomodations at an excellent price. Devamı

We were very close to the Lincoln Museum & Library, which was the purpose of our journey. Pleasant staff and comfortable room condition. Definately would stay again and recommend.

Bathroom had visible mold on shower curtain and tiled walls. Previous visitors towel was still on towel bar. At checkout, the receptionist initially refused to provide a receipt for additonal monies that was paid and refused to call the manager who "had worked all night." She indicated I should come back at 11:00. I live in another state so this was […] not possible. After the authorities were called, she found the receipt. This is a great budget choice weather traveling solo or with a family. Conveniently located just north of the downtown area of Springfield in what appears to be a transitory neighborhood between the CBD and a residential area. The area surrounding the hotel has vacant lots and a few boarded up homes but seems to be safe. It's a easy walk to the Amtrak […] station and basically anywhere downtown, so it's a good choice for travelers who don't have cars. If you have a car, don't worry, as they have ample parking. They have a large outdoor swimming pool, which would be great during the summer. The spacious lobby is where they serve a continental breakfast between 6-9am each morning. The rooms have begun to show their age over the years but are well maintained and very clean. Housekeeping service was excellent. I had a smaller room with a queen size bed, table and two chairs, television w/ remote, refrigerator and microwave. Tub/shower and toilet are separate from the sink. Open closet had plenty of hangers, ironing board and iron, also a hair dryer. The room was small but well planned and very comfortable--ideal for a single person but not more than two. They have larger rooms with King size beds and two beds. I'm not sure if they really have anything that would come close to an actual suite but the addition of the microwave and refrigerator certainly makes these rooms more appealing for travelers with special dietary needs. However, this is not a kitchen and requires one to use the bathroom sink to clean up after yourself. Other than plastic water cups, no utensils or dishes are provided. A CVS Pharmacy is one block away. Closest restaurants are more than a few blocks away but downtown Springfield has a lot of culinary offerings. This is a good value and a good place to stay when in Springfield, IL. Devamı

The staff was friendly andhelpful. The room was not huge, but had a fridge and a microwave. Except for a small spot on the ceiling which looked like the recent heavy storms had cause some problems, the room was clean. There was plenty of hot water.and lots of towels. The continental breakfast offered a variety of cereals, fruits, juicesm and rolls. […] It was much more than I expected from a bargain hotel. I would not hesitate to return. Devamı

When checking in to the Homestyle Inn and Suites, I noticed a sign on the counter. "After 15 Minutes No Refund" This was somewhat concerning to me. I waited 10 minutes for someone to check us in. Not unexpected with laundry and other guest that need to be checked in. The front desk clerk was very nice and accomodating. As we were headed to our room, […] we noticed a strong odor through out the hotel. This odor was not as bad in our room. The room was small but it worked. The shower had rusty water when first turned on. A couple spider in the bath as well. The walls in the room were not very sound insulated. We heard guest through out the night, some were very loud. We heard a train every couple of hours. But that made me feel more at home in central Illinois. The continental breakfast was awesome. You will not get this at your normal economy hotel. I will not stay here in the future. The odor, rusty water, and noise did not make for a very nice stay. I would have mentioned something to the front desk but, the sign "No refunds after 15 minutes" came back to me. I would not have wanted a refund, but that made me feel like no one would have cared about the issues the arose during our stay. Devamı

The hotel is dated but clean enough. The neighborhood was fine and the location was great. The internet did not work in my first room. The women on the desk when I checked in did not know how to correct the problem, so I went out and figured it could be worked out when I got back. Upon return a guy came up and tried unsuccessfully to set up the internet. […] When I went to the front desk, the night manager told me no one else complained and the problem wasn't his. After establishing that he didn't care about my problem and my desire to have him correct the problem, he offered me another room. The guy who came up to my room initially brought me to the new room and explained the router for the new section of the hotel was different and should work better. The internet was intermittent but good enough. As long as nothing goes wrong, you're fine, but if there's a problem, the manager doesn't want to hear about it. Devamı

This was a very good value. It was close to the historic sites and in a safe area. The room was large and had all of the pluses of a much more expensive hotel. We would be happy to stay here again.

Room reeked of cat urine; furniture shabby and dirty; I killed two cockroaches in my room; toilet did not flush properly; rooms are noisy.
