We enjoyed the location in a more residential area of the city. The staff were very accomodating. The breakfast included in cost was lovely. Would go again.

The Duke Hotel is very reasonably priced for a Roman 4 star hotel and would surely command higher rates were it more centrally located. Don't be lured by the shuttle service - it can only accommodate 7 people in total and leaves every 45 minutes at best (to only one location.) Invariably we missed it every time but the hotel is close enough to the centre and the sites that even taking taxi fare into consideration, it is still very cost effective. It is also very easy to get to as all the cab drivers know it. The staff is helpful and the rooms are upgraded, spacious (by European standards) and clean. Breakfast is superiour to most. A few negatives - only one bathroom in junior suites and suites, poor television reception (seems like a chronic problem in Italy)and sandpaper sheets. In addition, the AC unit in the living room is directly behind the head of the sofa bed and there is only one central control for both rooms. Since our children were sleeping on the sofa bed, we were forced to switch the AC off every night which is not ideal in August! Unrelated Visitor's Tip: if you plan on visiting the Colosseum and Roman Forum either reserve in advance or buy your ticket at the Forum (it's one ticket for both) where there's no line at all. The wait at the Colosseum can be well over an hour. Also, there is a discount for European children and seniours but you MUST have ID. We didn't and had to pay full fare even for our 4 year old.

The hotel is located just north of the Villa Borghese. Its a 30 minute walk through the park to get to the nearest Metro station - not bad ar all. Although there is a shuttle, reserve in advance. It tended to be sold-out before we could make our way. It was 12-15 Euro cab ride anywhere. Very well maintained hotel, rooms are well appointed (although the mattress is typical for Europe it takes a bit to get used to). The front desk was eager to help, and we looked forward to Breakfast each morning. Definitely would recommend to others.

Exceptional hotel, would certainly stay there again. they also offer a free shuttle service to and from the center city area, though my wife and i walked the distance easily.

Except the location which is a little far from the attraction sites, this hotel is simply fantastic. Free shuttles offered by hotel do drop off or pick up guests near Spanish Step. Even if someone misses the shuttle bus, it's only 2 metro stops with one transfer. Service is excellent and the buffet breakfast is very good. Will definitely refer to anyone and will return if visit Rome again.

i have stayed in five star hotels al over the world and never enjoyed my stay as much as i did in this small hotel we stayed for easter it was excellent it was my birthday as we were unpacking two glasses of champagne and canapes arived to our room the staff noticed of my passport my age i thought was alovely gesture it was late when we arived the hotel arranged a merc shutle bus to take us to a recomended restaraunt the breakfast was excellent the hotel shuttle bus dropped off at the spanish steps every day and back again it went there and back every hour of the day till tenoclock the staff were really nice the rooms spotless

The staff was friendly the room was larger than we expected. A great value for the money if you don't mind the location.

My partner and I booked this hotel at the last minute, and was not sure what to expect. We initially booked one night only just in case. But when we got there, we decided to stay all of our 4 nights away at this hotel. Transport is great. In the centre within 15mins, but nice to come home to somewhere away from the hussle and bussle. Also felt very safe in the area. The film festival was on, so we also had film stars in & out of the building launching a new film each day. Even though we are not familiar with Italian film stars, it was nice to be there.

The breakfast is really good. The room is very clean. Nice area. The only drawback is you need to walk five minutes to the tube station and the hotel is on the hill. But still recommended.

THe Hotel really lived up to its rating. Excellent spacious room, great breakfast choice and helpfull staff. Food and drink in the Hotel was expensive but probably worth the indulgence. The courtesy bus system worked a treat. Rome is a must-see City.

Excellent service and at a price that would guarantee you only fairly average quality if you were in the centre of the city. The room was very nice and with a balcony, although not much to see from it! (situated at the front of the hotel). Quality of food in the dining room was very good. The hotel had a good ambience and would recommend for romantic breaks. With the hotel not being walking distance of the centre, they have countered this by offering a complimentary shuttle bus to and from. And when preferred, a cab came up no more than 15 Euros. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will go back!

staff outstanding,clean and quite, though a bit off the beaten path

Hotel meet all expectations with great friendly service. The location was a little off the beaten path in a residential area.

Hotellet har høy standard i forhold til prisen. Vi var kjempe fornøyd og bor veldig gjerne her igjen. Hotellet ligger i et rolig fint bolig strøk litt utenfor historisk sentrum, men stiller med gratis minibuss til og fra spansketrappen fra tidlig morgen til kl. 22 på kveld. (evt. taxi kostet ca. 10-11 euro).

Rolig område med gratis shuttle til/fra Via Veneto - gjør det samtidig sentralt.

Mycket trevligt hotell dock för långt från centrum. Hotellet hade ordnat med taxi in till city vid flera tillfällen under dagen som var gratis men det blev dyra taxiresor hem på natten.

Vi gifte oss i Italien och hotellet fixade bordsreservation, limoservice och allt vi ville via mailkontakt innan vi kom till Italien. Det ligger lite utanför centrum men de har gratis minibuss som går fram och tillbaka flera ggr/dag! Vilket lyckad resa!

De Duke is gelegen op een mooie rustige plek, oase in Rome. Betekent wel ietsjes verder lopen naar het centrum. De medewerkers zijn buitengewoon voorkomend en behulpzaam. De kamer wordt goed schoongemaakt en opgeruimd. Het ontbijt kent een breed assortiment. Buitengewoon aan te bevelen!

Dans cet hotel rare sont ceux qui parlent le francais. Le cadre et la déco sont irreprochable, la clientèle de premier choix (équipe nationale d'italie de rugby), mais le gros problème est qu'il est vraiment trop loin de tout à Rome et la navette de l'hotel vite complète (pas plus de quatre personnes).
