Monterey Downtown Days Inn - Monterey

I was lucky to find a room here for a one night Saturday stay. Most hotels in the area only accepted reservations for Fri & Sat. nights minimum. The area is great, with wonderful restaurants and fun downtown area within walking distance. The only complaint was the noise level from adjacent rooms and the price was excessive for a Days Inn. The 2 bright lights with sensor on the upper right corner of the sealing near the window disturbed me while i was sleeping. Otherwise everything is good.

We actually stayed twice within three weeks. The first was a one-nighter as part of a coach tour and, after the tour had ended, we returned to the area and chose this hotel for a further four nights. On each occasion our room was clean, the breakfast was adequate, car parking convenient, situated in a pleasant and quiet area.

When we arrived for check-in around 6pm we were in a line of three couples waiting at an empty front desk. We rang the buzzer but nothing happened so my Fiancee used his cell phone and called the hotel. The phone was answered by a groggy-sounding man and moments later a surprised-looking man with bed-head appeared from a back room to help check us all […] in. Kinda funny, kinda weird. We went up to our room- looked clean and tidy. We took showers (extremely low shower head aims water at about chest-height for this 6-foot tall gal) and headed out for dinner. Before going to bed I plugged my cell phone charger into the wall and made sure it started charging my phone. It did (huzzah!) so I flipped the room light switch off and went to sleep. Was woken up at 8 the next morning by my dying battery- apparently the outlets are connected to the main room light switch?!? Stupid. Overall impression is that the hotel is pretty clean and the price, although jacked up for the biking event that weekend, was still the cheapest available (by at least $20). If I had to stay here again I guess I would but I'm not excited about that prospect or anything like that. Devamı

It is a great place and location in Monterey. The only complaint I would have is that we did not arrive to the hotel until 11:45pm and our keys were taped to the door with the room #. A little scary from a security standpoint.

Room clean, location "Great" only down side, noisy room, thin walls listening to neighbors knocks and out side sirens.

We stayed for the second time at this hotel, again with family and guests (booking two rooms). The front desk was (again) very friendly, rooms were tidy and spacious, and you can walk downtown to Monterey shops and restaurants, very nice and easy. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and cozy, we had a great time! Next time we go to Monterey (i.e. whenever […] we have guests who want to tour California), we will pick this hotel again! Devamı

This is an older place, but is very clean and comfortable. One drawback is a minimal breakfast (no hot food offered). In room coffee is good. The hotel location was good. Staff was pleasant.

My only complaint was the shower head being too low. With three tall people it was slightly a pain, but not super inconvenient. The room was clean, the location good, and the premises well taken care of. Affordable and basic. Would stay again.

very dirty we found bloody maxi pad between sheets bathroom was dirty walls with poop!

Worth the money stay was comfortable, walls to thin! Peeps getting busy something one don't want to hear other than that it was pretty comfortable Ans affordable stay

This hotel had a great location and was clean. Continental breakfast was good. My only complaint is the website is not very clear about the limited parking. They have additional parking across the street and a couple buildings down, which was not very inviting at midnight after a long flight and a two hour drive. There advertisment says there is in ocean view,o However, this is not true. The hotel manager was very polite and helpful. Our bed was quite uncomfortable and both my husband and I woke up with aching backs. Other reviews state that they do not give you enough towels & the quality of the towels are low. This is true. Great location. Walls were thin and could hear the people above us walking, showering etc. Nice breakfast - cereal, fruit. muffins, bagels, cream cheese, juice coffee.

Hotel was good for the price. Only issue were younger neighbors making excessive noise.

Walking distance from lots of places but still very affordable. My particular room (two queen side beds) still had enough room for one, if not two games of Twister. Staff was nice. Breakfast was decent. All in all a great value for the money.

Walls between rooms VERY thin can hear obnoxious neighbors till midnight!!! Otherswise front desk service friendly and professional!! Rooms comfortable Convenient location

The hotel sure has received it's value from the outdated furnishings, linens and facilities. Our value came to a screeching halt at the "Continental Breakfast" offering. Looked just like eating breakfast at 7-11, everything was prepackaged and i had to finish making a pot of coffee to regret drinking it. Loved this hotel! Will stay here again!!

This inn was great for a one-night stay; close to downtown Monterey and also close to downtown Carmel where we have family!

the room was billed as ocean view but the view was primarily rooftops and hillside across which you could barely see any ocean. This hotel is quite a way from the water and back in the city.

Good room for the price and convenient to all attractions.

The rooms were clean. The service was accommodating. It was walking distance to eateries. The price was good.

The ocean view was decent, worth the extra 10bucks. The location was great, service was not so good. Overall, i would stay there again because the location is great and the price is right.

Great location and friendly service. Room very large with all the amenities. Lobby had strong curry smell and linens could have been cleaner. We were there for Big Sur Half Marathon (start is walking distance) but they 'forgot' about our late check out (standard is 11am). Just wanted a hot shower after race before drive home. A large group was scheduled […] to check in right after us. Would have been nice if the fully booked hotel for each event was given a late check out/in respectively to allow proper time. Nice Manager, helpful ! However, Not enough towels for 2 people, also, towels where dingy and did not seem clean, nor did they smell clean. Room smelled very musty, needs some airing out once in a while.

This is way far from ocean... we can barely see the ocean.. Bath tub is very small.. apart from that no issues.

This hotel was generally clean but old and outdated. The parking is not good. We had to park across the street in another lot both nights we were there. The breakfast is extremely simple.

We chose this facility because it was cheap & close to everything. It lived up to that for sure. Everything else leaves a lot to be desired. The room smelled so much like damp mold, we had to wash every bit of clothing we took, when we got home. The fridge was very loud in the room, the walls are paper thin, & you hear every flush of nearly every toilet […] in the building. We have never slept on a more uncomfortable bed in our lives. There was not enough parking in the lot for all the rooms they had, so if you arrive back after 7PM, you park on the busy street with time limits. I have stayed at cleaner, more comfortable places for the same price or less. This management must figure they will rent the rooms regardless. The location was near everything. Devamı

This hotel is older but still in very good condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable. The mattress felt a little saggy but I still got a good night's sleep. Would recommend that they replace the mattress in the not-too-distant future. The bottom two drawers of the four-drawer dresser were stuck closed. the location is very […] convenient, about a five minute walk to downtown and a ten minute walk to the tourist spots such as Fisherman's Wharf.
