I was locked out of my room, bed wasnt made up, no iron in the room, trash was still left in the room, and toilet was dirty.

The front desk people were friendly and the free breakfast wasn't too bad. The rooms could really use a good updating though. I booked a room with 2 queen beds and it appeared as if they were more like full size. The paint on the walls were cracked and pealing in many places, and there were several cobwebs throughout the room. The bathroom and shower […] appeared to be clean although the shower didn't seem to want to drain so water was still standing in the tub when we left the room. The hotel was clean, comfortable and met our needs for an overnight stay. It was just up the street from the airport & just across from Lincoln's Tomb. Each of the front desk staff I personally dealt with were cordial & friendly. I even left my pillow that I had brought from home & they had it hours later for me, when I came back through town. My only […] legitimate suggestion is that some protein items such as pre-cooked sausage, bacon & eggs be included with the breakfast for those wishing to avoid sugar laden pastries. I was very happy with the service and location of the hotel. The building was obviously older and well used, yet the people running the hotel kept it up very well. Thanx to them and you for a very nice visit ti Springfield!

This is my 2nd time staying here. Will stay here again. 10 min to Springfield Fairgrounds. Comfy beds. Quite neighborhood. The only downfall I have to say is there is a mirror in the room and when trying to sleep it can reflect outside light, with a towel over it, problem fixed. Would recommend to anyone. We stayed at this hotel for an obedience dog trial on March 30 to April 1, 2012. Considering we had three large dogs with us, the hotel was very accommodating and the additional charge for the dogs was very reasonable. The hotel was convenient to the obedience trial and local restaurants. We will certainly stay here again when we come back to this obedience […] dog trial. Devamı

We chose the Howard Johnson for its proximity to Springfield attractions and its price. As such we were satisfied. The rooms were clean though unimaginative. The location was quiet (it's across from Oak Ridge Cemetery where Lincoln's Tomb is located). The breakfasts were starchy and ample. Our particular room needed some major repair (structural cracks in the bathroom area caused the toilet to leak and the door not to close). It was really close to my expectations, nothing luxury, but enough to fill up my needs. If i need to go again to springfield ,I will go back to the same hotel.!!

This was the first hotel on our trip. We prepaid, so thought the room would at least have been warmed up before our arrival. Lamps had burned out bulbs. Wi-fi was too slow to use and breakfast was an assortment of high-carb foods that were not fresh. Overall, this is one hotel we would not consider again.

This is a very good hotel for it's price. It's not a luxury hotel so don't expect luxuries. (Some of the other reviews for this hotel appear to have expected such.) The room was clean. We needed an extra set of towels which were provided in a timely manner. Also had difficulties with Wi-Fi access and these were corrected. Two things prevented a five-star […] rating: 1. The turnoff into the hotel was impossible to see at night. Impossible. A couple of $2.00 reflectors would correct this issue. 2. There was no sheet with television listings in the room which left us flipping through the enormous number of stations while trying to figure things out. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this HJ. The king-sized bed was comfortable and seemed bigger than ours at home! The split suite was spacious. The Continental breakfast was adequate but brought a chuckle when my husband recalled that HJ actually began it's reputation because of the hearty breakfasts it served near train stations for weary travelers. […] Can't say this breakfast would meet the criteria of by-gone years. I love their free breakfast. Really good! And the total price is not expensive. I stayed for 2 nights. Much better than the red ruf I stayed in St louis, MO.

Could not have been more disappointed in our stay. We have stayed with you in the past and had a much better stay! Black bugs in our bathroom, air conditioner would not regulate, we had no tv for the first 3 days of our stay, breakfast was a joke...coffee had grounds in it, the juice had no water in it...straight concentrate and just overall unpleasant […] stay! Very disappointing as our 4H stays in Springfield at least 3 times a year, Horse Fair, State Horse Show, and Youth Chariety! Devamı

Great set up in a triangle shape! We loved the privacy and the sound barrier from the main road. Breakfast was great - it stayed open longer than usual hours for us.

The Howard Johnson motel in Springfield, Mo was not convient for shopping or eating...location was a little ways off of freeway. Everything else was great. Employees were very helpful. I enjoyed my stay and the city.

I've stayed at many hotels for business reasons & for pleasure. I was on the ground floor below "regulars" who apparently live there. The sound of children running around went late into every evening & began very early every morning. It was very difficult to get any rest, which is the only reason for staying there! there was a great deal of noise that continued past 3:00 am. The rooms are very much in need of repair and new paint. The linens on the bed were "cheap" and hardly fit the mattress. Furniture and bedspreads were old and outdated.

This property is really nice in 1975...today it needs a make over...Carpet to ceiling...Dated furniture and coverings...You would need several blemish sticks to cover all the nicks and scratches on the furniture... If you need a inexpensive one night stay close to Lincoln's burial plot..then this is the place..Lincoln is buried RIGHT ACROSS THE STR […] EET. Devamı

Air conditioner was extremely NOISY! The walls were absolutely filthy but sheets appeared to be clean. Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious (this was helpful since we were traveling with a baby!) when I made this reservation I had to put how many people were staying and even though I put 4, there were still only 3 towels available in the […] room. The lobby of the motel makes you feel like you are staying somewhere luxurious until you drive around back and discover it's not so nice. The motel is convenient to the all the Lincoln sites including being right across the street from Lincoln's Tomb. It worked for the night but next time we pass through, we'll stay somewhere else. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Lincoln Tomb/tour bus for Lincoln sites which was great! Overall, we had a good experience but the outdoor pool was closed by the state inspector so we couldn't swim and our room had a smell of urine? The landscaping around the hotel needs some updating and looks old and run down.

This hotel was only ok. We were in town to see all of the Lincoln sites and it was very close to them...it was actually across the street from Oak Ridge Cemetery where Lincoln is buried. Well, it was cheap. My friend, who convinced me to book this hotel and was thus overly enthusiastic from the moment we arrived, finally agreed by the second day that it was at least "dump-ish." She wasn't willing to go so far as to say it was a dump (but it was). When we arrived at 5, we were sent to our room, which was on the second floor of the rear […] building. We walked up the stairs with our luggage, down the corridor ... only to find our room was not ready (though check-in was at 3). The housekeeping staff said we could wait 10 minutes (evidently there in the corridor, holding our heavy bags). After a few minutes, one of the cleaning staff finally called the front desk and we were moved three rooms over and left to wait for someone to bring us the key cards to our new room. And we waited ... and waited ... and finally called the front desk. They sent a child (maybe 10 years old?) up with the cards. Fortunately, that meant we could leave the room, which was very poorly maintained (air conditioner held up by bricks, check. Holes in the comforters, check. Stained and peeling bathroom walls, check). Forgot to mention that when we arrived, garbage was literally (and I do not use the word "literally" just willy-nilly) strewn throughout the corridors, in the bushes (evidently housekeeping staff tosses bags of garbage over the railing and gathers it when they are done with the rooms), next to doors, piled in the grass ... it was appalling. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, and next time I visit Springfield, I'm going to another hotel -- any other hotel. Devamı

"Room" was actually more like a suite--living room with sofa-bed & chair, television & full bathroom, and bedroom (no door between living room & bedroom, not that I cared) with comfortable king bed, television & full bath. the hotel was nice, the staff was great.. the only issue we had was the room was cold. we try to turn the air down, but, the room stay chilly. and the blankets on the bed had rips in them. But, for the money it was not bad deal.

Hotel was close to fairgrounds for horse show. Okay for overnight. The rooms were adequate. Stingy on towels (3) for 4 people. No condiments for coffee pot in room ie sweetner/cream. Pool was heated and nice, but rules were strictly enforced. No family of guests were allowed; charged $10 extra for visitors. Forget trying to squeeze in a swim "after […] hours" It's CLOSED. 4 adults were "kicked out". Maid service daily was nice. Decent breakfast, only cold items served. Front desk helpful. Before arrival, I read positive and negative reviews. I decided to "risk it". I was very pleased with the stay. Because I traveled with two other adults, and because none of us felt we could sleep WITH some one else, we paid the small cost for a cot, and everyone was able to get a good night's sleep.

The Howard Johnson Inn and Suites in Springfield, IL had a very pleasant staff. However, water leakage on the floor from the toilet was a real turnoff. Didn't notice that the clock was set to mountain time when it should have been central time until the next morning. The proximity to where we were going was excellent. Proximity to any other services or entertainment, awful. The complimentary breakfast , pitiful. Cold cereal and pastry only. Our room had apparently not been used in a while, evidenced by the cob webs. The beds were shot. I had family in other rooms who thought theirs were fine.

Not a hotel, barely a motel but with a pool. Rooms are outdated, disgusting, and should only be used for one night.

We've stayed at this motel in the past due to its location and inexpensive price. NO MORE. This stay, I listened to screaming kids and other residents in front of our motel room until after 1am. I called the front desk twice. Nothing was done. The front desk didn't answer calls after midnight. I left this place more tired than I was the night prior. […] Staff was not responsive in dealing with disruptive and loud quests. The hotel was very affordable. The room was very clean. Parking was very close. Pool was great. Easy to get to and close to downtown Springfield.

I was very disappointed, the room was warmer than it was out side which was 97 degree that day. It took almost 3 hrs until I feft comfortable. It was not worth for the cost. Never come back here again.

The biggest problem with this hotel is a lack of service at the front desk. Both checking in and checking out I had to wait for a person to come back to the desk to assist me. There seemed to be only one person working and they needed to leave the desk often. The breakfast was basic but sufficient.
