The hotel itself was beautiful. The staff were pleasant. My only complaint is the bed was uncomfortable.

Upon check-in we were not given the deluxe view room that we had prepaid(we were given the side view of parking structure) they did move us but this was after we had unpacked and after the trip from hell it took all the energy we could muster to repack and move.....the 2nd room was nice but why we did get it to begin with who knows?? We ordered room […] service twice, both times the food was cold.......eggs, cold; meat, cold; breakfast potatoes, luke warm. And the service charge is included! Also condiments were not included on second day, ketchup and cream for coffee. Devamı

Hotel was nice and our view was very nice. I did not like that parking had to be paid. No breakfest included and internet had to be paid per day. The hotel did not even offer a coffee. The location did not have many resturants near by.

We stayed over a weekend when a wedding reception was being held. The noise was outrageous. There were people screaming, yelling, banging on our door, etc. at all hours of the night. If I ever still here again I will make sure there is not a reception taking place. They should've placed everyone staying for the wedding on the same floor!

I reserved this hotel to evacuate from Hurricane Irene due to their claim that the building has emergency generators. The clerk asserted that they had enough power to run several floors where they would place all of their guests. When the power actually went out, no rooms had power, A/C, or water but the elevators and emergency lighting still worked. […] I accidentally wandered into a staff area where there was full electricity. It was a really very good experience to stay in this hotel. I would recommend to other.

The rooms were very neat & clean. You have to notify the front desk if you want your room cleaned, which we didn't know until after the fact. The only downfall was the pool, the indoor pool and hot tub reeked of chlorine. Otherwise the place was very quiet & nice.

Had a great time on this weekend at this hotel. It was hidden behind buildings on the river and it was really neat, relaxing and very clean. It was a hidden jewel. The ferry ride was very inexpensive to go across to Norfolk . Loved this hotel and would definitely go there again.

When I checked in the desk staff were more concerned with their own conversation than anything. The clerk did not tell me which floor I was on or confirm the accommodations I requested. She did not even ask if I needed help getting my bags to the room. I was told where the restaurant, gym and swimming pool were and that was it. Not even given info as […] to the locale of the elevators. My husband went to the restaurant area for a bite to eat and the staff there was more involved with their smoke breaks than serving one of the few customers there. All in all, we will not be going back or encouraging anyone to even drive past. Such a shame. Devamı

Liked the location and the view of the Elizabeth river from my room. The room was clean and confortable. Wanted to check before 4pm but there was no clean room and that was around 2pm. Needed to use the rest room but the general area rest rooms were kind of very dirty.

A great hotel in a wonderful location right on the river. Everything is top notch.

We had a nice room overlooking the river. The hotel was nice and cozy and very clean. The only snafu we had was a late check in due to a festival being held that day. The management staff sent up two glasses of red wine, cheese and crackers and a handwritten note to apologize for the late check in. I am always pleased with this property. I have never been disappointed with the staff nor the room. It is centrally located to everything in the immediate area and the views are pleasant.

The hotel is absolutely wonderful! Very clean and comfortable, great gym, good food at the restaurant, great service. Neighborhood is very cute- I wish I had had time to check it out! I just wanted to mention one point of exceptional service- upon check out I was running late to a very important meeting and needed to print out some documents for the […] meeting. All the computers in the business center area were in use, so the manager herself gave me her email address so that I could email her the documents and she printed them out for me herself. Exceptional! Thanks to her I made it to the meeting on time and gave a wonderful presentation with documents she printed for me. Devamı

By the hotel being on the waterfront, there was an awesome view of the area. There was a walk way, if you wanted to take a stroll. I liked the convenience of being able to ride the ferry boat over to Norfolk and back. The surrounding area was very nice also. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

this is the only hotel i stay when visiting family. I am never disappointed by the staff or the hospitality.

The hotel was great. It was about 20 min to VA beach where we spent most of our time. The only weird thing was the parking situation. If you have a car make sure to sort out using the parking garage. It's an extra $10 a day.

Just stayed there for 2 nights, first we were given a room with 2 double beds when a king was booked, then the television didn't work, called down, they didn't come to fix it, went ahead and just went to sleep, the next morning told them again about the tv, and the room assignment screw up, then left for the ENTIRE day, came back at night and the tv […] still didn't work, called down again, finally had someone fix it, they offered 2 free movies but thats it, from the wrong room assignment to the broken tv for 3/4ths of the stay, we were comp'd two free movies to watch...super disappointed... This was a very nice hotel on the water. Great old town quaint type neighborhood. There is a restaurant and bar on the premises but we found a little neighborhood bar and grill called Logan Rayes Key West Bar and Grill that was great! A little annoyed that you have to pay for internet access at a hotel like this. You would think it would be included. […] Also parking is $10/day at the hotel but a public lot is not too far if you dont want to pay that. Overall it was a great place and i will certainly stay again if i go back. Devamı

Friendly front staff, Fabulously clean hotel. Room service was exceptional. Being on the concierge level the view was un-matched. The bed was most comfortable. The only negative was the cleaning staff, which happened at several Marriott hotels: They would knock on your door around 10:00 am asking what time you'll be checking out, even though check-out […] time is 12:00 noon. We usually had a blast the night before and are trying to get every last bit of ZZZ in. If I need a wake-up call I'd request it. Excellent hotel nonetheless. Devamı

magnificant lobby/ wonderful surroundings, room is on the smaller side but very clean, has excellent views over the pier and a lcd TV. and there is a public garage only one block away where you can park free after 4pm weekdays and all weekends - so do not need to use the hotel garage. You can go to downtown Norfolk easily if you have a car ( via the […] tunnel). Overally has the best value in Norfolk/Portmouth area. Devamı

Very clean, comfortable rooms. Wonderful view of the river. We had somewhat of a wait getting checked in (due to a large number of big parties staying there over the weekend, and the front desk staff needed more people on duty, but everyone was very pleasant and accommodating. I'd definitely stay again.

We were in town for a concert at the nearby pavilion. This is a great place to stay if you are there to see a show. Really nice room though we didn't spend much time there. The bar and lounge area is very nice with views of the water. The hotel is near historic Portsmouth which is quaint. If in the area we would most definately stay here again.

The hotel is b eautiful and very up to date. The only problen we had, my wife had, is that it is such a LONG walk from the front door to the elevators that she, who has a hard time walking long distances, had a problem. ( A golf cart would have been nice.) Other than that everything was very nice.

Very professional staff. We forgot a few item of clothing behind and were able to recover them the same day with the staff's oustanding assistance. There was an "ant problem" in the bathroom. Nothing overwhelming but bothersome.

We had a beautiful view of the Elizabeth River which I guess is what you're paying for. They charge $9.95 for internet in your room and there is even a fee in the business center. No continental breakfast, room service breakfast is way over priced. No frig in room. Fire alarm went off at 2:15AM, had to walk sown 14 flights of stairs, no fire but a malfunction […] in their system. We were allowed back in but it continued to go off for another 2 hours, try sleeping through that!! The best they would do is comp half the room for the night, and because we booked through hotels.com they would not give us written proof of this compensation, just the manager's name. We will not stay at a Mariott property again unless it's a last resort! Devamı

Nice views!

Room was very nice. However, we stayed on concierge level and it was closed during the weekend. Disappointing.

Very Clean and comfortable. Only improvement is that the vent in the room appeared to have mold around it that needed cleaning. Beatiful views and affordable!

The room was very clean with a great view. More than worth the money.

This hotel is beautiful inside and out. The rooms are very comfortable and staff is courteous. The views are incredible of the river. The only downfall was the on sight restaurant did have good food.

We have stayed at this Hotel now two years in a row on our way to the Outerbanks (from Ohio). It beats anything on the Norfolk side; it is in a beautiful historic city (Portsmouth), and, while not cheap, it is appropriately priced given its amenities. It also has a nice lounge and restaurant near the water, and you can get a table outside and watch […] boats go by. The ferry landing is right next to the Hotel, and it is a five minute ride over to Norfolk. There is a mall on the Norfolk side, but my wife has had two people try to steal her purse while over there (word or warning: someone nice asks to take your picture; you focus on the camera while one person comes from each side to try to get your purse/belongings..we have a picture of my wife quickly looking and down and grabbing her purse right before someone tried to take it...net/net: be careful on the Norfolk side). Overall, we are very pleased with our stay in Portsmouth, and the Hotel was extremely nice and comfortable. I have three kids, and the place passes the "kid and wife test" which is all that really matters when you are on vacation. I would recommend this hotel. Devamı
