Homestead Orange County - Irvine Spectrum - Irvine

We were having work done on our house and had to move out for a few days. The room is clean and the kitchenette is very convenient. I like having a full sized refrigerator and a stove to cook meals on. The beds are very firm and as many have commented, noisy. The Irvine Spectrum is very close and provides many restaurant and entertainment choices.

There is a Starbucks right next door but they close early on the weekends and are closed on Sundays. Bring plenty of quarters for the laundry because the front desk usually doesn't have change and there is no change machine. The pull-out couch is very uncomfortable. Having a full size fridge is nice. They have charcoal grills in between but the hotel […] does not supply the charcoal. o.O so what's the point? Devamı

Great hotel for a quick getaway :)

After I checked in I was told that the water in the hotel would be off the next day from 9am-3pm.!! The overall appearance of the room was acceptable until I decided to look at the pillows I was going to put my head on. One of the pillowcases was inside out and I thought that was a bit odd. I took the cover off and saw that the pillow was completely […] stained with yellow stains. There was a long black hair inside the pillow case as well. The second pillow had a liner case and when I removed that one I noticed the same type of yellow stains on that one. I could only imagine what bodily secretions were on those pillows...I was disgusted and upset but it was too late to do anything about it at that time. I took pictures of both of the pillows. When I got up in the morning I had to rush to brush my teeth before the water was turnded off. Did not have time to shower... I cancelled my second night reservation and moved to another hotel. Clean, bright and quiet. Beds were a little noisy when turning over, but otherwise everything was fine.

We stayed here while in OC for appointments. The studio is a micromini-apartment with a fridge and 2 stove top burners. Everything was basic, but very clean. Everything seemed cramped. Pros: This is very close to the 5 and 405 freeways. Bruegger's Bagels and Starbuck's are in walking distance. Not sure if it was pro or con: There was police activity […] in the parking lot complete with apparent arrests of four people one night, but that may have been because staff were on top of what was going on. This is in the middle of a business/technical area with a lot of offices. It is near the Irvine Spectrum. This is probably ok as a long term rental for someone without a pet. Cons: Extras are extra. We expected to pay a one time pet fee of $25, but when we arrived, we were told it was $25 a night. That is a first to pay more than once, and the room was not worth the inflated price. It doesn't include shampoo, conditioner, daily coffee or maid service. They are supposed to charge extra for wifi, but waived the fee because I was not happy about the extra pet fee. Devamı

The Manager and his Staff at this hotel were very pleasant to deal with. This is an extended stay property, so don't expect the typical amenities associated with hotels.

If you're looking for Room Service and Daily Maid Service this is NOT the place for you. This Hotel is like having your own Studio Apartment...and like having your own place, you must essentially clean-up after yourself. The Hotel Manager and his Staff are a delight to deal with and there are plenty of choices (Starbucks, Wendy's, Carl's Jr., Del Taco) […] to pick up something to eat--as well as a Costco 4 blocks away. After reading the mixed reviews here, who knew what to expect. Choose the hotel because it was convenient to my work locale in Irvine. I was pleasantly surprised. While hardly luxurious, the comfortable room was clean, up-to-date and well appointed with the frige, eating counter, microwave and large bathroom. I stayed only one night. Trash can under the sink was not empty and the room was full of smell of smoking that bothered me sleeping. It's ok for guys but not so good place for ladies. But the location is very nice near Spectrum shopping mall.

We had cockroaches in several areas of the room, and while the front desk gave us a coupon for a free night at another time, they did not seem surprised about our complaint.

Overall a good hotel. Didn't have shampoo in the shower, but easy enough to get. Maids respected the Do Not Disturb sign. Quiet. Friendly staff.

Had a kitchette!

Very nice experience, my girlfriend and I were very satisfied with our stay and look forward to staying there again if were ever in the area..

Although the rooms are outdated, it was as clean as it could be. The only problem I had was the bed. Hard is one thing, which it was, but soooo noisy. Each time me or my husband moved, I would wake up because the matress was squeaky and creaky and LOUD! Definitely not a good night of sleep.

Good for low price for business travel. Clean and no frills. Good location. Quiet. For future visits, verify the inventory of kitchen before accepting room.

Out side looked fine and the grounds. However the room was bad. It had a handicap shower set-up, fridge was off when we checked in and so I had to turn it on and did not get cold till we left the next day. We had a smoking room and there were no ashtrays, so we had to use one of the bowls from the kitchett. feel sorry for the next people. tthe matress […] felt like were sleeping on a bed of nails the springs dug into so bad. close to concert,great room great price

The room was spotlessly clean--bathroom--kitchen--frig. outstanding --the mattress was perfect for me-- overall I was thrilled. It's not a fancy place-- but has a wonderful feeling + the employes I met were very friendly and very helpful.

This hotel is a great and inexpensive place to stay...even for a long term stay. It's close to a large shopping mall with all types of stores--from Nordstrom to Target. It's about a 3 minute walk to Starbucks. It's less than minutes to the nearest freeway entrance. The room was clean...and was so nice to have a kitchen. Booked a NON SMOKING room for 4 nights. I was coming from out of state and checked into my room after 9:00 pm. I entered the room and was immediately hit with the smell of stale smoke, and extreme heat/humidity. I clicked the air on from the unit that looked and operated like it was from the 70's. I walked to the restroom, on the way looking at the […] numerous cigarette holes in the carpet and the cigarette burns on the counters tops wondering if my nice business suits were going to now stink of stale smoke. I opened the door to the bathroom and WHOA... the smell of bleach was so over-whelming! I thought, did someone clean a murder scene up in here. The smell of the bleach, stale smoke mixed with the heat/humidly was so overpowering and uncomfortable. Needless to say , the lady at the counter told me we are all sold out.. She even went so far to blame me..that I had reserved the smoking room. When I showed her my reservation that I had indeed reserved a NON SMOKING room she proceeded to blame Expedia.. I booked my hotel through Hotels.com./This lady didn't have a customer service bone in her body and I was sure she gave my NON SMOKING room to someone who checked in earlier than me. She was non professional and frankly quite rude and was totally oblivious to my plight. The next morning I was given a much nicer room by a gentleman that stated the new room had been AVAILABLE the night before when the rude one had told me they were SOLD OUT! The move to the nicer room entailed getting ready for work, packing up my things, moving to the new room and then heading out for work all before 8:30 am. Considering I had about an hour of sleep in the flea bag room, ( oh by the way... did I mention it was infested with spiders), I was not myself the next day. One additional drawback, as if I haven't said enough... these rooms HAVE NO CELL RECEPTION!! Most of the people staying in Irvine CA are on business.. no cell reception???>>>> Devamı

very good service. clean room with kitchen and refrig. I always book this hotel for my friends and family when they came to visit me. So they can cook and make breakfast in the room. very convenient. They like it a lot.

We stayed here one night to attend the UCI graduation. Good location and safe neighborhood. Very basic, just a place to sleep.

nothing exciting to report, just a good place for a good price. everything was satisfactory.

Nice room; big refrigerator; good size bar to work on the laptop and eat; comfortable bed; close to meeting facilities; SUPER PRICE and Starbucks is a 30 second walk from the room for your morning caffiene fix! I enjoyed my stay. It is VERY quiet, in a good neighborhood and I would use this facility again in a heartbeat.

The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but besides that it was a pleasant stay. I plan on staying there again the next time i am in town.

The kitchenette counter was large, making for a great workspace, and it was convenient to have a frig and microwave. The mattress, though , was lumpy and the mattress cover kept bunching up beneath me. The worst part was that the desk clerk somehow gave out a key to my room to someone else at 11 pm at night. Thank goodness I had the latch on.

I stayed here because I needed to be close to the office for a couple of nights and the Doubletree around the corner was full. This place is just a cheap motel really. The room was really noisy. Walls were paper thin, so I could hear everything going on outside, and since this location is next to a freeway with busy feeder roads, that meant traffic […] noise all night long. The shower has no pressure. The bed dipped in the middle and squeaked if you did so much as breath. The room was clean, but thread-bare. The heater didn't really work, but the Starbucks directly outside my room provided warmth via a few cups of coffee. Really nothing to write home about. I won't be staying here again. Devamı

Easy check-in & check-out. Starbucks next door. Major mall 5 minute drive away. Economy room with kitchenette. Neat & clean. Reasonably priced. Would stay again. Thanks! JR

Good value for your money.

I was quite surprised and taken aback when internet connectivity was not included in the price of the room. The hotel charges an additional $4.95 for a basic internet connection, if you want high speed internet, you have to pay ~$10.00!!! I was traveling very light and did not bring shampoo and conditioner with me, and was really surprised to find […] when I went to take a shower that there were not any complimentary bottles of shampoo. This is a little thing, but it is these things that brought down my satisfaction level with the hotel. I can honestly say that because of these things, I will not be staying at this hotel ever again. Was a clean and quiet hotel. It's a little difficult to get to because it's not directly on Technology, you have to turn on Ada to get into the parking lot. The room has a lot of really nice amenities to it like a coffee maker, stove, fridge, dishware, and cookware. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is in a quiet safe newly developed area quite a way south of all the main LA attractions but close to Laguna Beach. We have stayed at many Homestead hotels for their spacious rooms and self catering, and this was one of the best. Off the freeway with new noise.

The bed was a little hard but overall the room was great

The suite was reasonable priced. This was our second time staying here; We would stay again. We were in Irvine to see a concert, according to the person in the office so was a lot of the guests. It was still very quiet in the area we were in. We were greeted by friendly people, and were informed that they could make arrangements for a cab if we needed […] one. It was close to the Verizon Amphitheatre. Everything else was within 4 miles from the hotel; grocery stores as well as department stores and restaurants. On a last note, don't forget to ask for shampoo at the check-in desk because there is none in the room. Other than that I would recommend this hotel Devamı

Staff was friendly, room was more than I'd expect for the price. And was convenient walking distance to an outlet mall. Will definitely be back!

The hotel is not clean, in particular bath room. We had to change room.

We arrived late (approx 11PM). Since the door were locked to the office we called the number on the wall per instruction and an older gentleman came and opened the office door and started registering us. He was a nice man but he did not seem competant at his work due to the fact that it took a very long time for him to register us. He was also making […] irrelavant comments. The carpets in the rooms were not clean, bed sheets had stains and we had to get a replacement. Devamı

I was pleased with the location and the comfort of the room and it seemed that sound transmition was very important during construction. I have stayed in other facilities where I could hear everything the neighbors said or did. My room was very quiet and I enjoy my stay.
