Hotel Sofitel New York - New York

Got a great rate after the DSK scandal. Right next to Broadway so we walked to the Gershwin Theatre. Also walked to the SkyPort Marina where we had a dinner cruise. His and Her bathrobes is a great touch, Bathroom was cool with a see through glass shower stall. Extra amenities were a big help as well. I wasn't sure if my wife was going to get out of […] bed. It was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. ***** 5 STARS.. Topped everything off by walking over to Juniors for breakfast the next morning. Great stay. Devamı

The hotel is conveniently located very close to Times Square. It's on a quiet section between 5th and 6th Avenues. The bathroom was clean with plush towels and bathrobes. Complimentary water bottles, 2 per day. Hotel staff is very pleasant and courteous. We ate close by at the Red Flamer Diner (a few doors down from the hotel) which was very good food […] and affordable. A 24 hour pharmacy is right around the corner for any items you need to pick up. They have complimentary computers (and a printer to print off boarding pass) however some guests tend to take advantage of this and not respect the 15minute timeline. Faboulous hotel, staff, and location. The staff even tried locating me a phone charger.

The duvet on the bed was so thick and plush that it was incredibly hot in the middle of the night. Soft pillows, cushy mattress, spotless rooms, shower big enough for two........was the perfect romantic weekend. Every person on staff was accommodating and kind. Location was excellent. Rooms were delightfully quiet. In my mind there is no other place […] to stay!!! Devamı

We stayed at the Sofitel because of it's central location to our activities. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the bathroom was wonderful with a spacious vanity and a separate tub & shower. The room was comfortable and the service was acceptable. We would definitely stay at the Sofitel again!

We had a great stay at the Sofitel. We expecially loved the view of the Empire State Building from our room on the 21st floor. The room was quiet and clean. Good location between 5th and 6th avenue. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel NYC for two nights. It was our second stay at the hotel. We are regular Sofitel guests (have stayed in Sofitels around the world) and always appreciate the attentive service, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. From the Frette linens and L'Occitane toiletries to the gorgeous lobby floral displays, Sofitel never […] disappoints. The NYC property is walking distance to Times Square, Bryant Park, Grand Central Station, etc. and its bar is top-notch. We highly recommend it. Devamı

The room was of a good size and the quality of the bed and fittings were excellent. The location of the hotel is excellent. The only problem we had was that the room had obviously been used before we arrived into it. We complained to the front desk and were offered a new room and there apologies. I know it is a small point but we really loved the L'Occitane […] soap and shower gels! Devamı

I had never stayed at the Sofitel in NYC before, and I was so pleasantly surprised by my entire experience. The staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The rooms were very clean, spacious (for NYC) and comfortable. The bathrooms were roomy as well. It was an excellent stay, and I would not heitate to stay at the Sofitel again.

I would recommend the Sofitel and it had a great location as you are very close to Times Square and Fifth Ave. shopping. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and the concierge staff was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations on places to eat shopping etc...Overall a great experience

Since it was my niece's birthday and first trip to NY everyone in the hotel made it even more special for her. This was a trip she will always remember

While certainly pleasant, comfortable, clean and all the basics, I couldn't call this hotel "luxurious" or a "cut above." A couple of negatives: 1) I was surprised that a staff person just opened the door and walked in. She said she was just checking to see if everything was all right. If she knocked, I didn't hear it. Something wrong there. (What if […] I was in the shower or on the toilet, for example. 2) there was no coffee maker & coffee in the room--strange for a "luxury" hotel. We asked, and one was brought up (they said they had a limited number (!!??), but they forgot the coffee, which they brought up later (no decaffeinated). Devamı

A wonderful quiet hotel located in a vibrant area of the city. A warm welcoming oasis with a European flair. Well appointed lobby and rooms. Definitely would stay there again, the staff all very friendly and accommodating.

Such a wonderful stay with charming staff who went out of their way to be helpful. The beds are more comfortable than at home with ample plump duvets and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was huge and set you up for the entire day and a treat. I really cannot fault this hotel at all and would highly recommend to anyone travelling for pleasure […] or business. Devamı

Very nice room large for New York standard, great bathroom. Would have loved a coffee pot in room for morning.

We have stayed at other Soffitel hotels in the country. And they are really beautiful and newer hotels. The midtown NYC locaton is an older property but stil has the classic french style. The most important luxury besides the Hermes toiletries, was the sqaure footage of the room, by NYC standards it is grand. And the views on the 26th floor were sublime. […] I was traveling with my daughter on her first time to New York and it was a perfect location. You can catch a cab or the subway anywhere in minutes. Great experience and I will choose it again. Only negative it that in order to get the view we have to upgrade from our original room type to a King and sleep together because the room was not ready when we checked in but it was fine and trully a King sized bed for NYC. Brilliant food and very comfortable beds - friendly helpful staff

Can't beat the location! The bar is a little expensive.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Sofitel. Close to everything, clean and quiet with exceptional service. The room size was ample with a nice view of the city. We were especially impressed with the concierge service: very good restaurant recommendations! We look forward to our next visit.

Rarely does one stay in a hotel and concludes that it is deserving of a higher rating than indicated. The Sofitel-NYC is one such property. It's location is great - close to Times Sq., the theatre district and museums/shopping. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and competent. They took all of ten (10) minutes to locate a briefcace I had inadvertently […] left on an elevator. I hardly had enough time to worry about it! The building public spaces as well as guestrooms are beautifully decorated with tasteful furnishings and all the latest conveniences. You'll find both a tub and shower in the bathroom. Though we were on a high floor with a great view, the elevators were amazingly fast and quiet. We never waited more than half a minute for one even in the busy morning and afternoon times. My only "gripe" would be the breakfast in the ground-floor restaurant. While I understand that room service meals can be "over-the-top" expensive, I accept that you're paying extra for the convenience. However, I don't think that a bowl of oatmeal, a simple fruit plate and two cups of coffee should cost $57! Yet it did in Gaby's, the hotel restaurant. Needless to say, the following morning my wife and I had breakfast in one of the many nearby restaurants where we had a far more elaborate meal for a fraction of the cost. In short, I highly recomment the Sofitel, just stay away from Gaby's! M.S. Boston, Massachusetts Devamı

Perfect location - close to Times Sq. theater district, and 5th ave, Grand Central. Attractive public spaces, comfortable room, good size as far as NYC hotels concerned. Polite, efficient staff. The only 2 negatives: TV reception was not very good, I mentioned it upon departure (obviously not an important issue for me), I assume that it was 'fixable' […] and it was taken care of after my departure. The fitness room was out of cups for the water cooler, I mentioned it to one of the managers, who immediately apologized, personally escorted me to the bar, where he had them pour me a glass of water. I assume he also took care of having the cups replenished - ;). All in all an enjoyable stay, in a well-run establishment. Devamı

The Sofitel is a great hotel in a good location in NYC. The room was excellent and had everything that you would expect in an excellent hotel. I was very impressed by the concierge Rene who is very knowlegible about NYC he was helpful and made excellent recommendations for dining places and transportation options. The location was great, just a few blocks to Times Square and shopping on 5th Ave. Several restaraunts nearby. Very clean hotel, one of the cleanest I have ever been in and I inspected it very closely. Gabys Bar was nice, friendly service. The room was comfortable and good size for NY standards. Would have like a pillow choice. Only king size pillows […] were offered. The bathroom was very nice although I do prefer a locking door. Like that the bottom window opened a bit for fresh air. Good views from the windows. Would have liked a coffee pot in the room. Liked that we were given bottled water daily, nice touch. Nice work station. Comfortable bed. Good experience. Devamı

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would stay again. The rooms are nice size especially for a NY hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was excellent. It is very close to the Lincoln tunnel which makes it easy to get in and get out, that's easy for NY standards. The only problem I had was I had them valet my car and it came back […] with a white substance on the back of it and the seat and other controls had all been changed. I've had the car washed once and the white substance has not completely come off, other than that it was a great stay. Devamı

The Sofitel in New York is the best. This was a return visit which proves how satisfied I was. Everything was perfect from the room with the most comfortable beds and cleanliness (even turn down service if wanted).Location is perfect to get to all the important sights we wanted plus restaurants, shows etc. Even has a large bowl of apples in the lobby, […] which we enjoyed. I spent a couple of days here while doing business in NYC and found it to be absolutely great in every detail. The public spaces were beautifully decorated, including original art and lavish floral arrangements. All the employees I encountered were warm, polite and helpful. The room, though not huge, was amply-sized, with good clothing storage space, […] desk and little seating area, elegant all-marble bath with separate tub and shower stall, large flat-screen TV, and a very comfy bed with down duvet. My wife and I, along with another couple, enjoyed two nights at the Sofitel this past weekend. Everything about our visit was wonderful. We will return again.
