Great location and comfortable room. Very helpful front desk service. Buffet breakfast somewhat overly expensive for the quality of the food.

I really liked being out of the center of town and being in a residential suburb. The trams were very convenient and quick. Tram 5 or 24 stop outside the hotel. Third bed was a put up bed for a 12 year old child, but they found the bed very uncomfortable as mattress not very thick and it did collapse a couple of times when sat on! <10 minutes from downtown tourist area by rail. Which had two stops across the street. 10 minutes by rail and train from airport. Just far enough from tourist area to find decent restruants, and shops. Area parking available, but public transport was so easy. Hotel elevator was slow, but they have one. Hotel staff was very nice and friendly and everyone spoke English. The hotel is a little out of the center of things but with the bus pass or the smart card , great value for the money. Best way to get there from the airport is to go to the Zuid Station then take the 5 to Beethovenstraat, much cheaper and faster than going to Central. It's just a tram ride from Centraal Station, with the stop conveniently located just in front of the hotel. Supermarket just around the corner. Our room was very spacious and clean. Basic necessities were provided. What really stood out was the excellent service, from the time I booked the hotel to the time we checked out. Nice hotel with helpful staff and a clean room. A bit insufficiently soundproof, though, so it's a good advice to bring earpluggs. Close to the tram. I would be happy to stay there again and is recommending it straight avway.

An older and basic clean and neat small hotel on the trolly line and 20 min from both Centraal Station and Schiphol. Within walking distance are a cheese/wine shop, bakery, fruit store, meat stores. This is the second time we have stayed there; will likely do so again if we visit Amsterdam. I would have liked to have had a tiny refrigerater in the  […] room. Devamı

Easy to reach hotel fron Schiphol - train and atram to the door of the hotel. Receptionist was friendly, welcoming and informative. The room was excellent in every way apart from thr fact it was located over the kitchens and as a result our slumbers were disturbes every morning at 7 o clock. That was the only negative for this hotel. The trams stopped […] outside the door and all major venuse were easily reached on a superbly integrated public transport system. A baker's shop next to the hotel proved useful for a takeaway breakfast. We would recommend this hotel but request a room on the top floor away from kitchen noise! Devamı

My one-night stay at the Beethoven was satisfactory. Quiet neighborhood, convenient to the trams, tiny but clean bathroom, bed was MUCH too soft for me (but I was so tired I slept anyway), and the one staff member I had contact with was very pleasant and helpful. I was there for all of 9 hours, and it was OK for that purpose.

very friendly and helpful staff!! one of the staff can speak cantonese which makes us feel really good and familiar! they are all very helpful in answering our questions and providing help in buying tickets. We got really good value for our money. A great room, in a nice and quiet neighborhood, with the tram stop right outside the entrance and a lot of nice small places to enjoy a breakfast. Central part of the city is a short ride by tram, and an even shorter ride by bike, which also is by far the best way to see the city! They have a really nice staff and good service. The location is quite far from center and there is absolutely nothing happening nearby at night. The internet use is too expensive. Otherwise no complaints.

Good bakery next door

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights, and were very satisfied with the hotel. We had a large room (definitely by European standards), breakfast was good and reasonably priced (10 Euros). Most importantly, the tram stop is within 20 meters. The tram service is very convenient - you never wait for the tram for more than 5-6 minutes, and it takes […] less than 10 minutes to get to Dam square, less than 5 minutes (or a short walk) to the museum district.Very good value! Very convenient location. Abt 20 mins by Tram from Station. Tram stop right in front of Hotel. Front desk people very co-operative & arranged sightseeing tkts, airport dropping etc for us. The hotel has made a great effort to improve the most important details of the room (bed, linens, closets, bathroom, towels) but it's too bad that the stained, worn carpets and the stained drapes gives such a bad first impression. As I walked down the hall to our room, I wanted to turn and run, wishing I had not paid in advance for five nights. However, […] we were very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. You can't beat the location, and eventually we learned to not think about the carpets and enjoy the fact that the room was very spacious, with seating and a small table where we could sit to watch television or have a light snack. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel because we are light eaters in the morning, but the breakfast was very popular with other guests and there is free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fruit juices for all guests throughout the day. On our last morning at the hotel, the fire alarm rang at 7:30 am and we left immediately. The hotel was full but only one other couple left their room. Thank goodness it was a false alarm. At least we know that there is an alarm in the case of a real emergency. In short, the hotel is very affordable, and if and when they upgrade the carpets and drapes, the guests will have a much better first impression and be more likely to encourage others to stay. very nice and quite location the neighborhood full of all the stores, coffee and restaurants you probably will need. trams 5 and 24 get you to the center in no time, also night bus has the same stop. VERY good and helping staff, they know all about the city and received any of my question and need kindly and immediately.

This was a nice hotel for our staynin Amsterdam. The museum district was within walking distance and the tram stopped right outside the door.

We stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to Amsterdam. Location was decent - in a nice neighborhood on the outskirts away from all of the crowds. It was about a 30-minute walk to central Amsterdam; about 10 minutes from Vondelpark. It's an easy tram ride (number 5 or 24) to downtown. Hotel condition was ok - it's an older building (it's Amsterdam) […] - so some things don't look so new, but it was fine. It was clean, front desk assistance was excellent. Breakfast was not included in our rate and was an extra 20 euros per adult. But there is a nice bakery and a coffee shop next door. Also a grocery store just one block away. The Italian restaurant directly across the street was very good. Devamı

Overall, a reasonable hotel, good location (tram stop right outside the hotel), hotel room clean and in good condition, good air conditioning, friendly staff, but it is marginally a 3 star hotel I feel. Negatives were (1) although the room size was not too bad, there was very little storage space (drawers etc). (2) there was no refrigerator (or mini […] bar) in the room nor ice machine in the building and when I asked for ice at the front desk, I was told there was in fact NO ICE in the Hotel at all! (3) the TV was very limited, small old TV, only a few channel choices, even after paying an added 10 Euro for more channels, no movies whatsoever (paid or free), no premium channels such as HBO. (4) wifi access was very expensive (but free at the coffee shop next door). (5) the shower arrangement was crazy: impossible to have a shower without soaking the whole bathroom. The location of this hotel was excellent. Quiet and near to 2 great restaurants plus 2 coffee shops with two trams for city centre passing at regular intervals. The location was very nice. Quiet neighborhood but all the conveniences necessary. Bakery, coffee, sandwiches and restaurants just steps away. The tram stops right in front of the hotel and is about 10-15 minutes into the center and train terminal. Accomodations were clean and adequate. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

We stayed with them for 4 nights and enjoyed it thoroughly. The room was clean and quiet. The staff was great especially "Achum" the night clerk! The tram runs down Beethovenstraat so, their is no need for a car. A coffee shop, bakery and supermarket are adjacent to the hotel. after reading another review, this hotel seemed like a good bet and it was indeed. The first train stop from the airport (Station Zuid) and the second or third tram stop on tram #5 (can't think of the exact name of the stop but begins with something like Gerrit van.....) The tram stops very close to the hotel on the main street so great for backpacks […] or other type of luggage. Then easy access by the 5 tram to downtown as well. A wonderful place to stay. The only thing I would do differently is get dinner while in town rather than wait until get back to the hotel neighborhood - it's a lovely neighborhood for walking and felt quite safe - just not the types of restaurants I was looking for, although the green grocer was wonderful for fresh fruit. Travelling with 2 adults, 1 teenager and a one year old, we had booked a triple room but received two connecting rooms at no extra charge. Staff excellent and helpful. Hotel is extremely convenient in great location. Trams 5 and 24 leave you in front of the hotel. Not located in the heart of all the action but close enough.

Situated in a nice area of Amsterdam South, traveling from the airport is quite easy- train to Amsterdam Zuid, then 5 to 10 minute tram to outside of hotel. Cafe next door, supermarket 2 minute walk and high class shopping located up and down the street. Staff were very friendly and pleased to help. Location was great, next to the Tram station and 5-10 min. Tram drive from center, yet not noisy as the center could be. The hotel staff service was wonderful! Breakfast was good too. We would definitely get back in our next stay.

A very friendly receptionist gave us maps and directed us to the attractions in amsterdam. We booked in and was pleasantly surprised with the room space. Good bathroom space aswell. 10 minutes tram ride from city centre. clean, friendly and welcoming. All staff helpful and efficient. very highly recommended and we will use this hotel again on our return to Amsterdam. Breakfast is reasonable value and tea, coffee and cool water are on tap.

This is a nice hotel and even though I used a discount, I will definitely consider staying here again. I especially liked the quiet location yet closeness to museums and parks; and when visiting with my family in the future I will stay in this area ( very possibly this hotel ) as opposed to the not-so-calm Centrum area.

Hôtel confortable, situé juste en face d'un arrêt de tramway permettant de se rendre dans le centre-ville d'Amsterdam en 10-15 minutes. Les principaux musées sont accessibles à pied. Le personnel est sympathique.

Hotellet ligger litt utenfor sentrum av Amsterdam, men trikkene 5 og 24 går hvert 5. minutt rett utenfor hotellet, så dette er ikke noe problem, da disse går helt til midnatt (eller rett før midnatt). Strøket er veldig bra, med noen butikker og cafeer nedover gaten der det ligger. Hotellet var spotless da vi kom: ingenting å utsette på renholdet overhodet. […] Gode senger og generelt god standard, og god oppvarming (vi var der i februar, en helg det var skikkelig kaldt i Amsterdam). Det virker som hotellet var oppusset ganske nylig, med forholdsvis nye teppegulv og verdens deiligste dusj. TV på rommet med noen engelske kanaler, så greit å se litt på TV også. Eneste aber var baksiden av det å ligge rett ved en trikkestopp: det var litt støy fra trikkene som gikk forbi. Men alt i alt et kjempebra alternativ for pengene. Devamı

A garagem do hotel fica muito longe (4 pontos de ônibus para voltar), mas consegui estacionar nas proximidades por 20 euros por uma noite. Há transporte (ônibus) em frente ao hotel. Cama muito confortável

Het hotel staat in Oud Zuid op een prachtige plek, met twee tramlijnen voor de deur die je zo naar het echte centrum in brengen. Dat leidt, als je aan de voorkant zit, wel tot voortdurend straatrumoer (ook 's nachts), maar dat hoort nu eenmaal bij de grote stad. Het hotel zelf heeft wat last van achterstallig onderhoud, maar het personeel is vriendelijk […] en behulpzaam. Het ontbijt kan je beter overslaan: er zit een goeie bakker onder het hotel en 100m verderop zit een Albert Heijn. We hebben er met z'n drieën en gedurende drie nachten een plezierig verblijf gehad. Helaas is er onder dit hotel een slagerij gevestigd. Daardoor kun je bijna de hele dag horen hoe het vlees gekapt wordt. Het is het equivalent van logeren in een hotel waar constant verbouwingslawaai is. Onder het balkon van mijn slaapkamer bevond zich de rookruimte van de slagerij. Daardoor kon je tussen 7 en 8 in de morgen al "'genieten'" van alle […] gesprekken van de vele personeelsleden die onder onze raam aan het roken waren. Heel veel lawaai dus. Gordijnen in de hal zijn erg oud. De ingang, het trappenhuis en hal van het hotel doen aan als een oud Duits hotel. Een slecht hotel dus, die de naam Hampshire niet zou moeten dragen. Hampshire hotels hebben over het algemeen veel meer qualiteit en verzorging. Jammer want de omgeving waar het hotel gevestigd is, is ontzettend leuk en mooi. Devamı

Hyvä hotelli, palvelu oli hyvää ja huone oli siisti, hyvät kulkuyhteydet keskustaan. Ainoat miinukset tulee, että huoneissa ei ollut langatonta nettiä, vaan aulassa toimi ilmainen langaton netti. Toinen miinus tulee siitä, että itselläni huone oli kadunpuolella, joten autojen ja ratikoiden äänet kuuluivat suht. selkeästi.
