for a cheap hotel that is average this is it....only warning is if you have luggage...make sure to pack light arriving to hotel you will find no elevators to get to reception since is on second floor to get there you will find you will have to climb up the marble stairs then climb up again to get to the elevator to find it to be very small maybe one person and two luggage at the time. we stayed Oct 14, 2009 weather was cool but room seemed a little humid. other than that the room was good considering its walking distance to termini station.

I wish I could rate this hotel higher, but I draw the line when I find a cockroach. My wife and I were able to check in early, which was great. We dropped off our bags, used the restroom and went out to do some touring. When we came back about six hours later the room smelled of sewer gas. We realized that, after using the restroom, we'd left the drain plug in the sink up (it was down when we initially came into the room) after washing our hands. We were able to put the plug back down and turn on the fan in the bathroom, which eventually got rid of the smell. Because the plug was down when we came into the room initially, it seems the hotel staff new about the problem, but we weren't made aware of it until we found out for ourselves. When we came back after dinner that night we found a large cockroach on the wall near the bed. I don't know much about cockroaches, but it was rather disgusting. On the plus side, the hotel was ideally located for being close to the train station. There was a very good restaurant just east of the hotel. The staff was very friendly.

We liked the location of the hotel, it was an easy walk from the rail station with luggage and a convenient walk to all the sites you may want to see in Room. However, you had to drag your luggage up two floors before you could use an elevator to your room. I don't know if our room was smaller than most, but it only had just enough room to walk around the bed. Even by European standards, you better like it "cosy" or at least not plan to be in your room (or shower!) long.

clean, but to high on what they offer. near the train station makes it convenient. price compare to other local hotels is very high. there are much better hotels for much less price.I do not recomand this hotel with this price rate to anyone.

I will definitely go back. Rome and Vatikan are just amazing. I liked hotel Lirica. Close to the centre. Just next time I will go for something with a gym and pool. But everything you need - for the reasonable price - you will get in this hotel. Good restaurants around..:)))

The Lirico was great! Location as specified in details, great staff, great rooms!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. It is very clean with a great breakfast, and very close to the subway, buses, and main train station.

this hotel was clean and one of the better priced hotels we found in Rome. The location was dark and dicey, without very many nice restaurants or shopping areas nearby. The staff was very nice. The breakfast marginal. The Lirico served its purpose, but this is more of a place to stay in as a last resort or if they offered you an irresistable deal.

The shower is extremely small. It did have air conditioning which is rare in Europe.

The Lirico was a nice mid-range hotel. My only complaint was that the beds were rock hard. Given that we were in Rome, I thought we had a marble slab instead of a matress. Other than that, the rooms were clean, the staff helpful and the location near the Termini station is great. I would stay there again despite my back's objections.

The hotel entrance and stairs were being decorated at the time of the visit so the initial appearance was scruffy, but then they have to decorate at some point. Reception was friendly - we did have to wait for the room but we were a little early and they made best efforts to get it ready for us. The room and bathroom were clean. The breakfast was good. This hotel was more than adequate for what we wanted ie a one night stay. I might look for a better location if I was staying for a full week.

The hotel was right next to the train station, which was very convenient for us when coming via train from Venice. The price is very reasonable for bare minimum to survive. The staff was helpful as well. The scooter shop is very close by and a great way to see all of Rome (limited walking)!! Would definitely recommend as it was very very reasonable compared to everything else. Also, the free morning breakfast was really good as well.

Not very close to the things you came to Rome to see, the Hotel Lirico was a nice room in a bad part of town. Although undergoing construction that necessitated a two floor walk to the reception desk (temporarily located in the hallway), the staff was helpful and friendly. Full breakfast was supposed to be provided at a sidewalk cafe down the street, but they declined to provide us with water, saying that it wasn't part of the package. This was the worst breakfast in all of Europe.

This hotel was located a block from downtown Rome and was a convenient walk to the train/metro station and most local attractions. The hotel employees were extremely helpful with recommendations for eating and sightseeing even offering us an umbrella when it rained. The only down side was the restaurant was under renovation and not open. They did accomodate guests for the advertised breakfast with complimentary breakfast at a local restaurant only a block away.

We chose this hotel because we were told that reasonable parking was available. It was 2 blocks away and 55 euros a day. The hotel was also under construction and we had to climb a flight of stairs with our bags to get to our room.

For a business trip in late May I wanted a hotel that was centrally located, good value for money and with an internet connection so that I could work. The hotel starts on the 2nd floor of a building right next to the Opera, less than 10 minutes from Termini; the central station a junction for trains, buses and underground. They had a porter to help with the stairs as there was no elevator. The reception was more like a cupboard, but was functional, friendly and knowledgeable about Rome, transport and places to eat. The room was very nice. They did have an elevator from the 2nd to the 3rd floors, very noise insulated, so I was able to get a good nights sleep, and were very clean. The only negative was that I choose this hotel partly to be able to work from my room, but the signal to the router was too low and there was no place to sit elsewhere in the hotel, so I had to find an internet cafe at termini. Not a huge problem, but defeated part of the purpose of staying. They were rebuilding the breakfast room, but instead of not offering breakfast they sent me with a voucher to a cafe nearby, which was very nice.

This hotel was located right next door to the Opera, and within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, the Coliseum, the Forum and the main train terminal of Rome. A train station was very close and this made it very simple to get to the Vatican. The personnel at the hotel were friendly and made recommendations on local restaurants, which were wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location and neighborhood were very good. The room was larger than expected. Room was clean. But the bed was very uncomfortable. Staff was helpful, but very limited English.

The hotel was just as we pictured it. The only problem was that you had to climb a stairway to get to it. The desk was always helpful and everyone spoke great english. We only had a few days in Rome and they helped us get the most out of it. It was close to the train terminal and metro stations. It was within walking distance of the Trevi, which was our first stop. They arranged an open top, hop on and hop off bus tour that we would highly recommend. The 1st stop was right down the street. The price was right and so was the location. Would stay there if we were to return to Rome.

Hotel itself was very basic, as you would expect in a City hotel.... But dont let that put you off, the hotel was very nice and the staff were very friendly i would definatlly go back. The location was the best aspect for me, we were a 25 miniute walk from the coloseum and a 15 miniute walk from the main shopping street "via del corso" and on the way to the shops if you take the right route (Under the long tunnel) you will pass the Tervi fountin which was deffinatlly the best attraction of our break. Very Romantic!

Extremely clean, reasonably priced hotel in excellent location near the train station. Good walkers can walk throughout Rome from this location. Very helpful staff. We would stay at the Hotel Lirico again.

A great hotel for the money. Good breakfast. Great concierge service. Air-conditioning was much appreciated. Located in a terrific, safe area, walking distance to almost everywhere. Concierge was very helpful in setting up tours, recommending restaurants and providing directions and maps of the area.

Litet hotell med bra läge. Gångavstånd till Termini, Colloseum, Spanska trappan, Fontana di Trevi. Vi stannade bara i två nätter. Vid en längre vistelse hade rummet möjligen upplevts som väl litet och trångt.

Hotellet har heis, MEN først må du gå opp 20 trappetrinn, OG når du kommer opp i resepsjonen, MÅ du gå opp fire trappetrinn for å komme til heisen, OG den er liten. Vi reiste med en person som har hofte og kneprotese og det var ikke lett for henne å komme opp og ned. Hun går ikke med krykker! Ellers: God frokost, lite og koselig hotell, men med små rom.

Nice hotell at a nice price

Vi bodde endast en natt så detta hotell passade oss bra då det ligger väldigt centralt. Servicen var jättebra. Vi fick frukost tidigt trots att den inte var öppen än. Rummet vi hade var dock i det minsta laget. Men ett helt ok hotell för en eller två nätter.

Et lille centralt beliggende hotel lige ved Operaen med udsigt til pladsen foran. Rent og pænt med små; men velindrettede værelser. Venlig betjening og god morgenmad. Ikke velegnet til handicappede da hotellet liger på første sal op af en stejl trappe, hvor man selv skal bære sin kuffert.

Besøkte Roma i to dager med ett barn på 3 1/2 år. Til det var hotellet perfekt. Kort avstand til attraksjonene, jernbanen og metroen. Hyggelig personale. Ok frokost. Grei standard på rommet.

A parkolás szállóvendégeknek 30 Euro/nap, nem olcsó, de legalább van parkolója. Bár a bejárata nagyon keskeny volt... A reggeli nem állt túl nagy választékból. A hotel állapota kívülről nem túl biztató, de a szoba tiszta és szép volt. Recepciósok kedvesek voltak.

Good location, very near to TERMINI train Station, very kind staff, great room, clean and suitable. One small defect? Quite poor breakfast.

I travel a lot to rome and been in different places. But this place was better then most of the hotels I stood in. The price was awesome!!!

Un albergo facilmente raggiungibile dalla stazione Termini, ideale per chi viaggia per lavoro, forse dovrebbe attrezzarsi con connessione wifi per i pc. Pulito, il personale del Hotel cortese, le camere accoglienti.

Særdeles rent og pænt. Værelse i rigtig flot stand. Dog mørkt værelse. Ingen restaurant på hotellet - men der er masser i området.

Wir konnten den fünftägigen Aufenthalt sehr genießen. Das Hotel liegt sehr gut gelegen, da man es zu Fuß vom Bahnhof in ca. 8 Minuten erreichen kann und eine andere Metrostation höchstens 4 Minuten vom Hotel entfernt liegt. Außerdem sehr praktisch: Der Supermarkt direkt neben dem Hotel, in dem man sich preisgünstig mit Lebensmitteln für den Tag eindecken kann. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hat einem ein geradezu familiäres Gefühl vermitteln können und uns mit guten Tipps den Romaufenthalt erleichert. Weiterhin waren die Zimmer und der Rest des Hotels sehr sauber. Die Matratzen sind angenehm und die Duschen funktionieren einwandfrei ohne die Temperatur zu wechseln wie in vielen anderen Hotels. Das Hotel ist insgesamt recht klein und die Zimmergröße ist angemessen. Sollte ich wieder nach Rom fliegen, werde ich mich bemühen, wieder dieses Hotel zu bekommen.

Hotellet er lite og sjarmerende og med en behagelig atmosfære, og vi fikk meget god service av betjeningen. Det ligger i et rolig og bra strøk like ved operaen. Det er lett å ta seg fram og tilbake til hotellet både til fots og ved bruk av metro. Det er også kort vei til Termini jernbanestasjon. Det finnes flere ok spisesteder i nærheten.

Et godt hotel midt i Rom lige ved operaen og tæt på stationen Der er fin betjening og god morgenmad Eneste minus at der ikke er elevator op til hotellet

maj 2008 var vi 4 dage i Rom og havde valgt at bo på Hotel Lirico. Hotellet er særdeles praktisk placeret i gåafstand fra Termini (hovedbanegården) men alligevel kun 15 min. gang fra fx Den Spanske Trappe. Personalet er fantastisk venligt, og værelserne er fine. Eneste minus for os var, at man var ved at restaurere morgenmadsrestauranten, og vi måtte derfor - udstyret med madbilletter fra hotellet - ud for at spise morgenmad et andet sted, og det var mildt sagt ikke noget enestående. Man fik en kop kaffe, en dåse yoghurt og en fed croissant, og det var så dét. Vi glæder os til at komme igen - når morgenmaden serveres på Lirico!

Central beliggenhed med gåafstand til stort set alle seværdigheder. Mindre hotel, men med god service og stor imødekommenhed. Værelserne har en fornuftig størrelse, omende toilet/bad kunne være større.
