The hotel location was great in regards to where my business obligations were to be conducted. The maintenance/cleanliness definitely could stand to be improved upon. There was a cracked outside window the manager was "unaware" of, a lamp that was for looks (not plugged in for there was no close outlet), a hair in the tub...we had just checked in. Clean & handy walk to Metro. We were going to smithsonian so it worked good for us. Lots of places to eat nearby.

Older building with no elevator and very limited parking.

We chose Travelodge of Alexandria due to it's relatively inexpensive rates. Unfortunately, we got what we paid for. The room we stayed in seemed clean, but due to the older nature of the room, it just felt unclean. You can tell that there have been hasty repairs and retrofits. The bathroom looked straight out of the 1950's with pink tile. The bed was […] definitely worn and the sheets felt comparable to a well-worn t-shirt. Great if I'm at home, but old, worn linens don't make me feel comfortable when staying at a hotel. As for the neighborhood, nothing bad happened, but we just didn't feel particularly safe. Instead of walking to the nearest Metro station, we opted to drive to the Park and Ride, feeling we and our vehicle would be more secure. The breakfast was the poorest spread I've seen in a continental breakfast. Milk, Orange Juice, Coffee. Two choices of cereal (both sugary), and bagels. One guest accidentally spilled some coffee and when the staff came to clean up the floor and counter, you could hear profanity and disgust under their breath. I understand it's annoying, but please don't disparage your paying guests. The front desk worker was kind and courteous and was the highlight of our stay. Ultimately, both nights we stayed, we stayed out as late as possible as to spend as little time in the room as possible. We wished would have spent a few more dollars and booked a nicer hotel. There was no fridge or microwave (I should have noticed that in the description). Everything was clean however the carpet was very gross. It was as if its been there forever and has had all kinds of stuff spilled on to it. It was vaccuumed & I think it just needs to be replaced. The air conditioning/heater system was very noisey. This was one of the most disgusting hotels I had ever been to. The floors were dirty, the walls were half-painted, and everything is completely worn down or poorly maintained. The bathroom tub was cracked and stained, tiles are coming off, and the wood trim is rotting on some corners. I was afraid even brushing my teeth here might even make me sick. Do […] not bother coming here. I had scheduled myself for two nights here but couldn't possibly stay the second night. For even $15 more per night you can stay somewhere much nicer like the Westin Grand or the Lorien, both in much better areas and superior in quality. Devamı

This is not a new facility, so if you expect a three or four star rated inn, you should look farther up the road, but for the buck, it is in a pretty good location, right in the heart of Old Town Alexandra, it is clean, if a little worn for time, and the manager has a very positive and jovial attitude. To me, attitude is worth a mint. The conveniences […] are at a minimum, but there is a continental style breakfast in the dining room around the corner from the office and is a little bit of a squeeze but a nice start. This hotel was a short walk to the Braddock metro and Old Town Alexandria. The hotel is close to gas, grocery stores, and restaurants. The room was clean but I could tell the furnishings were on the old side. The carpet could stand to be replaced but wasn't outright bad. The location is excellent. It's a flat, easy, straight 7-block walk to the Metro Station, which allows easy access to everything in D.C. It's also an easy walk to Old Town Alexandria, the waterfront parks, King Street shops and restaurants, etc. So if you don't want to rent a car and you want to see some great sites in both Virginia and D.C., this hotel […] is very convenient. The rooms and building are older and the bathroom is a bit dated and beat up, but the staff is accommodating and the rooms are cleaned just fine. Breakfast is very basic--cereal, toast, juice, coffee, that's about it. If you're expecting luxury, you'll be disappointed, but if you want something functional and affordable, this should work. Honestly I cannot count how many times I have stayed here in the last two years - almost once per month for sure. I travel to DC frequently for work near Foggy Bottom and having stayed at lots of cheap hotels, find this to be the best for convenience and quality. While the accommodations are modest to say the least, the rooms are clean, the staff are […] courteous, and it's a 5-10 min walk to the Braddock Road metro station. Dated motel with somewhat poor maintenance and upkeep but the bathroom and bedding were mostly clean. For the price, you can't beat it in Alexandria. Walkable to the Metro, free parking, easy walk to King Street and nearby restaurants. Friendly staff.

I stayed here in lieu of being at National Harbor at 2x to 4x the price, yet was only 5 miles away. For the rate I paid, the room was perfect...clean, quiet, comfortable king size bed, good heater, plenty of hot water. Minor complaints: noisy fan in bathroom, every single outlet so overused that plugs (like from cellphone chargers) FELL OUT of the wall […] jacks! Front desk was very slow, but interaction was one-time only. Parking convenient...right off the street, and there were lots of spaces each night even though the number of rooms clearly exceeds the number of spaces. Excellent value for the money; I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for no-frills lodgings convenient to Old Town or, with car, convenient to National Harbor. Bathtub was a disaster. Somebody pour paint in it a left to stink. When I asked them to clean it. They shake their heads... AVOID!!!

Unfortunately the bathroom cleaning was not well done. The night receptionist was not not very efficient, could not find my booking (through hotel.com) and made me pay a second time my room§ This issue was very nicely solved the next morning by the manager

Decent place to stay on a budget. Rooms are clean and easy access to the Metro.

The only thing good about this motel was its location. Very surprised how the motel passed City Codes (electrical wiring, etc). Smell of urine in the room - reminded me of a nursing home smell.

Confy Bed, and VERY convenient (walking) distance to KING street, where the fun is.

If you are not picky about hotels, the Travelodge Alexandria might be the place for you. Speaking as a non-picky person, I mean that in the nicest possible way. The Travelodge Alexandria gives you a comfortable place to sleep in a good location, within walking distance from old-town Alexandria and the metro. And it's cheaper than practically anywhere […] else. That's what you get. Your room will be functional and clean enough, but it will smell strongly of disinfectant and will not be nicely decorated or well maintained. The staff will not be friendly and the continental breakfast will not be good. If you are OK with these things, the Alexandria Travelodge is a good option. Devamı

This hotel is in a very old building, and is shappy and down at the heels. Most Motel 6's are in better condition than was this Travelodge.

We realised that we had booked a budget hotel when we looked at the rating of the Travelodge in Alexandria and it lived up to its rating. It has seen better years. Having said that, the bathroom and bedroom were reasonably clean and the maid service very good. The continental breakfast was basic. Chairs were a bit worn down in the room and the corners were dusty. OK for basic lodging.

if you are looking for an affordable, basic place to stay which is in a good neighborhood and is 15 minutes walk from the metro, then this is the place. The carpets are a bit old. Thats my only complaint. I'd stay there again.

I will never stay again. Very poor Internet service and TV was small and limited in selection of channels. I was not able to dial out on the phone and the associate could not set it up.

Front desk was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom I had was very small and somewhat outdated, It felt somewhat clausterphobic. If you dont plan on staying in your room much it would be an okay place to stay.

For the price and location, this was a solid option on my most recent business trip. If you're expecting luxury you will definitely NOT get it, however, if you're looking for a pretty comfortable room and solid service you should be pleased. If I had to dock points on one thing it was that the room had an ever-present faint scent of cigarette smoke […] -- even with new linens. I couldn't escape it! This is your basic overnight place in a good location. I would not take a nice car there, but it is well accessed to Regan and Alexandria businesess'. I have not felt scared even at night time walking to Metro or close-by restaurants. Hotel breakfast is "nothing to write home about" but the lady directing traffic there is friendly and efficient. Comforable and affordable. Meets the needs of anyone who want to visit the sites and spend little time at the room. Wish I knew about the free breakfast. I could've saved more money! Bring your comfortable walking shoes. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to metro or downtown. It's more than one block away.

great location a few safe blocks walk (day and night) from subway - Braddock stn. historic lovely area. 5 or 6 blocks walk to king street alexandria. got tourist ferry ino DC - 13 dollars. the layout of the hotel is a motel type with outdoor hallways but rooms are great and continential breakfast included. our room had two queen beds. clean, safe. great […] area, will use again. Overall the hotel was a decent place to stay for the price. The best part of it is that it is located near a metro and old town Alexandria. For those used to fancy accommodations or other frills, then you may consider another place, as it is very basic, but I do not think that you will find a better deal for the price and location.

Centrally located for our stay and met all our needs.

I'm surprised at all the positive reviews. Our room didn't have a refrigerator, microwave, our door wouldn't shut and the plugs were falling out of the walls.. Our room looked NOTHING like these pictures. And lets add to this, that my dog got bit by a brown recluse spider while we were there, so now 3x the price of the hotel in vet bills. And I have […] a dog, that the vet says I need to be thankful he's alive. And thankful it wasn't one of us that got bit. Also, had no idea about breakfast at all. Very good value for the area. Room adequate size, very clean and comfortable. Located in the heart of Alexandria, VA near metro.

The price and the location were great. The motel itself was just okay...a bit rundown and shabby. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was better than expected with bagels and cereal, not just sweet rolls. We would stay there again for the cost savings and the convenience.

We stayed for a week. Very close to Reagan Airport, a short walk to bus stops, the Alexandria Trolley, with easy access to the Metro Train System. A grocery store just a block away. The neighborhood felt reasonably safe. We took advantage of the continental breakfast each day before we headed out on our sightseeing adventures. We thought our room came […] with a mini-frig. It didn't. However, the office allowed us to store stuff in their frig. (Only the rooms with two double beds come with a frig.) We basically needed a not too expensive place to sleep. While in DC on vacation visiting friends I stayed at the Travelodge for almost a week the staff as very helpful and respectful of my needs on the mornings when I had the do not disturb sign up they left fresh towels and coffee. I will defently go again it is in a great neighborhood very quite the only noise I heard while sleeping was the firetruck going […] by. Stayed here 2 nights. Property is in a good location close to Old Town Alexandria and the service was ok but man what a dump!

When we arrived our room had the air conditioning not working. My husband called services for help and the clerk told us the air had just been inspected. My husband fixed it and cleaned the filter that was grouse (thank God he is very handy). The refrigerator was also not working and the clerk said "put something in it and it will work". Not a fancy place, but for the price, and excellent value. We tried to check in early at 12:00 because of how our day's schedule was, and the manager personally walked to our room to see if it was ready. Unfortunately it was not, so we didn't get checked in till almost 11:00 PM, but since the manager knew we were there is wan't an issue. Room had basic […] cable TV, fridge and microwave and was very clean. Beds were just right (for may taste). I would never stay there nor would I recommend it to anyone. The beds small and very uncomfortable. The bathroom is very small. If you are an above average sized person you will barely fit. Parking area is very small as well. Don't try to park anything bigger than a compact car. IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY I SPENT ON THE ROOM.
