Hotel Silken Juan de Austria - Valladolid

This hotel is located on a pleasant, though busy, boulevard leading into the centre of Valladolid. Walking into the modest, historic centre takes around 15 minutes, partly through the Campo Grande park (which has children's playgrounds). On arrival, we found that our booking had not been registered, but the reception staff were very reassuring and quickly […] resolved the issue (not sure how this would have been dealt with if there'd been no available rooms!!). We used the underground parking, currently charged at 12 Euros per day + tax (May 2011); the parking is down a lane at the end of the block. Parking outside the hotel is difficult (this is one of the main routes into the city). The hotel seems to be geared primarily for business travellers. There is nothing really to criticise about the hotel; it is comfortable, well-run, but unexceptional. We had a room at the back of the hotel on the 6th floor. The air conditioning worked very well (which is sadly not the case in many Spanish hotels), beds were firm and comfortable, showers efficient. Free wifi in rooms - though a little fiddly to set up; it requires a mobile phone to send a secure code to in order to get access (there may be a way around this if you ask the hotel staff, but we fortunately had our mobile with us). The buffet breakfast was reasonable, though the staff seemed to struggle to keep all offerings stocked, even though the breakfast room was quite quiet when we were eating - however, they were quick to replenish supplies when asked. Overall, this hotel was, I think, a good selection for a short stay in Valladolid given that there is not a huge hotel choice in this city. Note there are very few restaurants nearby. The Corte Inglis department store is across the road with a decent supermarket and post office (correo) in the basement. the hotel is on a busy street amongst shops about 15 mins walk into the city centre, the hotel is modern and clean, we ate at the hotel in the evening as there was not a lot of choice nearby, the 22 € menu was excellent and included wine, breakfast 12.5 € was good.

Unos dias maravillosos en Valladolid, pese a que la lluvia no invitaba a salir tan a menudo como suele apetecer en esta hermosa ciudad, Pese al mal tiempo pudimos disfrutar nuestra estancia allí.

Acogedor, buen servicio

Muy bien pero hubiera preferido que la habitación fuera de no fumador. No se me preguntó al respecto y se me dió una habitación en la planta de fumadores.

Zur Mess einfach zu fahren. Klimaanlage laut. Fenster geht nicht gut auf Frischluftversorgung schwierig habe das Fenster nachts gekippt und mit einem Prospekt auf-geklemmt weil es nicht von alleine auf der gewünschten Stellung offen bleibt. Frühstück gut aber sehr teuer.

God beliggenhed. Ikke generet af støj. 15 minutters gå-afstand fra selve centrum. Morgenmaden virkede dyr, - vi købte til en billig pris på cafe tæt ved hotellet.
