Mantra on Northbourne - Canberra

awesome apartment, walk to the civic in a couple of minutes, hassle free stay. bit of a queue at checkout time though.

When we paid $12 to use the hotel's carpark we were told a spot could not be guaranteed. What kind of service is that? When we paid $15 for 2hrs of wireless internet and could not get online, we were told it was not the hotel's responsibilty but they would get the internet provider to come in and have a look at it. Very convenient location, comfortable stay. However: a 4-star hotel really should not charge extra for WiFi (even 3-stars in Asia & Europe include this!). Also, in a place like Canberra, water should be complimentary rather than $6 a bottle!

We are a mature couple. We called the hotel to book and were offered an expensive room so we tried hotels.com and were very pleased with the rate. The staff were helpful, friendly and gave us a late check out no problems. The room was large and spacious, rather plain but clean. Parking in the basement very convenient. There are good restaurants nearby […] but a night club at the back can be noisy at weekend. We would certainly stay again. Devamı

Close to restaurants on the back side of the hotel - which means that there is some food nearby, but it is also loud at night as the windows are single paned so that the noise from the bars comes into the rooms. It may be better to ask for a room toward Northbourne. There is a decent restaurant in the venue for dinner though - so good for business travelers. […] The gym is not very up to date, but enough to get in a workout. We found the ladies on the reception staff to be very friendly and most helpful but the men were surly - they sounded and looked like they didn't want to be where they were that is, serving their guests.

Fantastic place. Nice complementary looking hotel... and great staff! This is my 2nd stay and nothing has changed over the year. Still has good service. Just one thing... wireless should be free in all hotels.

Overall very good. One comment: to charge $6 for a bottle of drinking water (on the bedside table and looked as if it was complimentary) was excessive

This is definitely not more than a 3 star establishment. After the dreary, stained carpet, dim lobby smelling of stale smoke, you get to grey, lifeless, corridoors. Our first room was a lifeless box. Then we changed and got a serviced appartment room - much more spacious, but still suffering from bad quality materials, old and stained implements. Although […] the parking is spacious, you often have to wait for other cars (people checking in) to clear the driveway before you can get to it. The building itself is just a big prefab block amongst other such things - at least it's just a short walk to the city centre. But there are surely better places in Canberra for the price. Devamı

An Motel for the family. Rooms are well laid out with ample area to eat in a self contained modern kitchenette. Good views of Black Mountain and Canberra. Easy walk to shopping centre and dinning. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Good dining avalable in hotel. Bus to door. A great place to relax and enjoy Canberra
