The hotel is not too bad but I would not rate it a 4 star in terms of its condition. I will only give it a 3 though it has a 4 star service and equipment. Condition of the hotel is kinda old. Location is pretty good as WTC is just located round the corner. Subway access is good too. There's a supermarket easily accessible and also some cafe like Earl's […] Court and Pizza bar. No complimentary water serve even though it's a 4 star hotel. Overall not too bad but not great either. Devamı

i would definitly stay here on my next trip to NYC. The restaurant in the hotel is very good.

The service provided by the staff was outstanding; everyone was extremely pleasant and accommodating. It is definitely a businessman's hotel, with western/cowboy decor, and no gift/drug shop, but a woman traveler is provided for with a make-up (shaving!) mirror, hair dryer, and robe. The in-room safe was appreciated for jewelry. The location was great […] with several subway lines only a few blocks away. My only real complaint was the lack of an easy chair in the room. Devamı

Great location for Battery Park, 9-11 Memorial and Financial District. Very clean rooms and staff is friendly except some of the front desk people seem confused about where the hotel is and how to get to restaurants, etc. in the area. Overall they are very accomodating, though. This is not a room for sharing with someone you don't know well as there […] is absolutely no bathroom privacy due to glass walls and door and very small space! This is a nice boutique hotel, but the service just doesn't match up to the room rate. The details in the informatioin pack are incorrect, the magnetic keys lose their connection repeatedly (I have stayed there five times and been through over twenty keys), and most of the staff have a detached, too-cool-for-school approach to service. We stayed one evening during the freak October 2011 snowstorm. The hotel is located in the Financial District’s endless maze of narrow canyons. Since we wanted to visit the WTC site and walk the Brooklyn Bridge, the location of Gild Hall is great. The feel is laid-back and contemporary. Not much was happening at the bar during our stay, and we didn't […] experience the restaurant. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The front desk staff was very professional and well dressed. While checking in, I overheard one of the desk employees helping another guest with travel arrangements for later that evening. I was presented with a map of the city, and encouraged to ask any questions about local eateries and travel during our stay. The hotel room was clean and a nice size. A hair dryer, bath robe, and designer toiletries are standard. A nice surprise was the complimentary-use umbrella, which came in very handy during our trek out into the storm. Don’t expect a room with a “view,” since the Gild is dwarfed by surrounding buildings. Since we drove into the city, we anticipated parking being an adventure. There is a parking garage located directly across Platt Street from the hotel. You can have valet parking service at the hotel, but the word “valet” always turns me off. We ended up parking in the same garage (valet service nonetheless!) and walking across the street to the hotel. We ended up paying more per hour of parking by electing not to use hotel valet. It would be nice if the hotel could negotiate a guest rate, in addition to their valet service. Internet is not a free service at the hotel either. You pay for 24 hours of usage, which isn’t obscene but charging for WiFi seems to be an archaic practice these days. Overall we were pleased with the cleanliness, comfort, location, and level of professionalism of the staff of Gild Hall. Consider this hotel if you plan to stay in lower Manhattan. Devamı

Close to Ground Zero, Occupy Wall Street, good bars at the W and Tribeca. Comfortable and interesting room at good price.

however.. this little spot is tucked away in the Wall St. area and not too easy to find. you can blame that on the streets not the hotel. the decor is what you can come to expect from Thompson properties. it is tasteful, clean, comfortable and the attention to detail is magnificent. the second floor den above the lobby is very nice and a great lounge. […] this place is perfect for business in the area. there is not much going on in this place during the week and the bar closes early. it's a little pricey for the experience, but i would go back. This is a hotel with great location. it is clean. I was there on a Saturday night. There was a party and it would probably be noisy at lower floors. However, as I was on a higher floor, it was great. IN GENERAL TERM S THE HOTEL IS OK.. ROOMS ARE SMALL BUT COUSY AND CLEAN.... LOBBY TOO NOUSY AND MUSIC TOO LOUD. It was amazing. The people were so kind and helpful. The staff MADE my stay so comfortable and worry free. They are the ones that need to be recognized! Thank you!

You would stay here for the location - the Hotel was so-so. I say that because the room had dark carpets and I could see dust that had accumulated in corners and around fixtures. Also the vent in the shower was filled with dust YIKES! In addition the tub was backed up and would fill up during my shower. I am a no hassle person plus, I literally only […] slept there and was out all day so I did not take the time to address this to the staff -- I am sure something would have been done if I did. But all that dust -- I never seen that --not even in the Red Roof Inn---ya feel me? Anyways Location is fantastic if you love NY but you want to own the streets at night =). Oh yeah and the hotel says they will get you a cab but you are better off getting one on your own--who knows where that guy dissappeared to. I didn't try their food --wish I had! the bed is the coolest thing in the hotel room. Oh yeah--also the towels were not the whitest- I did see a fading stain on one of the towels --only bc someone said they did in a review I read -- or else I would not have noticed--I expect hotel towels to be bright white. Great location, hotel staff was nice and there is a club/bar in the hotel - which is great if you want to mingle with a hip crowd...... Inspite of the club/bar in the lobby you don't hear the music in your room and I was on the 5th floor.

I love the welcoming atmosphere/ the decor and the people attention- make you feel comfortable.

The room was tiny but the amenities more than made up for it -- it felt cozy instead of cramped. Wonderful bed and shower, decent bar downstairs, uniquely decorated. Very helpful staff. Great price for the location. Very pleased.

This choice was made because of its proximity to Pace University and financial district restaurants. My wife's first comment was, "very manly", due to it faux club-like decorations. Lobby and restaurant/bar were very warm on this 98+ degree night. As a result, we chose to eat elsewhere, even though the menu items were appealing. Room was great! Small hotel on a quiet back street. Our room was dark, partly because of the decor. I suppose the theme is an English country hotel, but it doesn't work well. Restaurant is closed on weekends. Great place, friendly staff, comfortable room. It was quiet (a rarity in the city), but safe. A block and a half from the subway!

We stayed at the Gild Hall on May 13/14/15 and overall the hotel was good (we'd give it a 3.5/5). We checked in late on a Friday night and the front desk staff weren't very friendly, but did give us a complimentary glass of Prosecco for checking in on a weekend. By the time we arrived, their kitchen at the Libertine was already closed when we arrived […] (only open until 10pm on Friday nights), so we weren't able to try out their food. There isn't much nightlife in that area, so if you are looking for a lot of dining options or want to go out for a night on the town, I wouldn't recommend staying in the Financial District. The hotel has a lot of character and very unique decor, but the gym was a real let down. They have 3 "exercise rooms", and they are tiny! Each one contains one treadmill, one elliptical, and a small set of free weights (only up to 25 lbs). No more than 2 people can work out in the room at once, and it gets very hot once you start moving. We went to two of the rooms, only to find the treadmill out of order in both. Finally the third room had functional equipment. I would choose a hotel with better fitness facilities next time. Devamı

Location trumps all else here. Resturant / Bar spotty - Bar closed early!

CLEAN. Very clean room upon arrival. Good service but not great. I asked for a special request and was promised a letter to welcome my parents for their first trip to NYC but when we came back from lunch and rest at the hotel. I didn't see a note. I was a disappointed in that. It would've really made my parents happy to get a small little welcoming […] from this hotel. Other than that, the beds were REALLY comfortable. I literally just laid in it for a minute and fell asleep. I really liked the shampoo, conditioner and body lotion that were provided. It smelled so good! I asked house keeping for an extra bottle so I could have a nice little bubble bath. It was so relaxing. Only thing I didn't like about it was the see through bathroom door. Devamı

What a great Hotel. Clean and quite! The best for the price in the city!

Wonderful hotel. Slept great. Close to my company's NYC office. Worked out well.

I must say that I was a bit concerned after having read a few of the review on another travel website regarding the courtesy of the people at the desk, but we found them very pleasant and accomodating. there are some design flaws and I do not recommend this hotel with a child. Even in a two bedroom room; ie... more than one or two guests the bathroom […] walls to the room are made of frosted glass which you can easily see bodies thru, not to mention the amount of light they let out during the night for a "potty" moment. Not very private but somewhat chic. The reservation was for 3 people and there were only towels for two. Other than that a nice choice for a reasonable NY price. Devamı

This is a qualified "not recommended" rating - it was fine, just way out of my way and not a very cheerful vibe. If you want to be in the financial district then it would suit most people's needs. To me it was a little dark and depressing - also not a lively place and the staff was not friendly. I stayed at Gild Hall right after an extremely happy 3 […] night stay at the Soho Grand so Gild Hall's staff and facilities suffer from that comparison. What a great place to stay. The hotel is in the financial district so on the weekends and nights it is so quiet. They upgraded our room to a suite and wow!! at no charge it was so nice. Good chain, but this hotel was not one of their best. The service was superficially pleasant but essentially perfunctory and often inadequate. My request for an extra blanket could not be met. Room service failed to deliver my breakfast order. The room decor was bleak and depressing. The fitness facilities, squeezed into odd spaces on different floors, […] were miserably inadequate. The location was a bit hidden because of the way the Wall Street/South Street Seaport neighborhood is set up, but that provides a nice and quiet setting. Staff was very helpful and provided extra towels and bathrobes quickly. I got the king sized room and it was much bigger than I expected, seeing how this was New York, so it was very pleasant

I really wanted to love this hotel..and I almost do. This was my second stay, and I am torn between recommending it enthusiastically or looking for another place. The hotel itself is very comfortable and has a definite 'feel'. Think library and hunting den minus the animal heads. My room was fantastic. I upgraded to a small suite and had a little kitchenette. […] This became part of the problem. Choosing to stay in for most meals I was surprised that I had to request some sort of 'turn down service' at about 7 pm, to get the trash taken out. This was done, but all of my dishes etc were left in the sink, untouched. My only point is that the 'suite/kitchen' part of this room was not really considered by the staff. I am used to having the plates cleared if I am staying in a place with a kitchen. The big disaster however was the dinner in the hotel. After being persuaded to stay downstairs and eat (I was alone) the manager promised to take good care of me. I never saw him again, nor did i see my server. I ordered a bottle of nice wine thinking i would take it to the room. He poured a glass and left it on ice at the bar. After about an hour and 3 requests for another glass, I had to go to the bar myself and ask for more of the wine. Everything I ordered with amendments came out wrong. They were simple requests, but not one was met. Turns out, it was march madness and my server was very busy watching the game. It was just disappointing because the dinner was over $120 (a lot for me, dining alone) and the experience left more than everything to be desired. Had I not had dinner at the hotel, and had I felt that the needs of the individual guest (single person, eating in the room, needing plates cleared) were considered, I could recommend this as one of the great, if undiscovered 'gems' in nyc hotels. The location leaves a bit to be desired in that on the weekends it's somewhat dead. But for the price I booked this was an exceptional hotel downtown NYC. Parking is a bit costly--$38/night half a block down on the left but that's what you get in the city. I was very please with the decor of the hotel. I prefer to stay in boutique style hotels so you […] get something different from the run of the mill. I'm glad I stayed here and would stay again. Cab rides to Greenwhich and Chelsea are about $10-12. Devamı
