Holiday Inn Express San Diego - SeaWorld Area - San Diego

The staff was wonderful...very kind and happy to help. They offered chocolate chip cookies and complimentary bottled water; little things that made our stay a bit extra special. Yes, the parking spots are a bit small but that's pretty typical of the San Diego area, not just the hotel! Overall, we were very pleased with our stay.

Slept well and kids had enough space to move around. Just felt that breakfast ended to early. Staff was very respectful.

Excellent location - close to Sea World and other shopping, restaurants. Hotel also very well kept. Parking spaces could be expanded for sure. Overall - excellent.

The place is very close to all the must see sights around San Diego. The Stay was great and had very good breakfast. I wasn't happy of the smell in the room, other than all went well.

This is a really nice HI Express, and the service was very friendly and professional. Complimentary breakfast was good, and the hotel is conveniently located near Interstate 8. While there are a number of places to eat all within walking distance, the area is a little run down. I did not feel unsafe, but there were a few vagrants, one of whom stumbled […] into the lobby of the hotel the night we were there. We walked to the Red Lobster down the road for dinner, but there were many choices in the area, Jack in the Box, Wendys, BBQ, Chinese Buffet, fish tacos, Denny's, etc. Devamı

The fridge was not plugged in and didn't notice until it was too late and our kids' milk and food spoiled....the parking lot is real bad...most people have SUV's since families are on the road and spaces are designed for a Corolla. Rooms are nicely remodeled. The only drawback to this hotel is the parking - although it is free, the parking spaces are incredibly tight, making a third of them unusable, especially for anything other than a super small car. We were very happy with our stay. Very clean and new; very friendly staff. The best continental breakfast we have ever had!! Great variety with several protein choices. Very close to Sea World. good hotel, very nice stuff, good value of the money. There are no king size bad, beside of that great stay.

We stayed here for a trip to SeaWorld. Location for visiting SeaWorld is great. Close to lots of dining spots. Staff was helpful & friendly. Morning breakfast was far more than doughnuts & milk; lots of variety. Breakfast staff worked very hard to keep things stocked and clean. Pool was small but clean; hot tub was good. Mapquest directions to find […] the hotel were spot on; no trouble pulling up. Downsides: staff's English was challenging to follow; parking is ridiculously small--no way our minivan could fit in 1 spot; the surrounding neighborhood is not great. hotel is okay for the price but you can hear all the street noice and above floor people walking steps. area is okay. If you stay in the hotel, don't forget to try Phill's BBQ place. That's the best BBQ you will ever try.

Seriously super easy to get to beach's,zoo and seaworld . Many restaurants near bye and the value of this place trumps even places with double the rates .At first was a little Leary but a one night stay turned into a six nighter so yes very happy customer.

The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was quite good. The hotel is difficult to find, and the parking is pretty limited but all in all, a nice place at a reasonable price. Pretty convenient to everything in San Diego.

Surprisingly clean with a friendly staff. Continental breakfast was Ok. Close to the freeway for conveniency.

So very happy w/my stay there... The staff was very welcoming, the bed was perfect (the linens were the best I've seen, & esp liked providing both 'soft' & 'firm' pillows) & the breakfast buffet was a great variety & tasty... This hotel is very conviently located distance wise to Seaworld, and the service to customers is very nice, but other then that I wouldn't recommend it. We stayed here to go to Seaworld on a wknd get a way and had to sleep with earplugs. The rooms are not sound proof and it gets very loud and roudy. When we arrived at our room our view was a brick wall; […] not very attractive. The free breakfast in the morning is delicious. The rooms are nicely decorated and the hotel is kept very clean. Don't expect to see any type of view, sleep very well or be in a nice surrounding area. If those are important aspects to you, go somewhere else. Devamı

The hotel was tough to find, and to drive to once found; lots of U-turns were involved the first time! But it was a nice, comfortable place once I finally got there. The breakfast was superb--the largest selection of options I have ever seen for a free breakfast service, and good quality products. The most problematic aspect of my stay was the Internet […] service. The Wifi connection kept shutting down in my room, so I had to avail myself of the public computer in the lobby; even that connection was often slow and occasionally shut down. Weird. Devamı

Great hotel but the parking was very bad tight spots so if you have a nice car get a spot early

We (A young couple with two toddlers) stayed in this hotel for two nights. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and the comfort of our room. There was plenty of space for the kids to run around and the beds were very soft and comfortable! The breakfast was great! Your usual hotel fare- yogurt, bread, muffins, oatmeal, cereal, etc... PLUS, […] a pancake machine that makes two fresh and fluffy pancakes in about 90 seconds and bacon, eggs, omlettes, sausage, biscuits, gravy, and cinnamon rolls. Great selection! The pool is tiny. But, we didn't really care. We had the whole thing to ourselves, anyway. And, the parking lot was under the hotel and the spots WERE small as others said. But, when we went (Sept), there were plenty of available spots so you could spread out. It was literally 3 mins from seaworld, about 10 from the zoo, and.... 5ish mins from the beach. All driving. We will definitely stay here again! Oh, and the chocolate chip cookies in the lobby were a nice treat to go with the boys milk at bedtime. :) Devamı

Hotel was very nice, room was great, staff was awesome! The neighborhood was iffy and GPS had difficulty getting me there. Overall, I would go back. The breakfast was included and was very good.

It was first tough for us to locate the hotel as it is kind of hidden inside. The neighbourhood is not as pleasing as I would like it to be. But the comforts of the hotel are upto holiday inn express standards with wifi , parking and complimentary breakfast. Their inhouse laundry facility is perfect as well. We chose the Holiday Inn Express in San Diego because of its description and location, despite it cost more than other hotels. We know now it was a mistake. The location was difficult to find. The neighborhood was very questionable. And the promised harbor views were views of other buildings and the freeway. To get to the pool, you had to either go […] out of the hotel to the front sidewalk or thru the parking garage. The pool gates were open to anyone, not a safe feeling. Within the room, we were able to hear other guests in the hallway, showering, watching tv, or flushing the toilet. To get to your room, the stairs was the most efficient way, the only elevator was usually in use by the hotel staff or stalled and unoperable. Devamı

My first visit in san Diego. It is more glorified by the overall satisfaction of the holiday inn express . Its rooms are so clean , customer service agents are friendly, the free breakfast is hot and delicious .I don't have enough words to explain my satisfaction. Overall this was a great hotel for my family during our visit to San Diego. It is very close to Sea World which was our main reason for visiting. The pool is small though so if your kids really want to swim just keep that in mind. The breakfast was excellent as far as hotel free food goes. It was the best we have had so far. I was happy with the cleanliness of the hotel. The room was nicely kept and decorated. All I needed was available in the room including a microwave and refrigerator. The only thing I was unhappy with was the sheets were very rough on my skin. They also bothered my son's skin. We had breakfast in the morning and the food was acceptable. You could tell […] the eggs were from a container but the rest of the food was good. The parking spaces were way too small and we were in a compact vehicle. If I had driven my suburban down we would not have been able to park. It was a little difficult to get to the hotel but once we knew where we were going it was fine. Good service for the price. Clean. Very friendly staff. The indoor Parking lot is small and somewhat not the best for SUVs. ALL The parking spaces are for compact cars. So, SUVs must occupy more than one space at one time....Small pool too. Other than this, not bad...

Overall the hotel was great. Very convenient to Sea World and to the beaches. The main complaint we have about the hotel is parking. Parking is under the hotel and the spaces are small. With most everyone having SUV's it's hard to get into the spots and parking definitely fills up at night.

I only needed a room for 1 night but the staff was very polite and welcoming. The room was very nice and very clean. Close to all the things I needed!

The hotel is not a five star hotel. However, it is a nice hotel that performs like it should. It was great for our vacation to Sea World.

Great value. Convenient and good complimentary breakfasts. My sister stayed at an expensive hotel and liked our hotel much better. The area isn't so fancy, but it was safe and the hotel looked like an oasis.

We were very pleased overall with the hotel. It was close to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and the beaches. The breakfast was good as with any Holiday Inn express. My only compplaints with this one is that parking is horrible and the breakfast area is very small. You have to get to the hotel early to even get a spot and if you are lucky enough the spaces […] are very small. As for the breakfast area I believe there was only six tables inside and two outside. We had a wonderful visit. The only problem was trying to park at 11;30 at night. Not enough parking slots. Breakfast was really good. And Choc.Chip Cookies for snack in the afternoon. Nice touch.

Took the family down on a Friday night to get up early Saturday for a full day at SeaWorld. Great place for 1 or 2 nights for a family of four with 2 kids under 10. Not real modern but just enough. Fridge and Microwave in the room plus basic cable including HBO. Not the best neighborhood, but it is .5 miles from SeaWorld, you can see the nightly Fireworks […] show from the hotel.
