Courtyard by Marriott Old Town - San Diego

Parking was expensive - you can park on the street which is where they told us go first. Then there were like 15 parking spaces below the hotel. Ridiculous... Room was not clean - the bathroom was full of hair on the floor and in the shower. THere's no way someone had cleaned that before we checked in. Disgusting

My husband and I have stayed at hotels all over the world and are a bit spoiled. We've been to Marriott's, and this was our least favorite. It's under construction, a renovation, which I didn't know when I made the reservation. If I'd known, I would've booked a different hotel. That being said, our room was musty smelling, and the a/c unit was really […] noisy. The bathroom light was so dim, I could barely see, and the toilet paper was so far from the toilet, I had to get up to reach it, not a pleasant thing to do. Within walking distance to Tolley Stqtion and Old San Diego. Lobby is under constuction untl the end of March 2012. Room rate is reasonable for the location.

We stayed at this hotel because it was convenient to a rhythmic gymnastics competition we were attending and they said they had Queen size beds (other hotels listed Full size beds). The first room we were given smelled extremely musty and there were spots of black mold throughout the room and bath. The A/C condensation dripped on our carpet throughout […] the night (an obvious contributor to the mustiness) and the carpet was very wet. I went to the desk to complain and they gave us a new room a few doors down. The room was better, smelled less however there were still mold spots in t the room. Parking is $15 per day and they comped parking due to our inconvenience. The parking garage is very tight. You can park on the street for free as an alternative. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. They were remodeling the lobby and that really didn't bother us. However, after the lobby, they need to remodel every room and deal with the black mold. We've stayed at Marriott Courtyards in other locations and they were always comfortable, clean and a pleasure to stay at. This one might be if they remodel every room and remove the mold. For the time being, I recommend staying away until the remodel is completed. Devamı

The hotel was near Old Town San Diego, which was our main goal, and the price was right. The room was not overly nice, I'd say passable, and the air in the room seemed "muggy". It was nice that it was walking distance to Old Town and close to the freeway. If it was more expensive I would have liked something nicer though.

Everything from the decor to the customer service was great except for 2 things - parking and the bed sheets. Parking was a major pain - we got home at 11pm and all three of their small lots were packed. The second, the bed sheets/blankets were clearly stained and not 100% clean - I could see dust built up as well as crumbs that I know I did not cause […] since I didn't eat in the room. I'm not a major germaphobe but it was disappointing to see unclean blankets on the beds since I've been to more inexpensive hotels with cleaner looking sheets. We were staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Old Town in San Diego during the 3rd week of November, 2011. Apparently they were undergoing construction. The bad part was they booked our room right under the room where they were completing construction. After being kept up on a Friday evening until after 12:30 p.m. by people who decided to party in the […] hall way, we were awakened the following morning at 7:45 a.m. (Saturday) to constuction workers pounding in the room above us. The construction workers had lifted and removed the toilet in the room above us. The nasty water from the above toilet dripped into our bathroom all over the floor and then filled our bathroom light fixture. We ended up cleaning the water from the floor (completely unsanitary) and were not able to take a shower to begin the day until we demanded they send someone to inspect the light fixture to be sure we were not in danger of any electrical problems or shocked while we showered. The only person they sent to inspect the damage was their general maintenance man and he did not arrive until 45 minutes after our call. They did offer to move our room, but it was too late. Our night sleep was ruined and our hope of sleeping in was ruined by the construction crew. Also during the week we were subjected to the profound smell of diesel fuel exhaust as it filled the entire hotel as the construction crew elected to park their portable construction scissor lift at the front door while the crew worked on the platform to access the roof. We were on the 3rd floor and the fumes were horrible. The final issue was the heavy sound of the interstate next too the hotel. Granted they attempted to reduce the sound by putting a piece of plexi-glass over the old outdated hand crank windows, but it was still very noisy. Devamı

The hotel was very convenient to Old Town San Diego. It was only 2 blocks to great food and drinks. We were told the hotel will be going through major renovation soon so maybe by the time we return they will have completed this project.

When we arrived there were the previous guest's dirty clothes in the drawer. The paint on the exterior of the hotel was peeling and we wondered why it wasn't taken care of. Location was good but there are so many hotels in the vicinity, I'm sure there was a better choice for the price. Since we booked on hotels.com it was pre-paid. The only charge we […] would be responsible for was parking and the 2nd day we were there we noticed 2 charges; one for $50 and one for $60. NOT COOL. After we checked out, they were removed, but WTH?!?! Oh and the parking garage(s) were very narrow to manuever in. Devamı

Enjoyed my stay and had some incredible meals within walking distance from the hotel.

Good Hotel, great location to everything, a little too close the freeway but okay. Parking is $14.00, which was not told to me at check in. Your other option is parking on the street and good luck with that as there is none..... Loved being with in walking distance of Old Town.

We stayed at this hotel after spending the previous night at the Marriot in Del Mar, and would have to rate this hotel a 10 by comparison! It's very easy convenient to I-5 and puts you within walking distance of Old Town San Diego. The hotel is clean and comfortable has a nice outdoor swimming pool and hot tub! We also caught the tail end of their Summer […] ice cream hour which oddly enough is just before dinner time (3:30-4:30) The parking garage will cost you an extra $14/night and it gets very crowded with tight spaces. Overall, I'd stay here again on my next trip to SD. Devamı

Would be nice to have a counter top in bathroom to put toiletries, beds were too soft. Other then that it was nice and quiet

This hotel is conveniently located a couple of blocks from Old Town. I would request a room in the front of the hotel otherwise your room will be right on the freeway. Several of us stayed there and we were all next to the freeway and awakened every morning at 4 am by the freeway traffic. Shuttle service was a little erratic but the staff is very nice […] and helpful. Devamı

Very friendly and welcoming. Wine and cheese reception in the afternoon! A short walk to restaurants and shopping in Old Town San Diego.

I'm admittedly a Beverly Hills brat, and this place was better than fine. We got a room on New Years Eve at 3 PM for that same night (which I complained to my boyfriend saying "what kind of place would have availability this late in the game on New Years Eve?!"), and ate my words. It was clean, parking was gated and underground, it was a $10 cab ride […] to the Gaslamp District and the bed was comfy. The staff was great too. They called us a cab on our way out to party, and helped us find an open pizza place at 3 AM when we got home. :) I would definitely recommend this place. Devamı

not the higher end relative to many other downtown, but a good location to USD, old town, downtown, and airport. big breakfast area.

The hallways are small and look a little dingy but the room was clean and comfortable. Wonderful location near the trolley station for the padre game and also to tour around Old Town. Parking is tight but we were able to find some-however we decided to park in the hotels lot and pay the extra fee for extra security.

Only complaint as stated in other reviews, foul odor in bathroom upon arrival. Had room that backed up to fwy, but did not really notice the noise. Pillows not too comfy. Great location for visiting Old Town area. Short walk to trolley to go downtown. Overall good value and clean.

Have stayed here before. Great room, easily accessible, but this time, the room faced the freeway. Not too annoying, and to their credit, they do provide earplugs for those that are sensitive to the noise. Great breakfast buffet. Good place for the family and it's near Old Town.

I had a medical emergency while staying at the hotel. They conctaced an urgent care facility and arranged transportation for me. Not only that they checked up on me when I returned. WOW.

Hotel ligt centraal. Sea World en Old Town liggen om de hoek. Kwaliteit en prijs verhouden zich uitstekend. Alleen is het ontbijt niet bij de prijs inbegrepen en is voor het gebodene duur. Vriendelijke staff, schone, fris ruikende kamer met een uitstekend bed. Aanrader!
