Scottsdale Thunderbird Suites - Scottsdale

I didn't realize when I booked that it was literally going to be right beside the airport. A little noise but overall a great place to stay for the price!

I would first say, the beds are super plush, very comfortable and really nice... The housekeeping service is great, and the front desk was superb. Problems that must be addressed are the food and drink services.. Breakfast was paltry at best, food ran out very quickly and what was there, left MUCH to be desired.. I will say though, that the general […] manager gave us a breakfast credit which sort of helped, though not enough to cover breakfast for 4. The bar services were useless. Drink service was awful. I stay here once a year for the Arabian Horse Show and am always very satisfied with this hotel. Rooms are big, with separate living room and small kitchenette. There is a nice pool area too. Only complaint is a small bathroom with noisy fan that is always on when the light is on.

This hotel's location is close to the north end of Scottsdale, and very good for the Scottsdale Airport. But not for much else. The big problem we had was the pillows - they were down, and both of us are allergic to down. We awoke with swollen faces, and it took two calls to get non-down pillows from housekeeping. It was nice to have a living area and a bedroom. Wish it were 2 queen beds instead of 2 doubles. We paid quite a bit extra for more than 2 people and they kept leaving 3 towels (we needed 4). Biggest disappointment was that they needed more help with the breakfast. All mornings they were not keeping up with demand; no plates, bowls, silver, coffee, […] milk, fruit, or bagels. Flew into Scottsdale Airport and simply walked across the street to the hotel. Very convenient. Nicely appointed room. Clean. Helpful staff. OK breakfast buffet.

So we show up at nearly 5pm on a Sunday and there were no rooms clean and ready when check-in is 3:30pm. They proceeded to call each other on cell phones right in front of me like they have no idea how to prepare rooms for guests. We asked for towels that never came. After being out on the town all day, we came back to the room at 4:30pm on a slow […] weekday only to see they hadn't yet cleaned. I needed an overnight stay prior to having surgery at a nearby hospital the next day. This was a great place to stay with a really comfortable bed so I got a good nights sleep. The bathroom was on the small side but perfectly adequate. There was a full breakfast which I couldn't eat but my friend did and found it satisfactory. There was a nice pool […] but it's still a bit too cold for pools. The hotel is lovely and everyone was pleasant and helpful. Devamı

We've stayed here before and it seemed this time it might have been a little short staffed. It seemed like they couldn't keep up with the breakfast buffett...short on food, dishes, utensils, bus boys, etc. Housekeeping was a little slower getting to us. Pool furniture was starting to show some wear. We loved the new lobby...especially the lemon water […] and coffee available at all times! We would definitely stay here again. I had a conference at the Keirland, and saved big staying here, around 1 mile away...just a few minutes away. Friendly staff. Mostly family. Very basic work out, just treadmill/exercise bike. Located next to Scottsdale airport. Went to Zips sports pub just past the Kierland to watch my university play and have a fun inexpensive lunch. Free wifi, small […] fridge, mirco. Rooms OK. Great place to stay!

Very clean,quiet, and comfortable.

The free breakfast was fantastic, fresh and healthy. The room was spacious and clean. At night the running water and flushing of toilets was pretty loud from surrounding rooms. Good wifi access and comfortable sitting room.

We have stayed here many times and the rates are competitive. This stay was for a week. Was very disappointed with the rooms not being vacumned during the whole stay, counters were not wiped clean, nor did we ever have enough washcloths left to use on a daily basis; bath tub rug/mats were not always left to use either. The all-you-can-eat breakfast […] ran out of dishes one morning and then the ones they provided later were not clean, so we left. Eggs were dry and over cooked. Great suite rooms and service. Breakfast is great and much better then other breakfast hotel options.

The refrigerator in the room didn't work. When I asked the front desk about it, they asked me if I had checked to see if it was plugged in! It was built into a cabinet in a small kitchenette...um....NO. I didn't pull out appliances. It did not get resolved during my stay. Also, the bathroom is extremely small. You can barely get in or out of the tub/shower […] if the bathroom door is open. When I say barely, I mean barely...you have to step over the toilet to do so. The hotel is also right next to an airport - expect some noise. The rooms are not well insulated and you wil hear it every time the neighboring guests (above, below or on either side) use the bathroom. I'd say this hotel is almost perfect. It's located right next to the Scottsdale Airport, but the noise levels are surprisingly low. We only heard planes overheard once each morning. The lobby decor includes some cool tables made from recycled plane parts, and the lounge has a similar aviation decor theme. The hotel's walking distance from the Scottsdale […] Quarter and Kierland Commons, so there are plenty of places to drink, eat, shop and socialize. Staff was friendly and the complimentary hot buffet breakfast was impressive (eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, hash browns, fruit, and more). Two major gripes: the hotel's free Wi-Fi was painfully slow for us -- slower than a 24k dial-up modem on one night. And we were locked out of our room ten minutes before check-out time, in-between trips to the car with our luggage. One minor gripe: the bathroom in our suite was very small. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but the pokey Wi-Fi might prevent me from recommending this place for any kind of business trip. Devamı

Elevator did not work. Loud running water sound coming from bathroom every 20 minutes. Couch was totally uncomfotable. Entered rooms from outside.

This place really has everything you need for business but it really could use a update. There was. Stain on the bed spread and the shower broke on my the first morning. Location is great with some of the best shopping and dining right up the road.

We enjoyed the room and wished we had more nights to stay. However, checking into the room the desk staff had given the wrong reservations and had over charged us by $400 which included three refundable deposits of $50 for three rooms when we only wanted one! They did fix the problem but took a week for the money to be refunded in our account which […] left us very low on funds for our trip home. The Thunderbird Suites in Scottsdale offers clean room, nothing fancy, but easy stay. However, wake up call never came; luckily, I woke up right when it was supposed to be placed. Warning: no true restaurant for dinner; more bar service though sandwiches are homemade when toy are order, very fresh, and outstanding. Friendly staff; recommended.

If you are interested in aeroplanes, then this is the place.

The rate was average. The heated pool and jacuzzi were great, but we had to have someone turn on pool lights in the evening. The hotel provides a hot breakfast buffet, with quality food and beverages. We requested a non-smoking room and left with a subtle cigarette odor. The suite was spacious with a separate living room and two tv's, which was great […] for the kids. The bathroom was tiny and reminded me of a airplane lavatory. The door swung in, so you had to squeeze around the door to get in and close it. The shower leaked and the fan was extremely noisy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I would have slept like a baby if it weren't for an light buzzing sound that went on and off throughout the night. If the rates remain the same, we would stay there again. Devamı

We chose this hotel for its proximity to friends who were staying in another hotel and paying twice as much. For us (family of 4 with two teen boys), it was perfect. Able to get adjoining rooms - two-queen room for boys, and a king room for us. Bathrooms were tiny and we could hear jet noise from the nearby airport, but hey - we had lots of room to […] spread out, clean sheets/towels, close to nearby mall for morning coffee and eats, and everyone slept well. Breakfast buffet was alright, but we came near the end of the breakfast window (was probably more plentiful earlier in the morning). One can't come here expecting the Ritz. This hotel is very reasonable and located in a great part of Scottsdale! The hotel staff are really nice and professional and the free breakfast is very good as well.

This hotel is the bomb, the location is five star near the nicest part of scottsdale and the rates are very reasonabale.

This was the most comfortable bed at a hotel. Soft and not saggy. Very impressed.

Usually, you get what you pay for, In this case I reveived more than I was expecting, way more. While not totally plush, it was noticeably above average.

Front desk clerks were very friendly, the room was spacious (except the bathroom, but not a big deal), and the location is convenient. This is a good place to stay if you have kids since there is a separation between living room (with pull-out sofa) and the bedroom. However, while the included breakfast does include eggs, pancakes, etc. the food is […] low quality. One sip of the "orange juice" and you will know it is Sunny D, for example. Very friendly staff and the cleanliness of the rooms was impressive. Good little breakfast as well. We wiould stay here again and plan to next year.

Beautiful courtyard, hot pool, big suite and great breakfast. Would love to stay there again.

Not horrible, but not impressed. Room was a bit shabby. The heater didn't work very well and was very noisy. Easy to find, easy to get to. For the price I would try anywhere else...

Everything was fine, including a very nice breakfast, except for the fact that we had to come to pick extra blanket and sheets. They may not have had extra personnel to do that themselves.

We got to the hotel and front clerk was nice at first. We did find several issues with this hotel. The glass sliding door would not open at all, thank god there was no fire. I had asked the front desk for bedding for the sofa that turned into a bed and was told that they had none and even had no pillows. I was completely floored about this. The bathroom […] was extremly small. Also, just before 9AM on Saturday morning we have housekeeping knocking on the door so they can clean. So much for trying to sleep in. We decided to stay at the Thunderbird Suites in North Scottsdale due to location.. it seemed like a nice hotel based upon the pictures. I do have to admit, that the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately the housekeeping staff is less than to be desired. We put in the key slot the little card showing the please service our room side. We had left at […] 10:30am that morning, and when we got back home at 6:30 that night, the room had not been touched. When we called down to find out what was going on, we were told that the card showed Do Not Disturb. I find that funny since when we arrived back at the hotel, the card still showed as being please service room. In order to get fresh towels we had to go down to the front desk instead of them bringing them up to us. Kind of annoying when they made the mistake in my opinion. Also, the pillows for the king bed were tiny and looked more like decorative pillows. Yes the location was great, the price was great, but the stay was not. I am huge into customer service, and i don't feel that we even received average customer service at the end. I would NOT recommend. Devamı

when we checked in the front desk clerk was very rude, she didnt know any of the answers to the questions i asked about the hotel. the couch in our room was obscenely gross looking, like it hadnt been cleaned in awhile, white stains everywhere on it! wouldnt let my kids touch it! the complementary hot breakfast buffet didnt even exist! the staff was […] not customer oriented, and as far as washcloths we had to buy our own because the room didnt have any and when we asked the house keepers, they would say ok but never brought them. never again would i stay here....
