Monumental Hotel Orlando - Orlando

Hotel was below expectations. Price and location are good. No wireless access in rooms, only in lobby. Lobby at far end of hotel from parking area. Pool was nice, but hot tub did not work. Lamp in room had to be unplugged / plugged in to turn off/on.

Disliked the bed as it was way way toooo soft. Parking left a lot to be desired. No frills, (box of Kleenex, more than one washcloth, shower head that was better than a fine 'water saver' kind.

We have just returned from a fab holiday in Orlando, 2 adults and 2 children. While it is not in the centre of things it is on the bus and trolley route and both have a regular service. It is only 5 mins on bus / trolley to the Premium outlets at Vineland Ave and for those interested is also only 5 mins from catholic church. The service in the hotel […] was second to none - our rooms were cleaned every day and the beds were really comfortable and there was a guest laundry facility for a very reasonable price. The hotel also had a lovely pool and jacuzzi which we were delighted to take advantage of. Our receptionists were extremely helpful. I have to single out Roberta on reception for a special mention as she couldn't do enough to help and was a great source of information and fun. We also got great service in the Pineapple Grill restaurant particularly from Tony and Dave. The Monumental is definitely worth a visit. However, it is worth mentioning that some taxi drivers were not familiar with the location - people would need to be aware to inform them that it is located at south end of International Drive near the Vineland Ave premium outlets Devamı

Weve just returned from our two week holiday in orlando and i just had to report on how well we were treated in this hotel. Ive read some of the bad reviews and it feels like they are writing about a different hotel . Lets start with reception . The staff and in particular , Roberta , could not have been more welcoming , good humoured and helpful. Every […] morning we had a lovely breakfast served with aplomb by Dave or Tony . The pool was a lovely haven from the hectic pace of Disney and Universal. The rooms were cleaned daily and were spacious and the bed extreamly comfortable. While there wasnt wifi in the rooms, it was available in the lobby. The i ride bus and link was availableon the road outside. The price was 3 star but the service was 5 star. I would definitely return here . We were two mothers with our two sons and we had a fantastic stay . The only problem we had was that taxi drivers seemed to have difficulty finding the hotel so I would advise taking business card of hotel with you . Devamı

Location good, rooms had a lot of space but the service at the front desk, concierge and breakfast room very poor.

Breakfast is not included and there is a menu at the small restaurant in the hotel where the service is extremely slow and not friendly. Also the concierge help is very limited. It is a good place to stay if you know the area well.

This hotel seems like it was luxurious at one time... It is pleasantly old-fashioned, but felt like a ghost-town-hotel, set off by itself in location with only about 1/4 of the rooms filled with guests.... It still has the old fashioned televisions, too. However, it had some very nice up-dated amenities, including great make-up mirror attached to bathroom […] wall and hairdryer, as well as the newest coffee-makers (one cup at a time). (However, they need to supply more than one cup's worth! My husband had to go downstairs and buy a $2.50 cup in the dining room!). The beds were very comfortable, but the shower head pressure a bit weak, and tub had one hair on it, which gave the impression of a quick cleaning. It could really use new carpets and upholstery, as well. We will probably never go back again, but for the great price on hotels.com, it was adequate for this one occasion. By the way, the outdoor pool, (which we didn't use due to cool weather and time-constraints), looked surprisingly big and nice, with little cabanas on the sides for privacy and water shooting up into the pool from the sides! Really the only two things that bothered me about this hotel was the bad outside lighting, both in the parking lot and the side road leading to it, and the poorly kept landscaping.

Good location to all Orlando activities. It took way to long to check in due to computer problems. Rooms were clean but the beds were terrible. Pool was awesome and comfy. Everything piece of furniture was very dated and worn. Over all a good hotel experience.

very good service but when we told them that our hot water was way to hot we did not get anything changed. Called and talked with the manager and he was very rude and wouldnt listen!

Ok.. First time ever I was placed in a room that was somebody else's..... when I went back down to the desk and ask for upgrade because of the inconvenience they said no upgrades..really?? nice surrounding nice building but everything else.. I'd never go back there again, even with a free night

Monumental was clean, comfortable and modern. The entrance was a little unusual and required a little walking to get to the front desk. For being in a tourist mecca - we didn't see any other guests until we checked out the following day, weird.

I stayed at this hotel on a busines trip where this hote was in between my meetings. It is a bare bones hotel with clean quiet rooms. No gym, no resturant, no shuttle service. It is in an area away from retail and is set off the main road so difficult to determine how to get into the hotel. No wireless internet in the rooms. It was very convinient to go and return to our hotel. Very close to my favorite theme parks&and restaurants. It was a very nice hotel. Thank You for a wonderful aniversary my wife and I had. The staff is extremely rude and not very helpful. The hotel is in a weird location. We do not get any cleaning service for the 2 nights that we were there. Everything is old, linens, tv, furniture, towels... OLD OLD OLD. NEVER will stay there again.

The hotel was nice. It had a clean exterior and the lobby seemed new. The room was clean and was well accommodating for me and my wife. The king size bed was very comfortable. We stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool; this was a nice view. As far as parking is concerned, it seemed a little strange as far as the layout of the parking lot. As far as being close to the attractions, it was only 1/2 mile or so from Sea World; around 1 to 2 miles from the entire huge lot of restaurant establishments to choose from. I found the Monumental Hotel to be a good value. The hotel is conveniently located far enough from the main Orlando attractions which kept us from being exposed to a lot of traffic and noise. Very quiet location. Major restaurants were all within a few minutes drive. We were not able to enjoy the awesome pool and pool deck area. Maybe next time. Two […] items that the hotel needs to improve on are site lighting and the cable tv. I found that near 50% of the parking lot lights were either out or without bulbs. Parking is located at the rear of the hotel, and the lighting at night was very poor. Secondly, the cable tv stations were very limited, and the tv's outdated. Overall, the hotel is in need of some updating. Could use new carpet throughout. All in all, the hotel is very clean and we found the staff to be very friendly. We will return. Devamı

Love this hotel. Not busy, easy, fast check in/out. The rooms are big and nice very clean! Right down the street from the outlet mall, very close to sea world, pleanty of places to eat. The pool area is great, have a bar and restaurant on site with room service! Staff is very nice!

Very cheap room, but very poorly maintained property. The a/c completely shuts off when you're not in the room so when you return to your room it is 85 degrees. The entire place smelled musty. No Internet access of any kind in the rooms.

The hotel was great if your looking for a quiet place. It looks like it was a Hilton or something at one time. The pool is heated and clean. There were no issues with to commotion. Overall it was a nice place to stay.

The first hotel room we were given had a broken Air Conditioner. This is a season of record heat - keep these things running. Yes, it cooled the room sort of - but to do so, it had to make this horrible loud humming noise that prevented sleep. After calling the front desk to be moved, we were given a room where the A/C was quieter. However, in this […] smokeless hotel, it was quite obvious someone had smoked in the room and they hadn't done what was needed to get the smell out. This seems like the resort that never happened. There are decent bones for a nice place to stay, but it is eerily not taken care of very well. Weeds growing through the concrete, rust along the ceilings, and it just seems as if no one was there. Definitely not worth the four star review it had when we booked with them.

The Monumental delivers excellent service at a reasonable price. The rooms were large, bright, and had a "Key West" feel to them. We dined at their restaurant/bar, and received fantastic service from our waiter Rene. The hotel is close to everything, yet somehow remains quiet and relaxing.

I have stayed in many hotels from 2 Star, to 5 star. This hotels didn't dissapoint me. It was clean, good location, and the staff was amazing. I will without a doubt return to this beautiful hotel again. It only took 2 minutes to get to Sea world. Absolutely Amazing.

Overall, if your purpose of the stay is to find a comfortable place to sleep, clean spacious room at affordable rate this will serve your purpose. The pool was immaculate and the hot tub was perfect (after a long day at disney). People are very friendly and the front office staff helpful in addressing concerns. If you are looking for basic service such as someone at the door to help you, have a drink or food at the local lobby after rough trip I would not recommend this place. You will see frequent reviews about refering this place as a "ghost town"-this is true. I thought the hotel itself was fine. I read some reviews that suggested that parking was inconvienent and that the rooms were plain etc. I thought the parking was fine and the rooms were convienent. There was a red spot on the carpet next to the trash can but really didn't bother me. If you go to Orlando to spend time in the room then this is probably […] not the hotel for you. The hotel we stayed at before this one was very luxurious, but the water was horrible. We never felt clean. I have to say that this hotel's water was MUCH better! The room was comfortable and the bed was fabulous. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the Orlando area. We were a little further from Universal, but all in all, we would stay here again. The […] room's refrigerator was not cold and in need of defrosting, but was promptly taken care of. They had the refrigerator in a cabinet with doors. This was creating the problem. Good location, quiet place, good price

This hotel was wonderful for our stay in Orlando. Refund policy states 24 hour notice for cancellations and they do stick to that. Thankfully, that also meant that we could check in anytime that day instead of waiting for the regular check in time. Bed was super comfy (and I am really picky about this!) and the room was very cool and dry. (I mention […] this because another room we stayed in later was not!) Actually, I wanted to check out of the hotel we chose later in the vacation and check back into this one. The entry is a bit off. I'm not sure how we missed it, but we pulled into the loop bit that most hotels have to drive up to the entry. We went in that door, but it seems to be the back of the hotel. My husband believes this is because the hotel was renovating, but I didn't pick up on that. I also had been up for over 24 hours at that point, so I wasn't picking up on much. Devamı

I really liked my stay in this hotel. It is located on an undeveloped stretch of I-drive, really close to Seaworld, and in a reasonable proximity to Disney, Universal, and restaurants. The management keeps the hotel clean, well-maintained, and cozy. The pool/hot tub area is awesome. The price is compelling (i.e. significantly less than at other "resorts", […] but with the same great resorty experience). One strange thing that comes to mind is the parking lot, whose location is really confusing, and landscaping, that does not seem to be friendly. Particularly, the parking lot is really far from the hotel, and one needs to navigate through a maze to get in and parked. Another oddity is that the reception desk is located at the opposite wing from the parking and the arriving area - weird and uncomfortable for a newcomer. Another odd thing is the outside planning - or lack whereof. The jungle forest is removed from the property, but nothing else is done - no palms, no gardens planted - just a huge empty space between the main road and the hotel. It does look weird, and brings the sense of confusion. But, for the price and the comfort that it buys - I am more than happy to experience that confusion! Devamı
