A beautiful property with charm and a nice ambience. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Close to most anything in Galveston and in a more grown up area of downtown than the beach area.

I love this hotel and I stayed there before, this stay was unpleasant due to the condition of the room. The blinds were torn up and behind the ugly blinds was a terrible view of a fire escape. The bathroom floor was full of someone else's hair. Doormen were very nice.

Love this place! Most comfortable beds I've ever slept in and I return as often as possible. Convenient to restaurants, shopping and the beach.

This is a great hotel.....beautifully put together. Examples are 2" doors, premium red oak floors, beautiful bathroom tile, etc. There was an excellent woman singer and pianist on Friday night. Chris in the cafe took excellent care of us. Elegantly put together with super service from the staff.

The hotel itself is in great condition with nice sized rooms featuring vaulted ceilings and large windows. It's located right near the cruise ship terminals in the Strand district, which is the historic downtown area and features a fair number of restaurants and shops. The only downside from our perspective was that it was a bit of a ways from the Seawall/Ocean […] and the greater surrounding neighborhood can be a bit sketchy on a block-by-block basis. Devamı

Only one night, but room was very nice and comfortable (we had a king-sized bed) and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The best hotel we stayed in during our trip around the south west of Texas. We stayed in a very spacious suite. Standard and cleanliness of the room was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We were expecting much from this 4 star hotel. First thing I notice when we got into our room is a few hair on the bathroom floor... that's ok, maybe they just missed it. Everything else was good. Our problem is the next morning, at 9 AM when we were still in sleep, someone banged on the door shouting 'engineering!', then opened our door! At that point […] I rushed to the door and the person said, 'oh I'm sorry I didn't know there's someone in here' which of course, woke up our 2 year old daughter and started our awful with her lack of sleep. I do acknowledge that we forgot to put out the 'quiet' sign, but really, how hard is it for a 4 star hotel staff to figure out which is occupied and which is not?! They shouldn't have entered! To make it worse, when we mentioned this to the reception desk when we checked out, she gave us such a cold 'I'm sorry' response, with no explanation, no emotion whatsoever, and just monotone. We were so disappointed at the attitude. I know others rave about this hotel, guess it just didn't work our for us. It was an overall disappearing experience, especially given it's a 4 star hotel. It is a nice place, quite fancy. Our room looked out over the elevator and was right by the service station where the maid carts sat outside our room all night. It was a long room and from the bed the tv was about 30 feet away. The ceiling was high and the room never did cool down much. The front desk did not apologize just informed us that they knew […] of the AC problem beforehand. Breakfast was good for 40 bucks, We'd rather stay at the Galvez where you are waited on. Great hotel for a quick, romantic getaway. Rooftop bar offers a wonderful view of Galveston and the sunset and provides a perfect place to relax with a drink and a good book midweek in the off season. Selection of good restaurants is within walking distance, as is the Strand and the tall ship Elissa.

Very disappointed in hotel management or front desk for disregard of the importance of finding our keys left in our room for us 30 minutes after we left. I was told it may be Monday before we heard back from hotel. totally unacceptable since we had just left 30 minutes earlier at this was Saturday at 2:30. I told them where to look to find them and […] it still took four phone calls and being left on hold for 20 minutes after my wife had gone through ever piece of luggage we had over a stressful 2 hours waiting for some word back from our calls. Gorgeous in the heart of historic Galveston. Ultra high ceilings, great design and decor. On site dining ok, many restaurants in surrounding area, but also many closed businesses and some sketchy characters. If fully restored the area would be a great tourist place, as is, there were too many boarded buildings, a trolley ride that has been closed since […] 2008 because of a some hurricane and never restored, and just a sense of not ready for prime time. Walking distance to port. No self parking, must use valet at $18 per night, but if parking for a cruise, you take your car to sister hotel, Hotel Galvez, and they valet it for you for free for duration of cruise. Shuttle goes back and forth between two and also to port and back. Would stay there again, but might try Hotel Galvez instead.. Devamı

Great hotel—they found out it was our 20th anniversary and had a complementary bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in the room at check in. If you’re staying in Galveston, and not wanting to be on the beach, I’d highly recommend this hotel. The restaurants are better in this part of Galveston as well.

We enjoyed this hotel to perfection. It has a feel of real luxury with wonderful lighting and high ceilings. The bar and lobby areas are so tastefully designed with tall palm trees growing through the floors. Rooms are spacious and gorgeous. Booked a suite for a Thursday night with three people planning on one person sleeping on the sleeper sofa. After dinner and drinks, we got back to the hotel to find no sheets for the sleeper sofa. Called down and waited and was delivered one sheet with holes in it! Yes, took a photo! We must be strange but we use a top sheet and a bottom sheet! We ordered […] a second sheet for the sofa while we put the holey sheet on the sofa. Finally got it and then discovered there were only two bath towels. So be sure to order your sheets and towels when you check in! The employees at the front desk, door/valet/bell, and bartender at the lobby bar are really nice and great at their jobs! Sent an email to the hotel a couple of days ago and haven't heard anything back. Devamı

We stayed in a small room at first that was nice, even though it's windows weren't exterior windows. They were windows looking into the interior. We got very lucky and were bumped up to a suite because our plumbing broke, and that seriously made our trip better. Being in the Historic District was very nice because we could walk to little cafes to eat. […] They do have very good service though. They only problem with cleanliness was that they seemed to neglect cleaning under a table in a corner because they probably thought nobody would notice. I didn't look anywhere else to see if it was clean, but generally the rooms were clean and nice. I would highly recommend staying there. Devamı

My ONLY complaint was when we checked in to our room (209) the toilet had not been flushed. :( The toilet did require extra work to flush though. And then during our ride back from the Hotel Galvez the driver seemed to not be very enthused about his job. We are pretty upbeat people but if not, he would have depressed me. Not something people on vacation […] want to hear. He was hispanic but I did not see his name badge. Everything else was amazing and I would definitely recommend your hotel to others and return when we could. Thanks for everything!! Devamı

What a wonderful historic hotel. The rooms were good sized, spotless, and the beds were so comfortable. The lobby had a nice bar, a small restaurant with Starbucks coffee, a free gym, and was withing walking distance to many nice restaurants, bars, and shops. One could use the sister hotel which had a beautiful pool, spa, restaurant, and was across […] the street from the beach. The sister hotel was about 1-1/2 miles away and The Tremont House offered a free shuttle hourly or, if you valet parked, the parking was free at the other hotel. Parking cost about $18/day, but offered free and in and out privileges. It was my 50th birthday and they set us up in a larger room (440) and had a bottle of wine and some cheeses waiting for me. Two other couples traveled with us and they were just as happy with the hotel. We would definitely stay at the Tremont House again! Devamı

This historic hotel captures the elegant "old Galveston" atmosphere reminiscent of its illustrious and prosperous past. The accommodations were superb, the room was beautiful, and the staff was very courteous and professional. I cannot wait to return for another visit!

We enjoyed our stay, guests have the use of the pool at the Galvez Hotel and that is a nice perk. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and the staff is very friendly.

The room had an old Victorian feel to it. I wish our view would've been better, but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room so it was no big deal. The hotel was centrally located, so we were able to do a lot of "sight seeing", visit local shops, and even took a carriage ride. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, and kind. Everything was done […] for us from valet parking our car, to opening every door, to even pushing the buttons on the elevator! The only negative is that we didn't get a chance to visit the rooftop bar. Maybe next time............. Devamı

We have stayed at the Tremont before and had a great experience but it had been years since we had been there. I booked a suite and were immediately noticed that the bathrooms were dirty. There were hairs in the corners around the bathtub and toilet. The walls in the bathroom looked like they hadn't been wiped down in months (they are the same tile […] as the bathtub walls) and there was a hair stuck to them and spots. That night we were thirsty and there is no mini bar in the room so we called to the front desk and asked for some bottles of water. The man who arrived was very rude and acted as though we had put him out greatly. Everyone else was very nice and our room was nice other than the cleanliness but overall I left feeling as though we had not received the value we expected considering what we paid for a suite at the Tremont.
