Wingate by Wyndham, Closest to Universal Orlando - Orlando

One night my young son ask for milk and we were sure it was not possible to get anything but half and half, but the girl at the desk said, " I''ll see what I can do" and she came back with a milk covered cup. I was won over by her eagerness to please. THANKS!!!

Greay hotel quiet and clean

Chose this hotel because it was close to Universal. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Front desk staff was very nice. Continental breakfast had waffles, eggs, sausage and assorted cereals and danish, etc. Staff made sure we weren't on the same floor as the 2 busloads of teenagers which was very thoughful. If you are planning to do laundry there, […] be aware that the dryer takes forever. It took 3 "sessions" before my clothes were dry even on the highest setting. This is a nice hotel, well located to Orlando attractions.

The staff is great. Always ready and willing to help. The room was also great except for the fact that the fan cannot be put on "continuous," meaning that I cannot get uninterrupted sleep. Fortunately, someone adjusted that for me, against the instructions of whoever "the boss" is, so I enjoyed the room 100%. Without that, it would have been a "1" and […] i would never return. as it is not, I will look forward to coming back, and my son will be using it frequently for guests, but only if the fan can be adjusted. Otherwise, there is no good sleep. This is VERY shortsighted and not good for return business. Also i had a problem at the end. I asked for a taxi, and they called a van instead. Same price, but delay with other passengers and no VISA card. I had no cash. Ended up being a mess and I had to pay 18% more to give my card info over the phone to the secretary at the office in a van w/others. A TAXI means a TAXI, and who has cash? This was a huge customer disservice. Othewise, i really liked the hotel and will definately stay there again as it is quite convenient for my needs in Orlando. Without these problems, you would have gotten all "5s" except for room cleanliness and neighborhood which my son tells me is not safe for walking alone-not important to me at all. Devamı

My boyfriend and me decided to meet some friends for a fun filled day at Universal Studios. We chose the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel because of its location. When we arrived at 1:00am, the front desk attendant was extremely attentive and friendly, he had all of our information ready and we were checked in within 10 minutes. Our room was very clean, nice […] and comfortable, the bed was amazing, specially after driving 4 hours. The bathroom was clean although lacking a few essentials (shampoo, body lotion, and conditioner) we contacted housekeeping and items were provided to us immediatly. Check out was fast and again the front desk was friendly, informative and courtious. I would reccomend this hotel to friends and family as the rate, comfort and accomodations were up to my standards and I do travel quite often. Devamı

A great hotel. I would recommend everything except the alarm clocks. The time cannot be reset by the customer. You have to call maintenance. People apparently unplug them frequently to turn off the bright night light (not necessary), and then they need to be reset by maintenance. They need to get new alarm clocks.

My friend are Orlando locals and we booked a room here for a weekend get away to Universal Studios. Drinking was involved so we thought it would be better to get a room than to risk driving. This hotel was a great place to stay. Located close to Universal and very clean. The staff were very nice, funny and even joked with you. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. It was a very affordable hotel for it's location.

Nice hotel - clean, great location for universal. friendly and helpful staff. A lot of places to shop and eat nearby. Breakfast could be a little better.

There were hung ups around who made us scared of being in that hotel. For breakfast no one took time to see what was finished and it looked like we were bothering them when we asked for milk and oatmeal. The front desk staff was great, friendly, called you by name assistance exceptional! The only complaint was NO TRAY to bring coffee back to the room for family!!!! If you allow delivery from outside vendors to be consumed in room - why not breakfast? Past experiences [in other hotels], the in room coffee makers are gross - I never use them any war […] e! Front desk clerk not very astute. After 8 hr drive, said we could get milk for our tea a block away. Cleaning staff heard and got milk from brkfst nook. Room was okay but a) not like picture and b) bathtub had rusted out drain and ratty towels with holes in them. Definately a 2 star bathroom which sure colors your view about the whole stay.

I was impressed with the politeness of the staff and cleanliness of the room; the morning breakfast was tasteful. But, the beds aren't that comfortable but overall the stay was great.

This hotel was not that bad at all. Very close to the holy land experience and other great parks. Location was wonderful close to everything. The continental breakfast was good and standard and the room was nice and clean. I would stay here again!

Good hotel my friends and I stayed at the Windgate for one night and we were 100% satisfied with our stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone else that needs a quick, affordable night stay in Orlando, Florida. Plus the hotel was just a few minutes away from Citywalk which made this hotel even better.

We booked three rooms at Wingate close to Universal Studios for a one night stay after a cruise. For the money this was a great value with the convenient location, great service, and well kept property. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The only negative was a slightly cool whirlpool. One of the nice hotel regarding to the price and location

This was my first time ever staying at a Wyndham Hotel and also vacationing in the Orlando area. I was impressed with the size of comfort level of my room, the 2 queen size beds were very nice. Most staff members went out of their way to greet you whether coming or going and offered answers to any questions they were able to answer. The others basically […] ignored me and never spoke even though I camped out in the lobby for at least an hour 1 evening. Having a maintenance person there at nights was a plus and is usually unheard of at most hotels nationwide except for the 4 star properties of course. I never had a chance to eat any of the free breakfast because every morning there were at least 40-50 people enjoying it so anytime I tried to grab a bite, what I wanted wasn't available or it was time to put the breakfast away until the next day. The only problems I had during my stay were mostly minor, like the size of the bathroom in my room was way too small and very hard to navigate comfortably, being near the elevator and constantly hearing the dinging sound even over the sound of my air conditioner and television in the room, my door had a loud creaking noise in it when you open & closed it but I had maintenance spray it with WD40 before I checked out so hopefully that works for the next guest. I also noticed that the swimming pool was dirty for at least 3 days in a row, not sure if or how often it was cleaned but didn't get too use that either. I also stayed 2 additional days and unfortunately during that time both the internet service in the Business room was out and so was the vending machine closest to my room. I also had a problem gaining entrance to the hotel on the swimming pool side because the door wouldn't open when I used my room key, but I told the desk agent on duty about it and it was fixed within the hour. The last problem I had was on a Saturday night between 9pm & 1150pm and that was the room above me making lots of noise with kids that were continuo Devamı

This hotel was a last-minute purchase, so we got a super reasonable rate. It was very close to Universal and a convenient drive to Downtown Disney (where we ate dinner). The breakfast was just ok, but because it was free, that made it more than ok. FREE WIFI, awesome amenities: ironing board, coffee maker, fridge, comfortable bed, all you need for a comfortable stay including breakfast. The only thing that didn't work was the heat for the whirpool's water in the downstairs fitness area...but I didn't go for the whirlpool. Nice fitness center.

Hotel is less than 1 mile from hotel. You can walk to Universal and Island of adventure, but a free shuttle will pick you up at the hotel and drop you off at front gates. Taxi ride from park was $10.00 or you can take the shuttle (only one pick up per day)

Had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was good. King suite was beautiful. Did not use the pool... too cold. clean towels and fresh linen everyday. Staff was very nice. Walk to several resturants. I always stay at the Wingate. Very kid friendly and by adding that, The hotel is very quiet!

A nice hotel to stay in if you're going to Universal Studios. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again if in Orlando.

Unlike the name, this hotel is NOT the closest one to Universal Studios. Walking there was out of the question but they did provide 1 shuttle in the a.m. and 2 returning in the evening. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating since we needed a late check out and to hang out until our late afternoon flight.

The hotel is very clean and confortable

I recently stayed at Wingate on 1-8-11. The hotel was very convenient to Universal and it came with a continental breakfast. Typical breakfast, not great, but did have a waffle maker so it's hard to mess those up! The hotel itself was quiet and comfortable. The beds were also pretty decent. Not a bad hotel. Great location. Check out at 11am not a big deal until I got a wake up call at 11:45. Incredably unprofessional. Didn't have the nerve to speak to me and offer a friendly reminder

Booked king room for two nights to attend Bowl Game at Citrus Bowl. Location was good to get to stadium and around town. Unfortunately our room (115) was opposite elevators on ground floor and we were kept awake by repeated 'pinging' of elevators and the rolling of bags across tile floor! Front desk said that they did not have another room, so were […] not able to move. We stuffed towels along the bottom of the door to help quieten the noise!! They really should not have built a room right by the elevators. The chlorine smell from the nearby indoor hot tub didn't help to make our stay any better. Luckily we were gone all day, so we were still abel to enjoy the game!! Staying at the hotel would be fine for location, price, etc just don't stay in Room 115!! Devamı

Hotel room service had a hard time keeping up with the crowd!! Skimpy on the towels, shampoo and soap. Needed a little more suprevision from mgt.

Hotel and room were clean and comfortable. The location was excellent for visiting multiple theme parks. The complimentary breakfast was the only let down in my opinion, however the close proximity to an IHOP made it a minor inconvenience. I would stay here again

My stay in Orlando was great for Christmas this year and thanks to the friendly staff and location of the hotel to Universal Studios. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you!

Roaches in my bed and in the bathroom sink and on the floor

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. While our room was clean you could see previous water damage on the ceiling. The AC unit worked very well, but it was hard to regulate temperature. We just kept the room cold and that is a great thing for Florida. The water pressure in the shower was horrible, but we got clean. We were very close to Universal […] Studios and Islands of Adventure. We did not use the shuttle service because we have a season pass that includes parking, but they have a great shuttle service. There was free breakfast and free parking that is a PLUS in Orlando, FL. The breakfast was good, but some of the people eating were a little disgusting with how they handled the food. That does not reflect poorly on the hotel staff, but poor manners from the guests. Our overall stay was good and I would recommend this hotel especially if you get a great deal through Hotels.com. If we would have had better water pressure it would have made all the difference. Devamı
