Avila Hotel - Willemstad

Fabulous! The food on site was extremely expensive, so we mostly ate food from supermarket.The view was gorgeous from our balcony and having the sea and a pool was great.

We enjoyed our stay at the Avilla particularly because the staff was extremely accomodating. We had booked a room in the Octagon wing which is newer but we had no view and the room was VERY small. We moved to the older wing, where the room was larger and has a great ocean view but was a littlle run down. Room aside, the setting of the hotel is lovely […] and it is in a convenient location - walking distance to a number of excellent restaurants. It was a little far to walk into Punda so we were glad we had a car. Devamı

great hotel close to downtown , the food is great at all the restaurants in the hotel. the staff is extremely pleasant and very friendly and helpful , they filled all of our requests. even upgraded us to a fantastic ocean view room. there a other restaurants just a short walk away that are great also, such as Penne de Vino a must do restaurant and Rozenthals.Also […] you must enjoy the blues bar on thursdays and saturdays , they offer some of the best local talents. Downtown is a 10 minute taxi ride away, or you can walk, with hundreds of shops..We were honored with the Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands staying at the hotel while we were there Devamı

Love the Avila! Professional staff (especially Reception) and well maintained grounds. Belle Alliance Room well equipped (although no need for a kitchenette as had no intention of cooking!) but could do with a couple of comfortable chairs rather that the plastic bucket seats provided. Also needs a couple of loungers on the balcony. Next time, will stay […] in the Octagon Superior rooms as more modern and airy. Overall, a well run hotel and happily, close to the shops! Devamı

The Avilla beachfront area is VERY Beautiful, it looks like a scene from a post ard. However you can tell the island is up and coming, because there was quite a bit of road construction occuring. The Avilla is on the same street as 3 fine dining restaurants and outside of a local bus stop, so it's east get around town. The room was without a clock, […] and only had 3 english cable channels (ABC, TNT, and CNN) but goes to paradise and watches TV. All in all a beautiful island with wonderful diverse people! Devamı

We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with a two-week stay at the Avila. The friendly staff, excellent cuisine (we at almost all our meals in the hotel restaurants), and the superior beachfront combined to make our celebration a 10+ visit in Curacao.

Actually the staff is wonderful and very accommodating. Unfortunately we were in a "Belle Alliance" room and that section is under construction. Listened to roto hammers from 9am till 5pm six of our seven days. No one at Hotels.com warned us about the construction! Also we were on the third floor and the elevator in this building was out of order five […] of our six nights. Had to carry the bads down two flights on the morning we left. The food was more expensive at the hotel than at like restaurants in town and the drinks also were priced higher than other bars. The beach is great, pool was also good. Again, the staff was nice, and once all the construction is complete it will probably be a great place. It was quite a distance from town and we spent approx. $200 on taxi's. Even with the hotel free shuttle twice a day there are places you want to go that require a car or taxi.. We liked the island but would stay closer in town next trip, without the construction noise. La atención es espectacular. El hotel está muy bien dotado y tienes dos pequeñas playas privadas excelentes. La habitación tiene todo lo que se necesita. El hotel cuenta con un servicio de Shuttle que ahorra en transporte ya que los taxis son costosos. Sin embargo el hotel está tan bien ubicado que los taxis no son tan costosos como los de otros hoteles. […] Lo mejor de Curacao es la amabilidad de las personas en toda la isla. O Avila superou em muito as nossas expectativas. Trata-se de uma propriedade extremamente bem cuidada em frente ao mar do Caribe. O pessoal é extremamente simpático e prestativo. Muitos se esforçam para falar português. Os corais em frente ao hotel são espetaculares. (Acroporas, coral cérebro, coral de leque, gorgonias, etc.). Muitos peixinhos multicoloridos, […] moreias, barracudas.... Basta máscara e snorkel. A água do mar é morninha, como no Nordeste. Às 6h da manhã já estávamos fazendo snorkel! Mas, para muitos, é apenas um pedaço do paraíso com suas praias particulares para relaxar, comer, relaxar, comer, relaxar... O Café da manhã é farto e completo. Os restaurantes do hotel, muito bons. Comparando-se com os preços praticados no Brasil, a relação custo / benefício é excelente. Devamı

Men is druk bezig om het hotel te renoveren. Wij zaten echter in een suite die ik het best kan verwoorden als "vergane glorie". Ook rook het wat muf op de kamer. Voor de rest een uitstekend hotel met uiterst vriendelijk personeel. Behulpzaam en professioneel.

Muy buen hotel, me encantaron sus playas y su comodidad, muy buenos los restaurantes, se lo recomendaria a un amigo.

Fantastic Hotel

A friend and I were taking a week off reserved for relaxation and exploration of the Caribbean. After searching through hotels.com and other review-sites online we chose Avila Hotel because of the many balanced (which suggest honesty) but generally positive reviews. Avila's general management and hospitality principle seems to be "A little more than […] you expected". It shows from when you arrive at the reception and you are served a chilled nonalholic drink just to 'land' on, while they find your reservation. I have only experienced that kind of hospitality and expectations management at top tier hotels in Asia (Mandarin Oriental etc.) and was repeatedly positive surprised during our stay at the Avila. Avila is a resort hotel, but unlike the very large resorts crammed with guests and special offers that makes you feel like a cash cow waiting to be bled dry - it has been built, and is run on, making avilable those little things that you need. Its relaxed, down-to-earth and very appealing. You can take your breakfast at the hotel restaurant, or walk a little and take it a their local version of "starbucks", complete with newspapers, a caramel macchiato or whatever you might like. We booked an Octagon Superior room but was upgraded, perhaps due to the off-season timing and had an excellent stay in their Octagon Deluxe room. Nicely designed, simple but elegant. Very clean rooms with an attentive and detail-oriented staff. The hotel is located south of the left-side of Willemstad (Punda) and it takes about 15mins of walking to get from the hotel to the city. If one doesn't feel like a little walk (We came to appreciate it, getting to move around a little!) the hotel reception also offers Budget car rental (with pickup at the hotel) or taxi bookings. Avila handled all of our requests. On Wednesday we met with the current staff manager Alice Crafton and had a very pleasant conversation, including getting some of the history of the family owned place. Alice has an appeal Devamı

La estadia en el hotel fue maravillosa, tenia cierto temor de que no llenara nuestras expectativas pero todo fue estupendo. Toda la familia (que incluye 2 niños de 8 y 12 años ) la paso muy bièn. Recomiendo ampliamiente este hotel.

Espectacular Las habitaciones, el mantenimiento, los servicios, las comidas y sobre todo la gente muy amable y muy atenta. Recomiendo ampliamante este hotel para parejas en luna de miel y tambien para aquelas parejas que desean descansar, ya que tiene todas las comodidades, una piscina espectacular y las playas muy limpias, con una maravillosa vista […] al Mar. achei o melhor custo benefício! Quarto espaçoso com uma vista íncrivel para o mar, café da manha mais q completo. Chegamos a visitar outros hoteis.. digo q este e melhor q o Hilton!
