didnt like the service or hotel. The rooms dnt look nothing like the lobby or entrance of hotel you'll be fooled once in your room

the hotel was nice and quit, location was not bad but the rooms are extremely small. bathroom was so small it was hard to get in and out of. the hotel was historic i understand that, but there are a few things that the hotel could have done to renovate like new carpet. also you have to pay for parking which was not cool.

The lobby looked nice and the staff was pleasant, but once I got to my floor, I knew i had made a big mistake. The carpets were old and worn and just horrible in the room. The curtains had to have been 80 years old and did not cover the windows. The heat controls did not work. The TV was old. THe sheets were threadbare and the the pillows flat - need […] I go on - it was a disaster. They really have to renovate these rooms. Would not stay again or recommend it to anyone. We booked this because our travel plans changed at the last minute. Even though our plane did not arrive until well after midnight, they were still happy to check us in at 2.30 in the morning. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accomodating. It is in a good location depending on what you want to do, a five minute walk from the metro to Hollywood […] etc. and pretty close to some good bars and restaurants downtown. In saying that it is called the historic mayfair for a reason: None of the fittings have been repaired or replaced since 1982. Tiny bathroom with an uncomfortable shower and we had to ask the doorman to let us into our room on the 14th floor whenever we wanted to get in because the key machine was broken, which was extremely annoying, especially if he wasn't around or if you just realised you left something in your room when you got to the lobby. The rate was pretty good though, and the $8 breakfast buffet was good value. I would stay here If you aren't planning on spending a lot of time hanging out in your room. Devamı

The hotel was just down the street from L.A. Live and the Staples Center, with off-street parking which was manned with a guard 24/7. This made me feel really safe parking our car overnight. The lobby is clean with an historic character and friendly staff. The room was clean with nice quality toiletries; and the bed and pillows were really comfortable. […] I've stayed in many other hotels with a much higher price tag and a bigger reputation, but have not been as comfortable. since one wud land up going to hollywood and beverley hills and spend very less time in the hotel, this place is good as it gives u proximity to the metro station and a reasonable price range. the rooms are clean and place is well kept. the guy at the desk was very nice and helpful. they got us taxi cabs in a jiffy when ever we needed it and helped […] us decide on the tours accourding to our schedule. will come again. The price and convenient location made the hotel ideal. however, the Mayfair does not have a restaraunt on premises. My TV did not work, none of the computers in the business center were connected to the Internet.

this hotel was so horrible the room keys didnt work and the shower would switch from hot to cold while you were in the shower andthe tub didnt drain it was close enough to walk to the nokea but the naborhood to walk their not good at night

found roaches in the room the air condition system is central so you don't have control over the comfort of your room, at least there is a window to open to let insome cool air, if it is cool But, it is close to downtown to LA, and in walking distance the Staples Center.

The hotel was clean, well-kept and located conveniently to downtown Los Angeles. My only reservations involved the small room, less than full size bed (I am 6' tall) and tiny bathroom. But the room rate was moderate enough that the reservations could be overlooked.

I stayed there for three days, it was a pleasent experience.

The shower was really small. The room need an urgent remodeling. The curtains are dirty and looks old like the furniture. The carpets of the all place were ugly old and dirty. And the front desk is really depressing!!!

Convenience of hotel location, was my decision to book in Mayfair at Los AngelesCA, they should have complementary breakfast for those rates. Overall great hotel for the money.

The hotel is obviously undergoing a renovation - looks like it could be great again in the future - right now, it's a hodge-podge of weird stuff. The floors were dirty, the soaking tub had a bench seat, but didn't have a water spout; there was no place to stand to take a shower, so I had to sit under the shower head. Ridiculous.

The spot is perfect if you have shopping and business for the weekend in downtown L.A. The bathroom is beyond small, you have to scooch around the door to close it behind you. And the two beds were hard as rocks! The view on the other hand was way cool, and you can go up on the roof and check out the landscape!

The hotel is very old but it served its purpose. For the most part the people where helpful. The maid service was concerned about what I needed. I needed a refrigerator and they were happy to bring me one for a fee which I felt was a little high. The hallways and common areas need upgrading and so do the rooms. The air conditioning does not work and […] the carpet in the rooms was worn and need to be replaced. However, if you are looking for a no frills cheap hotel near the fashion district downtown, then the Mayfair is not a bad deal for the price. I would stay there again despite it all. Devamı

The hotel is very old but the room was pretty clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel was ok for the price, the buffet breakfast was good every morning ($8), but there is not a microwave in the whole hotel, the ice machine was broke, and they keep the heater on in the whole building so even if you try to turn on the air in your room warm air blows out, so we were in out room sweating. Parking is $10 everyday which isn't fair […] since guest have already paid to stay Devamı

The Hotel was a nice place to hang my hat+-+

close to all my business and leisure needs is a must STAY

What a cool, vintage hotel this is ... and in a neighborhood that's got a nice mix of locals (with taco trucks and the like), tourists, and young urban adventurers enjoying the shabby elegance of the emerging downtown scene. And many of them actually walking around. (I didn't realize anyone in L.A. used their feet as a mode of transportation.) The hotel […] itself has been mostly renovated, but it still reeks of the1920s in terms of architecture, lobby furniture, and overall aesthetic. The staff is wonderful as well -- helpful, multicultural, and friendly without being patronizing. And the price sure was right. The downstairs lobby is a fine place to sit around and have passing conversations. Excellent garage parking, too, for a real bargain price. Devamı

bathroom shower/tub very small with no water pressure room nice/ comfortable but again small.

This had to be one of my worst hotels experiences ever. Suffice to say: I did not stay for the night ...and checked out after less than two hours. I just fled. I just could not imagine spending the night there. Believe me, I am not that picky but the room was hardly clean and totally depressing, as if it had never been renovated since at least WWII […] (and I may not be far from the truth here). The bathroom was hardly bigger than a closet (no kiddding, I first even thought there was no bathroom at all...). The rate was very low indeed, but in my opinion that was still too much. I would not stay there even if it was free. A Motel 6 is at least 10 times nicer than this pre-historic hotel. STAY AWAY Devamı

Everything about this place is ok. The service lagged a bit. This is not a place you would stay for a honeymoon but more like if you got wasted and need a place to crash. Parking is $10. Slept ok.

Before I booked with the Mayfair I did my research. Yes, the bathrooms are very tiny, my fiance hit his head on the bathroom doorknob when standing after sitting on the commode. The King size beds are two twins put together, and if you snuggle while you sleep, your right on the split of the two beds. Room was clean, price was cheap for the one night. […] Great view and no screens on our window which opened up to the city on the 12th floor! Roof access to sneak around and take pictures! I wanted breakfast in bed, but couldn't have it since it was a buffet breakfast, even if I bought each item ala cart! That put me in a sour mood for the morning. $10 overnight parking, which I would most definately recommend. Pay your $50 deposit IN CASH!!! That way they have to return it immediately upon checkout. It worked for us and I will definately be returning due the location to the garment disctrict and the wedding stuff we need to take care of. And oh, the shower is skinny and the shower curtain will stick to your legs, but if your not a high falutin snob and you need a great location and the right price, then this hotel definately works! We found the hotel to be an excellent location near the freeways and it is a great value for the price we paid and we would go there again. The junior suite was very nice especially for the price.We were able to get 3 rooms for the price for one room at a more expensive. The rooms were very quiet. And the staff were awesome and very pleasant to deal […] with....overall and excellent stay and a great bargain. And the parking attendants were awesome too....!!!! Devamı

Walls were very dirty. Room key didn't work the first time, had to go back down to have them reprogramed.

LOVE THIS HOTEL AND WILL STAY ON NEXT TRIP TO LA

This hotel is old and showing its age. Long term maintenance plans seem to have gone out the window. We shopped in the garment distict during our stay so for the location and price it meet our needs quit nicely. However, I would never chose to bring a family here nor make this a destination for vacation.

We were awoken to a group of women fighting in the hallway at 3:45 in the morning. Tried to call the front desk several times to report the incident but seems whoever man's the front desk was sleeping.

Location at night is a little shady, take a cab. "king" size bed = 2 singles pushed together(mattresses too) not so good for couple snuggling. Water pressure & shower set-up is a joke on tall people that like to rinse off. overall tho, not too bad for the $. On site parking garage is cool, (for 10 extra bucks). I'd stay there again in a pinch..

The pictures from the website did not show what the hotel is like. The lobby is the only nice area of the hotel. The receptionist stated that I was getting one of their best rooms, and the room was very old and not kept up. The bed was hard and the sink did not work. I would not stay there again and would certainly not recommend.
