Great location you can walk around south beach don´t even need a car. Hotel just too expensive for what they offer, staff are rude and rooms are just not what you see in the pictures.

I have stayed at the Chesterfield several times and just love it. The location is perfect – close to beach and shopping with Barneys NY just across the street. Rooms are small but this is normal for historic hotels in South Beach. Room is well designed and also has a huge plasma. Love the bar – cute and simple -- plus free drinks.

chesterfield is a hotel on a good location on south beach. It got a noisy bar which you can hear from your room and pretty slacked service.

Hotel offered a great location about a block from the beach (just behind the craziness of Ocean Drive). Hotel now consists of the main building and 2 adjacent buildings, once the Hotel Leon and Lily Guesthouse. I was in an adjacent building that offered security code access, and larger, more comfortable rooms, with ample light and large screen TV. Booked over Thanksgiving for a very reasonable price and compares very favorably to all other boutique properties in the area. SErvice was also very helpful.

Disgusting Hotel..Toilet seats are broken. The water from shower will be all over the restroom. Beds are ugly. Lighting is dark. The airporet shuttle is the good part. Free drinks from 7 to 8. Only limited basic drinks. Go to Whitelaw instead. Same owner but lot better hotel. We are glad we had split our south beach stay in 3 hotels.

The service could have been a lot better, and the staff was unpleasant.

The main problem with this hotel is that on checking I was told that the hotel was overbooked and would be moved to a sister hotel. I did not want this and had to fight with them and call Hotel.com to get them to intervene in getting the room I had booked. Hotel .com was not very enthusiastic about resolving my problem.

Thought I would try this property, as I'd not stayed there before. The location was great, right on Collins Ave. But when I arrived, they didn't have record of my reservation. They worked that out eventually, but the lobby was loud at night, as they had a DJ trying for a 'lounge' atmosphere. The room was small, not fitting much more than a king size bed. The bathroom floor, walls & sink were concrete, which retained a moldy type of smell. Overall, I thought they went for modern design over comfort; don't think I would stay here again.

Not a family oriented hotel, lots of noise, looks old and dirty. Look better in pictures. Smell like urine.

No parking lot Unkind staff Worst hotel ever stayed

My only comment is that this hotel has several buildings to it. To get to my room I had to walk out of the main lobby and go 2 buildings down. I was worried That I would get a sub-standard room or a room that was not in the photo gallery. I was happy to see that the room was the same as the photo. Also had an ipod dock on the radio. Not a bad experience at all.

Pros: - Walking distance to Ocean Drive hangouts, food, clubs, & the beach - Lower Price than most surrounding hotels - Bar and food in lobby - Big, comfortable bed - Big LCD television Cons: - Paid parking, which is valet, not an onsite lot. - No two-bed rooms available - There is no tub, rainshower falls straight on bathroom floor - Decor was not very attractive: old wood floors, small bathroom with mirrored walls - Window view into an alley

We stayed only one night and had room on the first floor, in the building next to the reception area. When checkin in the staff was friendly but we had to wait for ever for the bell man to show us our room, so we started wondering around on our own and found it finally, in the next building. It had a nice courtyard feel to it. Room: hardwood floors were a nice surprise, but the downside is that you can hear every step upstairs. Loved the funky deco in the room and in the bath. Unfortunately you can hear everything thru the doors, but thats SoBe. Would go back for the right price.

This was a quick weekend get away and it was good. One block away from the beach walking distant to everything...and the price was just right

is an Amazing place i do work for a resort in orlando florida and I do know what are the prices around, everything was nice jaccusi at the last floor of the hotel just imaging at 2 or 3 am wachting stars at the last floor of the hotel in miami south beach, happy hour 7 to 8 free alcohol drinks 3 minutes away from the beach, clean and a big flat screen tv i would go back.

We stayed the night before our cruise. Great location. Easy walk to the beach and resturants. Friendly staff and clean room. We will stay here again.

I stay in South Beach quite often. I have been there on vacation many times but now I am there regularly for business. The shower was a little weird in that the drain was on the floor and there was no division btwn floor n shower basin. Very modern, minimalist design. Bar inside the hotel and it wasn't too loud. Good hotel overall. Parking sucks!

This hotel would have been excellent had we not seen a couple of roaches crawling around.Pretty gross!!! The decor was very nice, the location was perfect. The front lobby was a mini club scene, especially during the open bar. The staff was friendly.Everything about this hotel was good except the roaches so I would not recommend it.

I had decided to stay an extra day in miami, but didn't have a place to stay for the night. I booked this hotel online and was amazed by the room when I checked in. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was perfect. Would most definitely stay again.

THE BAD: When I checked in they gave us keys to a room and when we walked in someone elses clothes and personal items were all over the beds. the lights in our room kept flashing on and off when you turn them on. The sink in the bathroom was spraying water and had a crack running down the middle of the sink that water dripped out of. Very dark and musty. They charged me $4 for some cheese crackers that we did not eat and they will not reverse the fee. THE GOOD: the beds are soft and its close to the beach.

The only thing I would suggest is the showers, they need to put something to prevent the whole floor bathroom to get wet. everything else was fine

I have been to Miami many times and this is my first time staying at this hotel...the front desk was very nice and curtious and I really enjoyed the atmosphere...It also is one block from the beach- I recommend this hotel on your next stay in Miami.

We got a room with two queen beds. Pros: Good location, very close to nightlife and the beach. Room itself was clean, beds were comfortable, service was good. Cons: The main drawback is that there is no ventilation in the bathroom. You stay right on the concrete and the whole floor becomes wet after shower. The stairs and the corridor were dark and smell bad (there was no sign of it in the room though). Other thoughts: We parked on the street, but you can ask for Valet parking for $30/day. Overall, we enjoyed staying in the hotel.

Rooms are uncomfortably small and cramped including the bathroom. The lighting in this hotel is terrible! I stayed for 10 days and lived out of my suitcase because there weren't any dressers and only one hanger in the closet. Friends of mine also stayed here and their room did not even have a telephone. The music in the bar is exceptionally loud and absolutely not condusive to a relaxing stay. Happy hour in the bar was nice and the bartenders were very charming. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. In short, I will not return.

This was a great hotel with lots of charm. It is only one block from Ocean Drive in South Beach, well within walking distance of surroundings. The only downfall was that from the minute you walk in, you are inundated with the smell of cigarette smoke. There is a bar on the first floor and I suppose that is the source of the odor.

Wish I could have actually stayed at this hotel, but upon chcking I was informed that my room had a leak as a result of the heavy rain, and I was subsequently transferred to the Catalina down the road.

Great Location. Loved Happy hour but they do need more variety in the drink selection. Rooms are dark but you will get use to it. All in all I would stay here again.

I use to live in Miami Beach and moved North, I choose "The Chesterfield" due to the location, its is close to ocean drive and in walking distance to the beach, bars, etc. When I booked the room I reserved a king size bed, when we got to the hotel I was told that there were only double beds available and the man "Sammy" that was working the desk was unpleasant. We got to the room which was a decent size but the lighting was poor and when I booked the room online I was told that there was wireless internet access through out the hotel, FALSE! Sammy informed us that we needed to hang out in the lobby in order to have internet access,the bathroom sink had a HUGE fracture crack and there were no accessable outlets in the room. They do offer two hour free happy hour my word of advise order as many drinks as you can every person at the hotel will be in the lobby at those hours and you are limited as to what is free. Over all the room was quite and the location was good, if you are looking for a place to rest your head after a late night you would be better off at a hostel.

This hotel is ok in terms of appearance. The rooms had large tv screens and an ipod dock. These are the pluses. There is no pool, the staff are rude and unhelpful and the hotel hallway smells of damp. Also the rooms are very dark and the staff say it's due to the "art deco" theme. Nice deco not much else! Oh yeah don't expect breakfat (as in food!)

In the ad it said that hotel has parking, in reality this is vallet parking right on the street in front of the hotel.

The rooms were dark and the air was inadequate. We changed rooms twice. In the first room the toilet did not work and the air conditioner was broke. In the second room the safe did not work. The maid service did not always bring clean towels and the room wasn't sweep clean. The carpeting in the hallways was old, and there was a slight smell of mold in the air. The rooms are very small and the lobby is small as well. The pictures shown on the website made everything look much better than it was. The location was great for south beach, but the hotel needs to renovate.

Trendy, clean, spacious room just a block from the ocean in South Beach -- and at an unbeatable price!!

This was the second time I stayed at the Chesterfield, which uses the Lilly next door as part of its complex. It's a block from the ocean in the heart of South Beach. The rooms are stylishly deco and comfy. Daily parking is $30. The HDTV was set on the wall with a 20-degree list to starboard, so it was kinda hard to watch. Be warned: the 8:30 am garbage truck sounds like a revisit of Hurricane Andrew, only LOUDER!
