Postcard Inn - St. Petersburg

I've stayed at the Postcard Inn several times, but it seems to have really lost its sparkle. We stayed over the weekend and the pool area wasn't cleaned until close to lunch time. After a late night of drunken rowdiness, there were lots of interesting things for the kids to find in the shallow end. :-( Found a bargoer urinating outside of our door... […] during the afternoon. THe hotel is old, but it's in good shape. My kids liked the pool and ping pong table. My husband and I liked the bar. The room was a decent size, but it was a little noisy. Convenient location. We were only there 2 nights and spent most of the time with friends out so we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel.

This is a nice little beach hotel with a great beach bar and a really good BBQ resturaunt attached. The room was nicely decorated and clean and the bed was comfortable. However, luxury it is not. We stayed in room 153 which was on the north side of the hotel facing the parking lot and near the resturaunt. Bad bad bad. There was so much noise that it […] was impossible to sleep! The resturaunt received an early morning delivery and it sounded like someone dropping lead pipes! Also our shower trickled water and made a shower difficult. Overall I liked the hotel but hated our perticular room. Pay the extra money for a pool side bungalow or a courtyard view!!! Devamı

We stayed here one night during Spring Break on our way to addtional locations. The Hotel was acceptable for our needs. It is a little dated. The decor is unique with surfboards and such. The biggest drawback was the bar/restaurant on the way to the beach...loud and obnoxious drinking fools. What do I expect though during spring break?? This is an older well kept property with friendly staff and a great location. Very pleased and will be back.

We had never been to St Pete's Beach and really didn't like the neighborhood. What a contrast to St Petersburg itself which was beautiful and full of things to do - from great art to grand prix. As for the PCI, I read other reviews about how thin the walls were, but couldn't really imagine how bad it was till we had neighbors the second night. The bed […] was comfortable if not Marriott quality. The carpet was pretty surely woven recycled plastic bottles. The bathroom was cleaner than I would have given credit for based on other criteria. All that said, the pool is better than average and I pretty much forgot everything else I might have complained about while on the beautiful beach. The beach towels from the hotel were nice and plentiful. We had a car so didn't use the snack bar or regular bar, but the location of being right on the beach has to count for a lot. However for the hotel itself, I think it cost way too much. Devamı

I love this hotel for the young casual feel that it has. The decor is Santa Barbara surf chic with surfboards and old surfing photos in the rooms, the large pool is serioussly happening with plenty of chairs and a row of beds at one end. Right behind it is an awesome beach bar and food shack with to die for pulled pork sandwiches. And directly behind […] that is the top rated St. Pete Beach. What more could you ask for! Loved everything about PCI except the food. The beachwodd burgers joint was awful and we had to wait for 30 minutes even though there were numerous empty tables. The snack bar sandwiches were average at best. Great party hotel with terrible food.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Postcard Inn for a wedding we were in town for. We liked the courtyard and pool area, especially the beachside bar. The rooms and bathroom could use some serious updating. Also you can hear absolutely everything through the walls (next door, above you, and outside). The hotel plays music outside from about 10am until […] 10pm so if your room is facing the courtyard/pool you can hear it perfectly which means no sleeping in, naps, or going to bed early. The beach bar is awesome because there was a band that played on Saturday. I don't think I'd bring young kids here because of the crowd the bar attracts. Devamı

As is true of many beach hotels, parking is an issue. There were not enough parking spaces near the hotel. Overflow parking was on an adjacent dirt lot property about 50-70 yards away, and even this lot was full. The lobby has a "polished" concrete floor The room (and hotel) has a "surfing" theme. Our room had a full wall mural of a surfer riding a […] wave along with an actual surfboard in the corner. The furniture, bathrooms, and architecture made us feel as if we had time traveled back to the 1960's-1970's. While we were there, the hotel had set up the garden area for a reception. About 10 tables were set up and it looked great from our 2nd floor vantage point. When the reception was finished, the staff worked quickly to clear the garden area. The hotel is right on the beach and has a pool, a snack shack, and bar near the beach area. Drink prices were comparable to other bars in the area. Two beach volleyball courts were set up when we visited. The beach bar had live musical entertainment in the evening. Attached to the hotel at the front is a BBQ restaurant that was pretty good and reasonably priced. The initial glass mugs they had on our table were dirty, but the waiter quickly remedied the situation. When we needed hotel staff assistance, they were friendly and helpful. Devamı

Very very thin walls. Actually thought their was a kid in our room but he was staying in the room next to us. We could hear everything. No hair dryer or fridge. Most comfortable beds ever! Slept great even with the thin walls. Excellent location. Walked on the beach each night. Very clean beach and nice beach bar with live music. Wonderful time. I would […] go back and stay again. This hotel is perfect for the price and if you wanna be as close to the ocean as possible. We had a great time and wish we could have stayed longer. They hold events in the court yard at night sometimes. The walls are very thin i n the bathrooms I noticed so be careful what you say lol.

Great place, great location.... very clean, very friendly workers. Pool very nice and on site and literally a few feet to the beach.... :) The only thing was the temp in the room was hard to manipulate and control, and could not be regulated. If you like it cooler, than you'd be fine.... we wanted it a bit warmer. The maintenance folks were great though […] and very accommodating. They gave us a space heater that worked just fine. :) Devamı

awesome place to stay!

The Postcard Inn offered a relaxing and unique spot. The comfortable and friendly staff fit in nicely with an unbelievably great location right on the beach. Wish I could have stayed longer but I'll be back.

Cute, groovy, music at the tiki bar, weddings, so close to the beach... a real Jimmy Buffet kinda place. We reserved 1 night and ended up staying 5 nights!

My husband and I stayed one night on the ground level with entrance off the parking lot. Desk Staff exceptional...helpful...friendly. It was definitely dated but really good value for the money. It had a wonderfully comfortable King bed, Nice linens, great water pressure shower,clean carpet, the walls were thick enough to provide good sleeping. We watched […] the sun go down on the beautiful clean beach. It appeared as though some major upgrading was going on to the grounds. Lovely outdoor bonfire on at 7:30 pm. The lobby had old Florida feel and was charming. There was plenty to do...great private beach, live singer at the outdoor bar...he was awesome. We found the ice maker upstairs on the south wing to be old and not working, however, the north wing has a brand new ice maker that put out more than enough ice for our beers and bottled water needs. The pool was lovely and clean. Take a couple of your own beach towels...theirs are small. We ate supper in the adjoining BBQ grill....food was outstanding...margaritas the best! We can't afford luxury hotels so this was perfect for us. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to the thrifty traveller. Devamı

We enjoyed our stay. Water in tub didn't empty well, but room was clean. Walls are very thin here..can hear everything people are saying in adjoining room. Likely coming through vents. One night had some noisy people above us at midnight, but otherwise it was pretty quiet. Heated swimming pool great. Beach very nice!

Whether you pick a hotel because of it's location, amenities, staff, etc. I can guarantee that the Postcard Inn will suit your needs. The tiki bar is awesome and always has fun entertainment and you truly can't beat the friendliness of the staff. When in town I only stay here - Can't wait for my next stay!

The hotel was really cute with fun decor!! The walls however were worse than paper thin!! It was almost comical that the wall were even there!! The location of the hotel could not be beat!! We will be back, but with ear plugs!! One other thing, the pool was beautiful, but stll too cold outside to swim in! I was really looking forward to using the hot […] tub but it was ice cold... We spent our last night in Florida at The Postcard Inn. What a cute place! The motel has been nicely renovated with a retro, surf style. The location on the beach is fantastic too! We loved the room (which was very clean and nicely furnished), the pool and grounds were nice, and the tiki bar on the beach adds to the overall ambience. A great casual […] location to just hang out on the beach and relax. They even have a bbq restaurant on the premises! The only drawback is that the walls are thin, but not so important unless you want a quiet place to rest. I highly recommend this hotel and will come back again! Devamı

The Postcard Inn is an older 50's style motel that uses a surfer theme and funky colors to disguise an aging facility. The room was clean and comfortable complete with surf board, but provided only the basics. The safe was broken It has a great beach, courtyard and pool. Fun for a night or two. More adult oriented.

It's right on the beach and has a fun outside bar that has entertainment and happy hour. If you want all the services that a five star hotel could offer, this is not the place for you, but if you want to be on the beach in an economical, fun atmostphere, then this is definitely the place.

Right on the beach, with tikki bar and lg pool. Neighboring hotels had bars on beach with live music etc. Fun place. Was a little dated but clean. Great location would go back again. Had restaurant on site with good food too!

This hotel was amazing. A wonderful old Florida atmosphere off of Gulf Blvd (where hotels are a dime a dozen). Wonderful customer service by all employees This place is well maintained and clean. Don't let the age of the building fool you. Had a wonderful room off the courtyard... the bed was comfortable and decor appropriate fun but not tacky. They […] offer multiple seating areas if you just want to go outside to read a book.. A heated pool... wonderful in February weather when the Gulf temp is in the 60's. Very nice hotel. Not a five star by any means, but the atmosphere was awesome. Music all day, heated pool, big hot tub, a bar, a restaurant, the beach......everything right there. Easy access to area shops and attractions if you feel like shopping. I plan to go back again and again.....

Postcard Inn was a fun place, really enjoyed the beach, pool, and courtyard, very relaxing. Room was comfortable with retro decor. Only problem was the paper thin walls, could hear neighbors talking and shutting doors. Would recommend it to others.

Great vibe, decor and service. This is trully a unique hotel that blends hip with quality and comfort. The pool is big, the bar is fun, and the BBQ restaurant is really good.

Called Friday afternoon soon after I checked out to say that I forgot my granddaughter's jacket. Gave them my phone # and name and requested they contact me when they found it, as I determined it must have gotten mixed up in the sheets because it was white. I was assured I would receive a call and told if I did not to contact the front desk on Monday […] when I returned to stay for an additional nite. Three housekeeping staff employees told me the jacket was on the table in the laundry room on Monday morning and I never got it back! I spoke w/ the head of housekeeping on Monday evening and she was not at all helpful. I called the front desk early this morning (Tuesday) for the third time about this matter and requested this time to speak with the hotel manager and was assured he would return my call late morningl. It is 532 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan 24 and I am still waiting to here from someone! Looks like they are not at all concerned about the people who stay here or our belongings. I have stayed here for more than a decade and am very disappointed! Devamı

The most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed. Every employee was very nice and seemed to enjoy their job. I will be back very soon. I have told everyone I know about it.

The hotel was nice and clean. We had a great time! we had dinner at the restaurant food was very good. for the money it's a great hotel. We will be back again. And the beach was beautiful!!!

Kind of old semi funky place. Shouldn't have to ask for a hair dryer (promptly brought to our room) Rate was great.

I just adored the decor of the hotel. In the common areas, such as the lobby, there are several very inviting spaces where you just WANT to go hang out. The courtyard was beautiful, as was the pool. I loved having breakfast at the snack shack on the beach. Awesome coffee!! And the room was just adorable as well. The sheets and pillows were so comfy! […] But the BEST part of everything was the STAFF. Everyone was so extremely helpful and friendly! The gentleman changing trashbags outside was cheerful and polite. The young man at the front desk told me that he's so happy to come to work because he loves his job and where he works. These positive attitudes are definitely contageous and I very much appreciated this atmosphere. I'm in love with this place and I want to go back. Devamı

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! The walls of this hotel are paper thin, I could hear everything from the adjacent rooms. Also, the hotel has inadequate security to handle the very loud guests that congregate in the courtyard below the rooms. The noise prevented us from sleeping and the hotel did very little. I tried to contact the manager the next day, […] but he would not take my call. The hotel is a little old, not very clean and certainly was not worth the sleep I gave up to stay there. Devamı

A retro place to stay. Right on the beach and a great atmosphere.

The decoration is very well thought and the room very spacious; The bathroom was too small; Just a couple of steps from a very nice private beach. The hotel was full with students and very noisy at night in the new year period; The restaurant had a waiting time of 30 mn, so we had to go out to eat. Overall good quality for price, original place to stay; […] would go back at a different period in year to avoid the noise!! Devamı
