I have some back problems, and the matress was one of the best I have ever slept on. A lot Of hotel beds are like sleeping on a piece of plywood, but not at this hotel. They are undergoing a major renovation (mild annoyance) Would love to see (and stay) when they are done.

Still having lots of development, but nice enough for a business stay.

Very nice hotel for a great rate. Only complaint is that I had to tell the man at the front desk that I paid a higher price to include breakfast and he acted like he was doing me a favor by getting me breakfast tickets. I would definitely stay there again if in the area!

I know things happen that are sometimes out of the hands of the hotel but it would have been nice to get a percentage off your next stay because of the inconvenience of not having hot water for half a day. Nice hotel tho and great service.....also the desk didn't know much about how to catch the trains to Chicago......hello it's Chicago!!!

My experience at the Renaissance hotel in Northbrook was awesome! The service was excellent: The people at the front desk were warm and welcoming, and he housekeeping was very efficient, discreet, and kind. The hotel rooms are slightly small, but have an amazingly cozy and warm atmosphere, and the air conditioning / heat work very quickly and nicely. The hotel was clean and located close to shopping. Staff very friendly. Would stay here agian.

We've stayed at this hotel before, but they are going through a renovation and the rooms have been re-done very nicely. Even the halls have a nice, clean look. Only thing we missed was a newspaper. Also, charging $3.50 for a bottle of water is really insulting. One or two complimentary bottles would go a long way in making customers happy. Our November stay in this hotel appeared to be on a remodeled or redecorated floor. Everything smelled of new carpet, but rooms seemed very fresh and new.

This hotel is very nice. Has a nice bar, Ruth's Chris' Steak House, and is in a nice area and very easy to find! Parking is easy and free. This hotel is easily located close to the Ravinia Pavillion concert venue. Even though they are renovating, the hotel is still very up to date and quiet.

Great location, but this hotel needs cleaning. The smell of mold was overwhelming. An alarm clock next door to my room began ringing at 3:30 am. Even after calling the front desk, it was 7:30 before it was silenced. I love Marriotts, & esp. Renaissance - this isn't typical for them.

We were extremely disappointed with our recent stay at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel. Everything, from the carpets to the beds to the shower facilities were very disappointing. I think I may have fared better at a 2 or 3 star hotel. I understand this hotel is slated for renovation but that should be prominently displayed on their web page […] so that one knows and understands what they are actually paying for. Devamı

We stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting friends nearby. Great location to be near the North Shore area. Hotel staff was very friendly as well as the restaurant staff. We had smaller kids who also enjoyed the indoor pool. It is very small but they enjoyed the time there.

I stayed here for a conference that was held same site. My room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable, thermostat worked, and I appreciated the Aveda bath products. My flatscreen TV had some video problem, but a call to the desk sent someone up to fix it while I was at the conference and there were no problems afterwards. There was an empty […] in-room small fridge for my use, which was very convenient. The hotel website said there would construction happening as they renovated, but I did not: 1) hear any construction noise, and 2) did not see anything unsightly like walls half taken down or anything. I was too busy to venture outside of the hotel so cannot comment on the surrounds. The associated steak restaurant was pretty good too. This was right off the highway and easy to get to, I was getting dropped off for some workshops in the area as my brother went on North to Wisconsin. Getting to chicago from here without a car was really tough-- 20 dollar cab to lindin (sp?) elevated train station (do not recommend this place if you are doing stuff in the city. We came for our daughters graduation from Evanston and was close enough and idyllically close to the Botanical Gardens which is a must see. The hotel was full of wonderful staff, the most helpful in every way and the most polite like a true five star. The hotel is in need of an overhaul but this is to be expected. This is a very good place close to Chicago Botanic and highland park/deerfield shopping. The botanic is free if you walk, but charges for parking if you drive. I got a great price, but was annoyed by the $10 charge for in-room wireless. (It is free in the lobby). However, some upper level marriott's are still have these charges.

Everything was nice. Not to far from the city and plenty of places eat and shop near by.

My husband decided to surprise me with a quick birthday shopping trip. It was great. The hotel was clean, the staff was warm and attentive. Our room was ready when we arrived at 12:00 in the afternoon. The breakfast was the best.

I have never stayed in the northern city of Northbrook we allways stay downtown however the hotels were very expensive due to it being a marathon weekend . we were very impressed on the hotel the comfort was fantastic and it was very clean. we drove to the end of the purple line and parked and rode the el in to town it made things much easier because […] driving in chicago is tough. Staff all friendly! The drink coupons were well received! Location to Chicago Botanic should really be a drawing point...with free hotel transport, the bontanical entrance is FREE! Although I have no complaints with the staff, I must comment on the hotel dinning and room. We participated in an advertised buffet dinner on Thursday 8/5/10. The pasta buffet was a terrible waste of time and money. The buffet was always short of food, plates and salad. It was the worst I have seen for a buffet. Nobody should have had to pay for that […] meal. The food was not very good and it had to be eaten one item at a time (instead of a meal). We were not happy with the rooms either. We had to change rooms right away due to the next room noise. The walls seemed paper thin and we could hear every word the neighbors were saying. The next room we heard a dog barking both nights. Not restful at all. We were told there was not another room to move to. We are not difficult people, but really needed our rest. That we did not get. Beautiful place and great deal for the price. It has the most comfortable beds and pillows I have ever slept on.The room was large, clean and everything seems very new. Nice pool with ping pong next to it. Hotel is easy to find and free easy parking . No complants and would stay again if in the area.

Only real complaint is the decor is s bit gaudy for my tastes, and it looks like it is in need of an upgrade. Staff werre courteous and helpful.

We were suprised with the hotel room! Great value. The buffet in the morning was very good. Omlets made to order includes beverage for $12.95!

I was in town for business and truly enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance North Shore Hotel. The beds were comfortable, the room had a good amount of space as well. The only things I were not satisfied with was the room service and bar area stopped serving food at 10pm. I had a late meeting which caused me to get back in late so I can't really fault […] the hotel for that. However, if I had an urge to eat late I couldn't. The room was comfortable enough. Service was so-so. We asked for an additional towel to be sent up and it was never delivered. Amenities were average for the 4-star rating. Service in the restaurant was also so-so. We asked for a high chair for our baby and never got one. Free parking was good though.
