Otele girdikten sonra resepsiondaki bekleme sonrası odamıza çıktığımızda resmen sok yasadık. Oda 1965 lerde tadilat gormuş bir daha asla tek kat boya bile sürülmemiş, her bir tarafı resmen dökülüyordu.tv en eski tiplerden sehpasının kapak camlarından biri kırılmış daha dogrusu yoktu. Giriş kapısı sanki gangasterler tarafından hirpalanmis gibiydi. Oda […] çok dar ve babasız kalmıştı. Ama pencereyi açamadım, zaten gerek olmadıgını gece soğukta anladım yarısı kapanmış diğer yarisida sanki kaynaklanmış gibiydi. Kalorifer tam içler acısı. Normal petek var ve elementinin fani ısıyı yayıyor. Tabi normalinde böyle olması gerekir. Kalorifer ısıtsa elektirikli fan da üfleyecek ama nerde? Fan soğuk soğuk ufleyip durdu. Banyo ya gelince..o kadar eski ve pis ki anlatılmaz. Ucuz göçmen çalıştırmaktan temizlik rezalete dönüşmüş..banyodan çıkınca yeniden dezenfekte olmak gerekti. Yerler sürekli pisti. Fotograflarını çektim. Her sabah sürekli çalışan kadınlara odanın temizlenmesi gerektiğini söyledim. Kullandıkları elektirikli süpürge dünya devi usa ya yakışır cinsten anneannemin hovver sapli süpürgesinden oldugundan vakum sifirdi. Kesinlikle tavsiye etmem. Bize verdikleri oda önceki ziyaretçiden sonra yapılmamıştı. Tekrar resepsiyona gelerek yeni bir oda istedik. Gözlerimizle gördüğümüze inanmak istemediler. Sonunda yeni bir oda verdiler. Odalarda en basit ihtiyaç malzemeleri yok. Saç kurutma makinası istedik. Yollayacaklarını söylediler. Hiçbir zaman gelmedi. Bütün sistemleri herkesin hırsız olabileceği […] üzerine kurulmuş. Konum olarak mükemmel. Otel lobisi, lobiden çok bir istasyonu andırıyor ! Binanın şiddetle yenilenmeye ihtiyacı var ! Amerika, hem alt-yapı hem de üst-yapı olarak bir an önce kendini yenilemeli. Yoksa, bu tip binaları Amerikanın "tarihi eserleri" olarak korumak mı istiyorlar ? İnsan hüzünleniyor doğrusu !

Konumu mükemmel. Check in için 1 saat kuyrukta bekledik 2 kişi bakıyordu biri çoğunlukla check out ile ilgileniyordu. Kima gürültüsü dışında herşey iyiydi. Girişte 100 olar depozito alınıyor gidenlerin bilgisine.

It is an old building and it shows age. I have been in better places and worest places. it is jusy ok for the price.

The hotel was right in the prime location to get to everything in Mid-town Manhattan. It is an older building and you there are some parts of it that are in a bit of disrepair. The hallways smelled like urine and cigarette smoke, but the room itself was fine. Internet in room appears in almost all hotels, but this hotel. Paid or free internet services will be good for the guests.

The lobby is beautiful. The location is awesome. The rest of the hotel is no good and the service is miserable. You get what you pay for. Dirty rooms and pretty much everything there is broken.

Close to transportation and sites

By Far this was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were disgusting. Make sure you take a shower late at night. No Hot water in the morning. The front desk staff (that is the only staff I saw at this hotel) was very rude. 1 hr to check in. 30 - 40 people in line & only 2 checking in. the others just stood and watched.

We booked a night at the hotel almost totally due to its location opposite Penn Station, arriving after 7pm in the evening and departing before 8am the next day. The only positive statement we can make about the room is that the bed was comfortable. Apart from that it was delapidated: flaky paintwork, dodgy electrical fittings, leaky plumbing, threadbare […] carpet and curtains that had to be held closed with a hair clip. It was not cheap either. We accept that the location will command premium prices but believe that, if you charge them, suitable emphasis needs to be placed on the quality of the service offered. The hotel is very outdated, dak & dreary, needs a 100% modernization!! location can not be beat!

This hotel is in a great location and is value for money. The service is probably average at best with long delays in checking in and checking out. Access to wifi was not good, after purchasing 24 hours was not able to reconnect after the first initial use.The location and convenience of the hotel out weighs some of the negatives.

I was not satisfied at all with Hotel Pennslyvania. I had heard so much about it and when I arrived I was preety impressed with the lobby it was very modern. But when you take the elevator its like taking a time machine and going back to the 1920's or 30's. The old classic look is not impressive at all. The paint was chipping from the walls, the bathroom […] were old and dingy and not clean and to make matters worse when my wife and I arrived we got there on Saturday mornig around 9:00am and there was a gentleman there at the front desk who when I asked if there were any rooms available he told me rather rudely that check in was at 3:00pm and pointed to a sign on the wall. Then I asked if there was a place where I could leave my luggage and he said "$4.00" we gave him $4.00 and I was going to give him the luggage when he pointed to the elevator and said over there go over there. Before I coould give him a piece of my mind my wife took me by one arm and we went to the elevators where a young man who was standing there by the hotel told us to take the elevator downstairs and follow the sign to the luggage room. Last but not least toast and bagels is not a continental breakfast. I stayed in smaller hotels in Florida where I get scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, etc for acontinental breakfast. What a gyp!!! I ended up not staying when I waited in line for 40 minutes and went to my room which was not made up. I went back to the front desk and the line was even longer. I called American express and went to another hotel. I would never recommend this hotel.

Hotel is old and it shows, but my room was very clean, comfortable, and everything worked. Can't beat the location if you are traveling in/out of NYC by train. Had a bit of wait at check-in and to speak to someone about a problem with the wi-fi in my room, but staff were efficient and professional and resolved the problem immediately.

OMG. If you are attracted by the price... Do not go. To resume: dirty towels, moldy floors, shower curtains and walls, dead bugs hanging freely for the vanity fixture..... gluey phone with brown stains... old cups from previous guests.... you are so worried that you don't want to walk on the carpet. ETC.

This had to have been the worst hotel I ever stayed. The rooms were small and you going even more around it in. My first room was the dirtiest room ever. The toilet had a black ring around the inside of the toilet bowl and the toilet seats looked like it hadn't been replaced since the hotel was built. They did finally switch rooms for me and the second […] one was better but it was not without a big discussion as to why I wanted a different room and not just the toilet cleaned. Devamı

I'm okay with affordable travel, but this place could use a little love. The walls were scuffed, dirty and cracking. It's just a little tired and ready for a remodel.

I've stayed at this hotel before, years ago, right after a renovation and it was great. Unfortunately the Owners are not updating anything at this time. I hear it could be demolished, please support historic preservation! Do not let this historic site go by the wayside. This is an awesome building and deserves to live! The hotel is very nice and the location could not be better. The room is in need of an upgrade. The bathroom had lots of mold and mildew because there is no fan or ventilation in the room. The temperature control is only for heat and even though its not even summer yet, the room was really hot and humid. The room we got was a smoking room when we specified non. We couldn't even breathe properly. The front desk have us another non smoking room which was better with air quality but the room was like a hostel. Location was very good but again you could probably find better hotels along time square

While the Hotel Pennsylvania is in a great location, there isn't much else good to say about it. Located centrally across from MSG and Penn Station, it is a very old hotel in various states of disrepair. While small rooms in Manhattan are the norm, this was abnormally small and looked like it hadn't been updated or cleaned since the 1960's. The only plus this hotel has is location. Across the street from Penn Station. I have a non-smoking room with cigaret burn on the carpet. The bed is rock hard. Climate control does not work and window does not open. Do not pay for a room with Breakfast. For your money you are money ahead going somewhere else. This morning breakfast consisted of Bagel, […] choice of two small muffins, Apple and coffee. All this being severed out a room no bigger that 12x12. Also, once they run out it seems it is gone, so go early if you pay for this in the room rate. I was warned before booking, but chose to book anyways... Next time, location is not everything. Devamı

I was generally pleased. the hotel is old and needs work, but the room was fine and kept clean. The staff was also very helpful. Lack of convenient internet asset was a bit of a problem but that was less important on this occasion than it might be on others.

The lobby and halllways are well done. But the room had large sections of plaster missing on the walls, every wall in the room looked unclean . No wi-fi option in the rooms either. Cannot recommend this hotel.

overall not bad though hotel perhaps too large for good service. convenient location though

Stayed in room 882. Room was infested with Bed bugs! Was later moved to another room for the duration where there more bed bugs but smaller. I cannot recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Manager was nice enough to refund me my money once I lifted the box spring to show them that there was a small family of bugs living underneath of it. Left with […] 6 bites across my body. AVOID!! This hotel is right out of the Hollywood horror movies of the 1950s. Do not stay here.

Yes, the hotel is a bit old, and the rooms are a bit battered (stains at walls, dripping water-tap, etc), but -come on- it's not that expensive either. Our room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. And the location is GREAT! I definitely recommend this hotel if you're going to NYC and don't feel like spending a fortune on super-expensive […] living. Honestly, NYC isn't about a fancy hotel room. The room was very large but the 2 beds were against opposite walls, making the TV watchable for only one bed at a time! A double double shouldn't elimate the acces to watching TV together just not necessarily sleeping together! Hallways especially rather musty but the staff was great!!! Perfect location for all of the city!

It was a great location, but the rooms were from the 60's. One friend had to get another room because the bathroom ceiling had black mold all over it. I found a long, black hair in the bathroom; not mine. I was nervous about the bed, but ended up surviving. If you're up for location and so-so accomocations; this is your hotel.

Extremely unsatisfactory; building very old and no sense of cleanliness; I looked at my heating/ac unit and it was very dirty right inside, within sight; carpet and walls give no sense of tidiness; furniture old and worn out; paint peeled here and there, with old, rotting wood showing.

abit dissapointed!!! They only had 2 tellers to check in so the wait was one hour and then the room was filthy! There was a spilled ashtray on the floor next to the bed that we left for the 3 days just to see if it would ever be clened up and NO it wasn't. The room was dirty! Lots of maintence work needed, phone broken, hair dryer broken, carpet filthy. Had to wait in a long line to ask for a wake up call, but the line was taking to long. Will never stay there again!

Enjoyed the stay and was comfortable. Some attention should be given to the peeling paint in the rooms the dust on the shelf on the wall by the bed.

I just returned from NYC - for a conference at the FIT. Hotel Pennsylvania is a perfect location for easy access from the Newark NJ airport, walking distance to the FIT, and with transportation at the doorstep. The check-in wait was about 20-25 minutes (2pm), and the person who served me was very efficent and courteous. Other staff (near elevators, […] safety deposit box) were less friendly and less helpful, appearing to be "annoyed" by my request for info. Older hotel with an amazing lobby, wide hallways, efficient elevators, and quite quiet despite hosting a large number of high school students at the time April 19-22). Room on 11th floor was excellent, save for the somewhat soiled looking and unhinged curtain liner and leftover suitcase scuff marks on the walls. Cleaning staff were very efficient. The breakfast (croissants, bagels, fruit , juice, tea/coffee) served in Penn Room were an ideal start to the day for me, and access to two computers there was useful. I was delighted with my stay overall, and it was only a couple of disgruntled staff in the lobby area who made it less than perfect. Devamı

It was the perfect location. Very old and outdated room but still clean, and staff was very friendly.

The hotel is ideally situated right in the heart of Manhattan, right across from Penn Station, and the rates are quite cheap compared to anything else in the area. However, don't expect amazing rooms with tons of amenities or exceptional service for the price you pay. New Yorkers very helpful and friendly. Location very good. Didn't like being hassled by people shoving things into my hand ever time I stepped out of hotel door. Toilet flooded in my room which I reported but wasn't fixed. Bought 6 hrs of internet usage but discovered to my cost it had to run consecutively.

I will start with the bad, that would be the service. The staff from check in to housekeeping were rude. The ugly, that would be the hotel. The paint is chipping and peeling off the walls, the furniture is old and outdated and the windows in our room didn't close...literally. With all those negatives out if the way i have to stay i would stay there […] again. The price was very fair considering the location was awesome. The hotel is across from Madison Square Gardens and within 4 blocks from the Empire State Bldg. we easily walked to Times Square, Soho, and even to Central Park one day.
