The Fairmont Chateau Whistler - Whistler

The Chateau Whistler is a wonderful hotel, with excellent service, but a couple of things took a little luster off our stay. Firstly, the parking fees are outrageous, and they make no attempt at all to inform you that (much) less expensive parking is a block away, something we found out only after our stay had ended. Secondly, the Chateau is, unfortunately, […] one of these hotels that price internet access like fine old whiskey. To me, in a hotel that is already the priciest in town, coupled with their stratospheric dining room and bar prices, the parking fees and internet access fees are just a little to greedy for my tastes, and budget. For me, that little bit of extra greed forces me to look elsewhere for my next stay. Devamı

I have stayed here before, That's why I came back. The service and staff are great. I always stay on the Gold floor to me it is worth the extra money.

I'm a sucker for nice rooms, nice lobbies, nice spas, and nice cocktail bars. And this place fits the bill on all of those accounts. It's super convenient to the slopes too. So, 4 stars. The -1 is for the snippy bell hop who greeted us. Spoke at lightening speeds...we asked him to repeat that...he rolled his eyes and said it even faster. Then he started […] opening our ski bags without asking - which was rude. I know he wants to keep the skis out of the room, but we had some things in the bag that we didn't want to unpack yet. It was hasty and rude. The housekeeping didn't show up either, and we got a snippy call that said, "We're calling to explain that we didn't make up your room because the privacy sign was out and housekeeping stops at 4pm." The privacy sign went out at 3:45, sweety, so, that's our bad? Ok, hon. It's an expensive hotel room, so honestly, I'd like to see you personally clean get off your duff and clean the room this instant. Devamı

Don´t take a car, parking is very expensive. Internet is expensive as well and not good quality. Cleanliness is not as good as we expected...

Overall it's a great hotel but a little overpriced for just a regular room. I think the name carries a lot of weight with respect to the pricing. Secondly, there is no free wi-fi or parking for such an upscale and expensive hotel. Parking prices are outrageous. I think they can afford to offer free parking and wi-fi for their guests.

This Hotel exceeded all my expectations. The staff was outstanding in every way. The whole ski experience from having your skis stored for you along with the short distance to the lifts, truly made this a memorable ski trip for myself and along with my seven friends. We have done eleven other ski trips all over the Western United States together to […] the top resorts and this by far set the bar way above the rest. Great outdoor spa and pool area. Could have a bit better bar service, but great atmosphere. Had an amazing dinner at the Grill Steakhouse in the hotel.

Service was great Had much higher expectations of our room for the cost, when we got there seemed very small, and not up kept , have stayed in much nicer larger rooms in this are such as the crystal which was a way better bang for your dollar, pool and hot tub where nice but was a long walk to get there from room.

A number of years back the Chateau was purchased by Fairmont Hotels, which have maintained the finest standards of service and top amenities. We spent four nights in February -- family of 4, with two teenagers. The hotel was simpy fantastic in every respect. The staff could not be better. The Wildflower restuarant was also excellent. Our son has many food allergies. The chef came to our table on our first day to better understand his allergies, and henceforth made special meals for him, including […] gluten free/vegan pancakes every morning. Beautiful hotel. They've thought of all your needs as a skier. We used the Gold Service and it was really sad when we had to leave, so spoiled. It was very easy to get to either mountain for skiing.

For a romantic 3 day getaway, the Gold Room experience is worth every single dollar. The fantastic breakfast and hors d'hoeuvres between 4-7 essentially encompasses a full board package. The Gold Room lounge has a serenity and wonderful atmosphere.

We were extremely pleased with the hotel. It was a very busy time in the first week of the New Year so we had to wait for over an hour to check into our room - however, we were able to wait in the very comfortable lobby. You cannot beat the location for proximity to the slopes and a cozy, but grand bar for apres ski delights. The rooms are basic (althought the bed was very comfortable), but you're paying for location. Housekeeping was inconsistent during our stay which was during the holidays and prices at restaurants and bars seemed very high (as compared to other […] luxurey properties we've stayed at). It's the Fairmont...and consistent with all Fairmont Hotels, lobby is nice, restaurants are nice, bars are nice, rooms are small and generally antiquated. This is not the W hotel. If you want to be situated in the main village, near all the action, during the day and during the night, then this is not the hotel for you as it is located in the Upper […] Village....a 10 minute walk to the main village. I wanted to be situated in the main village and the listing did not mention that the hotel was not in the main village so that was kind of disappointing. For the price the fairmont charges, I recommend looking at the Pan Pacific, Hilton, Sundial, or Executive Inn hotels as these are all located at the base of the whistler/black comb mountain in the main village. ran into a couple of hiccups on check in, but service was impeccable and all issues were addressed and resolved immediately. Room was very comfortable with beautiful treetop views. Bathroom a little dated with mildew in the shower, but overall a very nice stay.

For ski in and ski out convenience this hotel can't be beat. From the moment we arrived at the door until the end of our four day stay the staff was there for our every need. The checked our skiis at the front door, loaded our large bundle of bags and transfered them to our room. Waitstaff in the lounges, rental shops and restaurants were extremely […] friendly and helpful. The distance to the downtown Whistler stroll is a little far - a 10 minute walk - but hotel shuttles run every 15 minutes. As with other resort properties I've visited the onsite meals, drinks and other services are on the pricy side. Be prepared for possible sticker shock if you eat a lot of meals and have drinks on site. But, the food was always first rate. Out family of four completely enjoyed this stay and were taken with the holiday decorations (we stayed just before Christmas) of both the hotel and the Whistler villiage stroll. Devamı

The Fairmont is a grand winter skiing experience. From the Hotel entrance greeting, the lobby and the check-in, the room - everything was really great. The bar with the big fireplace is the best in Whistler. The Service and staff handling the ski valet is really nice. Boots are nice and warm when you get them in the morning and you're off toward the […] ski lift next to the hotel immediately. Spa + outdoor pool area is nice too. If anything - the hotel close-up exterior impression is less grand than the interior. When looking down at the hotel from the mountain I really looked forward to after-ski in the hotel. when we checked in we were not informed that the pool / sauna area were closed two days later we received a notice it would be closed for four hours two days later its still closed also daily housekeeping took two days off service in general was not what you would expect from this hotel

Fabulous hotel!! Only comment is they use flat bottom bed sheets and they did not stay tucked in at all, I was constantly fighting with the bottom sheet. Wish they would either use fitted bottom bed sheets or use the sheet strap/band that goes under the mattress and clips to opposite sides of the flat sheet to keep it from coming untucked.

Very comfortable place as always. However, renovations are undergoing so access to the pool is via staircase so no change room and showers on that floor. Also, the take out restaurant Portobello was closed which left us with no options for smaller and cheaper breakfast. It is scheduled to re-open Nov 22. Generally fine, staff is excellent.Only niggling item is the pool was being renovated. There was a backup outdoor, heated, pool, for laps..which was actually fine. But, we would have appreciated knowing ahed of time that the main in-out pool was under renovation.

They went out of their way to serve us. The food was exceptional. We got upgraded to a very private room with a view of only trees and mountains. We had a fireplace, super comfy bed and a whirlpool tub. The gym and out door hot ts were great . Expedia gave us an incredible off-season price.
