ROYAL OXFORD HOTEL - Oxford

Right next to the Station and a very short walk from the centre of town. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful - Eastern European, natch!. Twin room was clean, small but adequate, overlooked main street and was noisy at night - try for one at the back. No lift - we were on the third floor! Full English Breakfast was expensive at £11p/p and […] poor value , wife had mushrooms on toast( actually warmed bread) for £6.50 - better deals in town a short walk away. Hotel rates are overly high for what you get, but that seems par for the course in Oxford (and the UK, compared to say France wher the comparable room incl. breakfast in e.g. Reims would have been 30% cheaper) Devamı

Location is very close to the train and bus station(s), and 10-15 minutes from the high street. Immediate surrounding neighbourhood I wouldn't spend much time in, but 2-3 blocks away you could find more interesting neighbourhoods. - The room was spacious, but definitely outdated. Reception was modern, but not reflected in the room itself. - No elevators […] so if you have a lot of luggage it will be a problem (or multiple trips). - Temporary storage is not secure (for example if you wanted to check out but are still exploring the city, and want to leave luggage there for a few hours). The location is situated in an easily accessible part of the lobby between the front door and the reception desk, in a small alcove. Anyone could have pretended the luggage belonged to them and walked away with it. - Fruit provided in the room was appreciated, as was the free wi-fi. - Reception staff were okay, average: polite, but not overally friendly, but not rude either. The hotel was well-located, just a block from the train station and two blocks from the bus terminal (for the airports and more). My room was clean and quiet - everything worked. Free WiFi worked well, much better than in the US. It's a five minute walk to George Street and The High, but that was no problem. good clean room well situated to both train and bus station though on main crossroads so road traffic woke me early approachable well informed staff thought room a little expensive for what I got from pictures was expecting a little more,but would visit again asking for quiet room if possible
