Hotel del Coronado - A KSL Luxury Resort - Coronado

Our flight arrived 4 hours late and our luggage was lost, so we didn't arrive until 11:00pm. We were shocked to find that EVERYTHING in the area but the hotel bar was closed. The streets were empty. Even so, the stress of the day was wiped away by the friendly staff and gorgeous room. The concierge listened to our ideas and then helped us plan two […] perfect days at the resort and in the surrounding areas. The staff in the restaurants and bars went a step above expectations with friendly service and more, ie. suggesting where to snap the best photos and then producing a flower for the lady and taking the pictures for us with a perfectly framed background. One of the breakfast servers insisted on taking pictures from 3 different angles, and they turned out to be some of my favorites of the weekend. Highly recommended with or without children in tow. This is an amazing hotel on the beach in Coronado, California. The buildings and rooms are beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, everything we were looking for in a resort! We would highly recommend this hotel and be sure to read about its history - made our stay even more memorable.

I had heard great things about The Del from friends before booking our trip. The Website also intrigued me and I was excited for our stay there. The hotel is very pretty and has a lot of history. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Cabana rooms. I loved that we had a little enclosed area overlooking the pool area. It was great […] for our toddler to play out there but be secured without having to worry he could run out to the pool area. The downside to the Cabana area is that we could not get Wifi access where we were. They did have a wired connection in the room but we brought an iPad and could not access the internet unless we were outside or in the main building. I think that is important, especially if you are trying to stay connected while on your trip. The room was nice, spacious, which was good since our young son would play in there. The bathroom was nice but the stopped on the tub did not work. For someone who was trying to bathe a toddler, it was inconvenient. We managed. It could have just been our room but if traveling with kids you might want to double check. As with most resorts, prices for drinks and food were high. However, both dining experiences we had on the property were good: The Sun Deck and Sheerwater. Overall I was very pleased with the hotel, but from what I saw on the Web site, I expected the resort to be "plusher". By that I mean, I was surprised that the carpets in the lobby and main area were worn down. I understand it is an old hotel but I expected that to be in better condition. Devamı

THAT IS IT: AN UGLY EXPERIENCE

I've been to this hotel many times just to tour the hotel or walk the beach and it is a gorgeous hotel. To see it decorated for Christmas was even more amazing. This was the first of my visits that I actually stayed at the hotel, and possibly my last. When I got into the room, the bed was barely past the opening door. The room was tiny. The bathroom […] was what you would find in a 2-3 star hotel, not bad, but not good. The floors are old and very thin and there is no insulation in the walls, so all night I could hear everyone walking in the halls and walking overhead. That being said, the bed was fine and the restaurant downstairs was very good. I will definitely visit again to walk through and possibly to eat and have drinks here, but I won't stay, unless I stay in one of the villas. Devamı

We stayed three days at the del Coronado and would happily move there! The grounds and service are exceptional and the restaurants are divine.

The Hotel Del was gorgeous to behold. The Lobby and the grounds were spectacular. The valet staff was very helpful, and room service was generally very good. The meals (except for maybe the $75 Crown Room Sunday Buffet) were quality and reasonably priced considering the setting. Even though the weather during the entire stay (mid-July) was overcast […] and not particularly warm, the place was bustling. There were tourists there from all over the world - which is great if you are into a multi-national getaway, but not if you want to get to know San Diego. The room was somewhat disappointing. It was clean, the ceilings were high, the bed was comfortable, and it had a great view of the water, but there was little sense of luxury. I live in a 1900 built home myself, and generally understand what that kind of maintenance entails. The sink drain was clogged upon arrival, the bathroom light fixture went completely out and took two calls and half-day to get fixed. The room refrigerator (they called it a "cooler") was useless. The bed pillows were tiny and hard to get used to. The decks outside just looked and felt like white painted plywood. And finally, silly as it may sound, I like to watch Mad Men, and their cable package didn't include AMC. Devamı

There's naval base nearby. The jet noise was very loud and frequent. It runs as late as 11pm.

Worst hotel experience of my life. A beautilful beach and area but this hotel is a nightmare. The first room I was given had paper thin walls and I slept about 1 hour in between kids crying and cars screaming by. The next day I demanded a different room. This room was even worse. Could hear every noise from every kid or drunk Dad in the hotel. Coffee […] Maker was broken- AC didn't work- Had almost no shower pressure- Clock kept resetting- Front Desk basically laughed at my face when I went to talk to them and said they had no other rooms and didn't offer anything for my nightmare of a stay. So basically- For over three days I averaged 1-3 hours of sleep because of the noise. Just couldn't believe such a beautiful expensive hotel could be this bad. The food was good but very expensive. Look this is a TWO star hotel at best. Go and enjoy this area but DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!!! I still can't believe my expericence just horrible. If you have to stay here bring some earplugs some lysol and a vacum you will need them all. I hate to be this negative and there were some positives the beach is beautiful and hotel is well situated on the island. Devamı

Poor value, we werent even in the hotel but some poorly renovated mid century hotel building next to the del. We got a high priced room in an alternate building with a parking lot view.

The hallway and room smelled horrific, like feces and vomit combined for the entire time we stayed at this hotel, 2 1/2 days. Smell continued even after the room was cleaned. It took 30 minutes for the water to get warm enough to take a shower. Food trays stayed in the hallways for several days.

The Hotel was everything that was advertised and reputed...a beautifully restored Victorian mansion. The only complaint we would have had was our room had absolutely no view unless you count the walled in patio. For the money, I would have expected more. Outstanding Hotel

This isn't the best hotel you'll ever stay in - rooms are old and nothing spectacular. But the hotel and it's beauty is a don't-miss experience. It's a romantic setting to be sure - right on the beach with beautiful architecture and courtyard. It's very elegant. Parking will cost you (minimum $25/day) even if you self-park.

Love the history and architecture. The staff is outstanding and will go out of their way to make things right. The grounds are beautiful and clean. Enjoyed sitting on the deck relaxing in the sun and sea breeze. No need to leave the property, everything you need is there. Other restaurants and shopping are easily within walking distance. Great hotel,kept up very nice.I like to stay in this type of "old" hotels.The only thing was the price was a little high,but I guess they need to charge to maintain it.Many shops,right on the beach.Great experience.

Great place to stay when you want to get away from it all! And vey kid friendly because it's right on the beach or very romantic in the evening. Our room was wonderful in the original part of the hotel - we had a great time!!

we had a great time there, but we were surprised that our room did not have an alarm clock or wall clock at all. It was a minor inconvenience, but still a little bit annoying.

Pros:The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The beach front location was beautiful. The history of the hotel is fun and interesting. Cons: The water in the toilet ran on its own periodically, but there was a quick response to fix it. The food and drink costs are high, which may be expected at a hotel of this type I  […] guess. My husband and I enjoy antiques and old-fashioned classic elegance and so we thoroughly appreciated our 3 night stay- splurge. Our large room was on the fifth floor with a partial ocean view and the staff seemed committed to making our stay comfortable and pleasant. This is truly an example of "you get what you pay for". This was our first stay at Hotel del (4th in Coronado). Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, room was large and comfortable. We stayed with my family (husband, me, a 5 year old and a 6 month old) and we had plenty of room and lots of fun. The pool was nice, the spa was amazing and the location […] - couldnt be closer to the beach. My only hesitation in going back is the price. This is not a resort that I could visit every year, but would want to visit on special occasions (maybe my 15th anniversary coming up in a few years). Devamı

It's a 5 star beautiful hotel! How can you go wrong by staying here.

Although a very expensive Hotel. It is very nice. The Hotel is rich with History and Elogance. I would recommend requesting to stay in the old original Hotel. we stayed in one of the new additions and it just wasn't the same.

Hotel del Coronado, a great experience on the pricy side but worth it. The room we got was in the older part of the hotel and it over looked the service entrance for the employees so starting very early it was noisy . On the positive side we had a great view of the San Diego sky line with fire works every night. I expected the room to be a bit cleaner, […] and the room had humid smell to it, the bed was very comfortable and there was a sofa bed. The hotel grounds are awesome and you feel transported back to the early 1900s it's an great experience. The staff was nice although I feel they could have been abit more courteous. Over all we had a great time it is a spectacular place and my 12 year old had a great time at the kids camp. Thanks Hotels.com for the savings on the hotel rate. Devamı
