Everyone was friendly and welcoming. the food was delicious and had a wide variety. the entertainment staff was full of energy even on rainy days!

It was my first trip to Jamaica and my stay at Sunset Jamaica Grand was just great, the Room, Staff, Nightly Entainment just right and ofcause the Food was local and good...Overall a must do experence. Clement from Trinidad.

I was excited about staying at Jamaica Grand because I stayed there about 8 years ago and had a wonderful time. However, on this trip I was disappointed on the first day of my arrival. The hotel is definetely showing its age. I called the front desk four times on the first day. The toilet did not work, the sliding door could not close, and the power […] went out twice because of overloaded circuits. My refrigerator had to be unplugged to and I was told that this was so for everyone on that floor. That was an inconvenience because I had my beverages chilling. My eight year old enjoyed the pool and the outdoor activites but did not like the food. He was disappointed that they did not have pizza and nuggets as part of the kids meals. He did not care to have burgers and hotdogs which seemed to be the main staple for kids. One positive thing, the view was magnificent as the hotel is located right on the beach. The pools were a haven as well. I would not recommend going during spring break, too many people and not enough service. Devamı

My Overall stay was good. The room was comfortable enough, however I had a problem with the doors. The front door extra safety lock was broken and there were no swipe cards.The patio door did not lock at all. I spoke with guest services but it was not repaired. I addressed it with management who advised that they are in the process of changing out the […] locking systems and upgrading. I am from Jamaica and was most disgruntled with this hotel. In fact, I was nothing short of ashamed of the product that hotel had to offer! I could not believe that this was a tourist destination in light of the fact that I have stayed in hotels in Canada which are way better! To start off check-in was ridiculously slow and took at least 45 mins of […] more to get to the counter and then I had to fill out another set of paper work! I have stayed at hotels through this website before and all i had to do is give my id and check in is over. Then, when i got to my room i was most annoyed. The aesthics were just aweful. I had paid for the most expensive rooms on the property - "the Cabana rooms" - and they were a sight to behold! The rooms were outdated and bathroom fixtures falling off. I had to ask for a change of room which i never do. The 2nd room was a "tad" bit better. If i had paid full price for the room I would have been so mad with myself! We later learnt that the "Cabana rooms" were not updated per se because most guests dont stay there; they stay on the towers which is more affordable. That did not sit well with me. I also found myself calling maintenance while at the hotel because the remote control did not work, then there was no hot water another day, then there was condensation forming on the floor because we turned off the air conditioning. Oh nightmare after nightmare. In addition, the building needs maintenance. Missing ceiling tiles...and the list goes on. To add fire to fury, my anniversary night was almost ruined as we could not get into a restaurant to eat. The girl who checked us in "forgot" to give us the paperwork re booking the restaurants a day or 2 ahead in order to dine on a particular day. We were lucky and we managed to get a spot at the last minute. I wanted to speak with customer service but ran out of time. Overall was fine, nobody advised me about renovated rooms and non renovated rooms, my room was fine but no tv remote, good view, service was amazing, people were very helpful, JNP (Jamaica no problem) YA MON !

The main reasons why this hotel received a failed overall grade from me are as follows. (1) FOOD - Bad tasting food (2) CHECK IN TIME - waited 40 minutes to check in @@@@The bar service was excellent. I rate them a 5

This hotel could do with a complete overhall. The staff were friendly enough, but as it's a convenient hotel located in the centre of Ocho Rios, it is worth investing the money to bring it up to being an first class hotel.

Great for families, lots of activities on site. Currrently undergoing renovations. Friendly staff! Trying to work back to it's 5 Stars heritage.

Food was excellent which was a surprise my only drawback was the condition of the beach (ocean floor seemed to be overgrown with seaweed). A Resort of this caliber needs to address that issue ASAP. Overall experience was good.

I spent 5 nights and 6 days at the hotel and I found it to be very comfortable with staff that was quite accommodating. They had a decent variety of food and for the rate I paid it would be hard to expect more than that. I have read where people were complaining about the condition of the room and the hotel. These are the same people who are clipping […] coupons and home and who mostly drive a 5 to 8 years old car! They are regular working stiffs. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel the food was good the beach was clean the hotel was clean the pools were great. The lobby was inviting. It could with some updating but I was happy to be there and when ever they can afford to update that will be fine with me. If someone is looking for a 5 star hotel for between $350-$500 US per night Jamaica has plenty of them. I did not budget for that and I got good value for my money with not complaints. You get what you pay for. If you are looking for a family hotel with good food lovely settings with a gym this is the hotel. You can drink and eat all day sleep in the your air-conditioned room and just relax. If you check into a room you do not like they will change you like they did me and all you have to do is move on and have a good time with your family or friends. I would recommend the hotel to someone who is looking to have a good time while relaxing. It is not a 5 star hotel. The staff is great and very polite. Go and enjoy yourself! Devamı

My family and I had the pleasure of staying the the Sunset Jamaica Grande All Inclusive during the period Aug 29 to Sep 03, 2011. The experience was truly wonderful. The staff were always welcoming, helpful and pleasant. They really know the meaning of great customer service. This was the worse hotel / vacation I have ever had in Jamaica and I go there often. The food was bad (today's bake chicken will be tomorrows BBQ then the next day's Chicken soup). It seems that left overs are taken to a whole other level. The service WAS THE WORSE. Most of the service personnel will tell you they laid people off so just deal with the […] service you get and walk away. The fact that I had to spend almost as much for the week stay to leave the hotel daily is SAD! I purchased the most expensive room available in hopes to enjoy my Birthday vacation well that didn't happen! Please note I wasn't the only one. I would say I met like 10 other couples dealing with the same issues. ANTs and ANTs and More ANTs. AS for the VIP return guest dinner well this was just the crescendo of incompetence. Guest arrived before most of staff and they were still setting up 45 minute after the event was to start. Empty plates were taken up before others even got food. Going to Jamaica and note getting any Jamaican food JUST SAD! Over all SAD!!!!!! Once you pay your money you better pray the Hotel believes in Good Customer service! Devamı

The hotel is a good deal, especially since it's all inclusive. It's not the newest hotel ever, but the rooms are nice, and the staff are friendly. The water slide was ok-probably exciting for children. Nice beach, pools don't open till 9 a.m. No free wifi.

Awful service Small, run down rooms Dirty pool, dirty beachfront Cheap meals Look elsewhere to spend your vacation. We checked out early we were so dissatisfied. They did not even ask or care.

We stayed at this all inclusive hotel for 14 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. For what I could see compared to the Riu hotel the Sunset is in desperate need of a face lift but it makes up for it with the location and the general atmosphere. Most of the staff are polite and friendly and the food and drink is of a good standard. The entertainment leaves […] a lot to be desired but this is a minor issue because we enjoyed the other facilities that were available. The only downside to the holiday was that we had to change rooms following the 1st night. The room was located in the north tower as and overlooked a noisy air conditioning generator and during the room change my wife left all her jewellry in the old room. This may have been found by the new occupants or the maids but nothing was reported in lost property. Other than that this is great place for the kids if you are happy to have them with you at all times because i thought that the kids clubs were of a poor standard. Providing that they allocate us one of the newly refurbished suite and they improve the entertainment and and kids facilities I would definitely stay there again. Devamı

I was told that they were going to give me an extra bed in the room for my children and I had problems to get the extra bed. Check-out was very long. I stayed on the line for almost on hour before they check me out. Not to mention check-in. I thought checking was after 11 o'clock. I did not know that check-in was 3 o'clock. This hotel is close to Dolphin's Cove, Dunn's River and Mystic Mountain. The rooms and food were ok and we stayed for a price that could not be beaten. Boths kids and adults alike enjoyedthe waterslide.

had one of the worst room in the hotel, bed linen were not appealing bed was uncomfortable. The entire room was not up to my expectation in comparison to other hotels that i have been to and not even on the North Coast. so I was anticipating something more fasinating .

Overall we had a nice time at the Sunset, the kids enjoyed it the most. The non-motorized sports seem to be a little less than desired, all water sports are over at 5pm. why? The food was not as good as it looked and the service was slow as molassas but I forget their motto " no worries no hurries mon" :). Oh yeah and the entertainment cold have been […] much much better. The sliding door did NOT lock; the cafes were NOT open for breakfast at 8am and there was NO internet in the room. Decor was mediocor, beach needs better upkeeping and the food was horrible. This used to be a great hotel; WHAT HAPPENED?

Excellent location. Fantastic for young teens as they have their own teen club that keeps them entertained. Friendly bar staff. Good overall service. will be returning next year.

Clean rooms, all inclusive so no $$ necessary unless you're using spa or salon services. Friendly staff, activities for adults and kids. I would recommend

Great hotel, area & beach the facilities and amenities and location are great. Efficient and friendly staff. Great entertainment programs. However the state and condition of the rooms are inconsistent and need to be majorly updated. The food could also be improved.

I would not recommend or stay at this hotel again unless major refurbishment of the hotel rooms are made (oceanview building). Most of the staff were so unprofessional.

I have been to several hotels. However, I will not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. My room had a bad smell ,and I could not sleep well because I kept hearing loud party music every night.

Excellent entertainment, great variety of food. Excellent service in their three main restaurants, but very poor housekeeping. Every night we had to be calling for wash cloths and towels and the excuse was that the hotel did not have enough so we had to wait for them to do laundry for us to get them. Sheets and pillow cases were not changed daily and […] bathroom was not tidied. Furniture was filled with dust. Even after a supervisor came and inspected room and confirmed it was dirty, then promised to send someone to solve the problem, hours after, nothing was done. Eventually after calling 311 (housekeeping dept) a very polite gentleman apologized and sent a housekeeper a few mins later, who took care of the problem. I stayed for the July 4th weekend, and upon checking in, the hotel staff were rude and very blunt. I had a receipt confirming my hotel stay. The front desk person reviewed it, checked the computer, and decided to keep my receipt. I had to ask for the receipt back since this was the only one I had and he acted as if this was a problem. But eventually […] he returned the receipt to me after making a copy for himself. The room was suppose to be an ocean view which you see the ocean as well as the big & wide worn down roof of the adjacent building in front of our room blocking our view. Rooms are small, nonspacious particularly the bathroom and balcony. The balcony area is so small, it wasn't worth the effort to build. At the junction of the room and the balcony, there was a room divider which extended up from the floor. Entering and exiting the balcony, we keep tripping on it which is a hazard. The rooms were clean, but is outdated. For example, furniture is old, trimming along the walls peeling, iron& iron board old should be replaced. Food was average. Pool area upkeep was good but the overall hotel building needs to be updated with new paint, etc. Entertainment was nice/fun for the family. Location in Ocho Rios is good because of the close proximity to downtown. Hotel price is reasonable for what you get. Sunset Jamaica Grande won't be a first choice next time Devamı

I rate the service 3 out of 5. The employees were very friendly and welcoming, but the rooms were not properly clean and had a long wait for service. My room was leaking water from the ceiling and there were roaches, when i called for room service no one came to my door, even though it was all inclusive there was not much Activities.

Hotel is Ok but the food is limited, not a real buffet not enought to choose from very limited .

I would not recommend this hotel for the following reasons: * Poor staff communication * Poor snack bar service * Staff made things up as they went along * Food was repetative

This is an affordable hotel. However, the main tower needs renovations and maintenance.

When I arrived at the hotel I could not get through the main entrance as my name was not on the list of guests. After 20 minutes of negotiating I eventually got in and it took another hour and half to check in as their system did not have my reservation. I was only allowed in a room after I produced my Credit Card confirmation evidence (luckily Visa […] had sent me an e-mail advising of the payment). Once I got checked in everything was okay. I went with a group of eight- all of us in our sixties. There was a little wait as one of our rooms was not completely ready when we arrived. However the person sent from housekeeping to tidy the room did a fantastic job. There was great variety in the tasty meals served and the staff in the dining room was courteous and very helpful. Front desk offered […] a warm and inviting reception and those at the customer service desk were pleasant and very helpful. The beach was good. We enjoyed dining out at the Italian restaurant andf Asian restaurants. All told - all eight of us had a great time. Hope to return some time soon. Devamı

hotel was close to alot of amenties especially for shopping and major attractions...some upgrade is definitely required especially to the rooms, painting, moldiness. Too many cats on resort area, also in the dining rooms

we checked in with a total of 4 guests , and we had to pay $100 US for the 4th guest i.e the second guest in the second room. We had guests with us and we were really embarassed. I have already sent a letter but havent got any reply.........please deal with our complain
