Crowne Plaza Canberra - Canberra

Hotel is being renovated - hence there was some disruption. Our however TV reception and bathrooms were ancient (limited access to free to air HD channels).Staff were friendly and it was easy to walk inro the city. A nice park was right next door also.

Renovations to the hotel at the time which was unfortunate. Staff were splendid and helpful. Hotel was very conveniently located for us but sadly the public space in particular the City Walk which we used a great deal was very poorly maintained or rather not maintained at all and a very poor presentation of the city as were other public spaces, no fault […] of the hotel of course. The room was a bit tired with paint peeling off the bathroom door frame and one of the blinds damaged. Overall our stay was really good. Devamı

The hotel is in a very convenient location. We quite enjoyed the night staying in the hotel. The room is comfortable and clean, and the hotel looks pretty new and definitely looks like a 4 star rated hotel. We will still choose this hotel to stay if we are going to Canberra again for holiday.

So many hotels in Canberra are located in out of the way cul de sacs or in areas near government business or really just out of the main thrust of Canberra social activity. The Crowne Plaza in contrast is within walking distance of the unique and wonderful Garema Place of old Canberra, with it's random sculptures, and the entire shopping precinct. […] It's within walking distance of Canberra Theatre and other cultural activities including the cinemas. There are plenty of dining choices in the city, many of them al fresco, busy and vibrant. There are many cafes who do breakfast to dinner - all I tried were just excellent. You can step outside the hotel and relax in Glebe Park which is a relatively new but welcome green space in Canberra central. Then walk amongst some of Canberra's older leafy suburbs sitting under the green Mount Ainslie. Inside the hotel is friendly staff from the concierge to the chamber maids - everyone smiling and helpful. Parking is easy under the hotel. The restaurant I would rate 3 to 4 star for the meals I had there but in saying that the meals were tasty, well made and generous. I'm glad not to have stuffy 5 star dining when I'm relaxing in my hotel!! The wines served with the meals were excellent (or at least I selected well!). What more can I say? I think the Canberra Crowne Plaza was a fabulous advertisement for the entire chain. I would definitely stay there again, and I would definitely recommend. Devamı

We had a twin d-bed supirior room on lev4 very clean and quiet. The restaurant was fantastic for breakfast but for dinner a bit expensive the seafood buffet was the main concept we were not too hungry so weI ordered a baramundi fish and a salad for my wife the fish was 1 inch by 3 inches served on a large plate with nothing else for $35 I was still […] hungry. My wife salad was 98% outer lettuce leaves in oil and added sand. Car park lift was a pain to catch quicker on the stairs. We we checked out my wife left behind her voice recorder which after a phone call the posted back to us top marks for honesty. Over all the Crown plaza is a good place to stay perhap eat out for dinner 5-10 minute walk up the road in/near the Canberra plaza. Devamı

Staff were very friendly. Nice to have little extras eg: portacot for baby set up in room for free (other hotels in past have charged). Great location, short walk to shopping center & eateries. Would definitely stay there again!!

Nothing to complain about whatsoever. Really nice room; clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious. Will definitely return.

The Crown Plaza, Canberra is a centrally located - a 5 minute walk away to Canberra Central shopping & restaurants; 10 min drive to most galleries and family attractions, The Crown Plaza is/ has been a family friendly 4 star hotel, (we have stayed here late December 2010 & 2011). The Staff were very friendly and helpful especially with bookings to […] the exhibitions. Our room was clean, comfortable (great beds) and adequate for 2 adults and 2 pre-teen girls. Views from our rooms were over Glebe Park or a distant Canberra vista. Good natural light and very very quiet (shh)! Housekeeping was efficient and made you feel like you've come back to a freshly cleaned room - if only you could take them home to do your own place lol! A small bar fridge is very handy for your own drinks -beer, wine or small perishables (fruit ,yogurt water bottles) in order to avoid paying the typically exorbitant mini bar prices! Private underground parking costs a little extra but well worth the convenience & security. It can be a little crowded and squeezy but a car space was always available! No Campervans! The buffet breakfast included in the room deal is/was absolutely fantastic- freshly made juices, eggs cooked to order, fresh pastries & pancakes!!! The service was mostly good but a little slow at times, understandably, during peak /crowded periods- So go early (before 9am) to avoid the rush! The outdoor pool is not heated but clean, private and well maintained with complementary towels, seats,& sun lounges. Internet and desktop computers are available for an hour at a time. however the business centre room where the computers are is small and prone to overheat They need to fix the air conditioning in the room - or keep the door open to allow ventilation! The kids (or adults) can access free wi-fi from the reception lounge if you don't want to pay for it in your room. I found the hotel staff extremely accomodating - there was an issue with a large industrial fan outside my room and once I brought it to the attention of the hotel staff, I was immediately changed rooms. However the rooms themselves, whilst very clean, were not very modern and were smaller than I was expecting. I was disappointed and felt let down by the condition of the swimming pool, which was not worthy of a hotel of this calibre. The pool looked unkempt, uncared for and dirty, and the surrounds were distinctly uninviting. The rest of the facilities and service were fine.

We got an upgrade after requesting a quiet room. These are on the Park side, which are more expensive. Bathrooms a bit outdated but mainly noticable on the taps and fittings. Bed was really comfy and rooms very quiet. Very happy.

Not a bad hotel to stop over on the way to the snow. We had a superior room with two double beds which was fine for 2 adults and 2 kids. The room was reasonably comfortable and well decorated - about what you would expect for a four star hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel - there are many restaurants and cafes in Canberra that provide better options. […] Try Silos in Kingston for breakfast. The hotel is located next to the Casino and a shoipping area, overlooking a park. It's a reasonable quiet area near the main road through Canberra. All in all a good 4 star hotel. Devamı

I review accommodation for Federal Government. Crowne was of a great location and hotel staff were extremely attentive & pleasant. Only issue was cleanliness - room cleaners need to thoroughly check under beds as there were a pair of dirty socks and underwear.

The hotel has nice rooms. The view was a bit poor and the pool was dirty. The main problem with the hotel is the smell coming from the resturant downstairs. Since there are no corridors, (on one side there are rooms then the other side looks over an indoor balcony into the resturant) the smells is everywhere, except your room. The other problem here […] is that they charge you for everything. I was charged for parking, then for someone to park my car and also for internet. Nowadays the most upmarket hotels include wi-fi and I have never understood why I should pay to park my car. It costs them nothing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Centrally located, very functional and clean rooms.

I'll be brief. Australia is famous for friendly people, but service levels seem to suffer in that country greatly. I was saddened by the apethy and often abrasiveness of almost all whom I came in contact who had a customer facing role. The Crowne Plaza Canberra seems to be immune. Wonderfully situated at the heart of Canberra; a 2 minute walk from […] major shopping and dining; and only a few minutes drive from major sightseeing destinations. The service was professional and friendly -- even warm. Up to the standards I would expect from an international brand. There's no doubt this will be my home base on every future visit to Canberra.
