Despite assurances, our room didn't have any veiw. Our windows opened toward another hotel's windows. The TV didn't have a good reception and internet connection was pretty expensive!

Great and very elegant hotel. Would definitely go again to stay at this property. Only complaint was the $28.00 a day valet parking but I guess that is the going rate.

Awesome place. Beautiful surroundings. Staff was so courteous. Great price for downtown. So much space.

the hotel staff for the most part were very accomodating. the hotel room whilst dated - acceptable for age of hotel, was comfortable. the bathtub was stained and it made it look and feel dirty, I did not want to use it. we returned from our evening out to a broken air conditioner at 11pm, a maintenance man was sent up and was very pleasant, assuring […] us that the motor was gone but they would up grade us to a better room. half an hour later the front desk called and said someone would be up to give us another key for a room on the same floor. there was no mention of help or an up grade. It was 11.50 pm by this time! I argued the point and they somewhat reluctantly moved to an upgraded room.so although the hotel was very conveniently located and a nice hotel for the most part, i would be hesitant to reccomend it, Devamı

The staff were excellent in seeing that we had everything we needed and very friendly. We really liked that we were able to work out next door that was a big bonus. When the staff learned that we were celebrating our Anniversary they added some extras to make our stay and Anniversay special and we really appreciated it. We had an excellent stay at the hotel,. The hotel was close to the river walk and places of interest. The rooms were quiet, and clean, staff was very courteous, food was good and staff was super friendly.

The hotel is beautiful. The service is excellent, and the location is perfect, but our particular room was small and outdated. The only think we liked about the room was the bed and pillows. They were very comfortable. The bathroom was not user friendly at all. It was extremely small. Two people could not stand in the bathroom unless you were squished.There […] was not any room to lay out any vanity items. I had to shut the toilet seat, put a towel down to even have a place to put down my curling iron. The room was extremely outdated. I would have never stayed in that hotel again if I had not seen the other rooms that the other people in our party were staying. Out of the group, we had the worst room. We were right by the elevator and heard the dinging of the elevator constantly. We would stay here again, but we would request an updated room. Devamı

The windows are so thin at this hotel that even on the 11th floor we were able to hear EVERYTHING that was happening on the street below. Dump trucks, buses, cars, children, you name it, you could hear it. At 6:30 a.m., that isn't a pleasant occurence, if ever. My fiance and I got no sleep the entire three nights we were there. The hotel say overall was good. The bathroom was very very small and wasn't cleaned very well. The noice level was somewhat disturbing.

The service was phenomenal! It was close to everything downtown and one of the best experiences we have ever had!

I loved the decor of this hotel - very classic southern style. Service was great. Free internet. The only downside is that the pool doesn't get sun in the afternoon.

I already hVe recommended this hotel to others and have made plans to come back!! The guy behind the bar in the hotel pub is very good at his job and makes me want to come back and have a beer night after night.

We went for our anniversary, and everyone was so welcoming! The hotel even bought our breakfast one day to help us celebrate. It was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had!

The front desk staff was fantastic. I placed my elderly parents in this hotel due to the close proximity to the Majestic Theater and I couldn't have been more pleased. They heard it was my mother's birthday and gave them a room upgrade to a controlled access floor and my parents were so pleased. Thanks so much for making their stay so memorable.

I stay at many hotels and I must say that the staff is very nice, but the room was very dirty. I understand that its an old hotel, but I could say its comparable to a motel 6 but triple the price.

We chose Gunter Hotel because it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we wanted something special. This was not the 1st time staying there. We asked for a room facing the street and we got a room over looking the a/c units. The coffee maker had to be replaced because ours was broken. We only had two towels in the room, we called for some more, but the […] next day when our room got cleaned they took the extras away. The shower head was on a hose so everytime we turned the shower on the floor would get wet, (the preasure of the water turned the hose towards the floor). The nice things were that they gave us a free breakfast for our anniv, and a free breakfast for the above items that we suffered through. We will look for another hotel next time we are in San Antonio. Devamı

Always a wonderful place to stay. We have been staying there for many years and their consistency is appreciated.

Nice Hotel the Staff Was super friendly

We were here for a trade show at the convention center and the cab rides were under 5 dollar great deal. Cab there are not fast so call ahead.

Staff were very accommodating, helpful, and available. On line log-in procedures need to be simplified, so they don't require instruction from the staff. "Green" offerings were clear and done effectively--especially the rebate for choosing not to have the room serviced.

My family stayed at the Sheraton Gunter on a little weekend getaway. The hotel was absolutely wonderful. The location was in the heart of downtown right across the street from the riverwalk and just a short walk from the Alamo. My only complaint was that the valet parking was kind of steep, $30 a night. But it was very convenient I guess.

The hotel was in a nice location. The lobby and bar are great in the hotel. However, the front desk staff were not very helpful. Additionally, the remote control to the television broke twice and on the second request to get it replaced they never showed up. The Bell Captain was very helpful, but other than than, I was not impressed with the hotel. […] Over priced for what you get. Devamı

Elegant hotel. It is older and historic but nice. Rooms were clean and service was good. Had the buffet in the morning at the restaurant. The buffet was overpriced and not very good. Othen than that it was a very pleasant stay.

Everything was excellent just like the first time I stayed 13 years ago

Perfect location and I expected to pay for parking in downtown San Antonio. A block from the Riverwalk made the area so special. Loved being directly across from a Starbucks where the service at that Starbucks location was better than excellent. Can't say the same for the Gunter Hotel itself. Well kept appearance didn't make up for the rudeness and […] sarcasm of the desk clerk, Broken coffee Maker in our room, and Non working WI-Fi in our room. I'm pretty easy going and if only one of these things were an issue, I would have let it go, but when they make a point to say this is a 4 star hotel, I expected better. Sorry Gunter, we won't be back, and I love San Antonio. Devamı

it was a wonderful stay.

Everything is walking distance-loved the location!!! Room was a little hot; AC wouldn't get as cold as we would like... Rooms are Very small but if you only plan on needing a room to sleep in- its perfect. Staff also very friendly and helpful

Room was great but bathroom sucked. Old, old tub. Short shower head in tub. Very small.

Booked room for a wedding, service and room was excellent. Watch incidentals, have been charged 3 times on my credit card.

Hotel itself is quite nice, but street noise is an issue, even on higher floors. Staff very friendly and helpful, valet parking easy and accessible.

A block from Riverwalk Entrance. Suggest inner room due to noise from streets. A complimentary pair of earplugs were in bathroom...hmmmm? Guests services did mention the noise from street; however, we wanted the view. We didnt realize it would be so noisy. Also, the heat in our room wouldn't work. We didn't report it because we didn't want to hassle […] with moving or a repair person. We just dealt with it. I'm certain Guest Services would have corrected the problem if they had known. Overall, worth the money for location and hotel appearance. Devamı
