10 min walk to dam, the hotel is mediocre. Nothing spectacular. Staff is okay. free wifi in lobby only at 30 minute increments. walls are paper thin. The street can get roudy at night so hard to sleep. rooms are extremely small

The staff was helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and neat, rooms modern & comfortable

This hotel is situated just off Dam Square which removes it from the more "tacky" side of Amsterdam. There are some lovely old fashion pubs and restaurants directly opposite this hotel. The only negative comment I would add is about our room. We were on the 4th floor at the front of the building, which ment that our room windows were high up and unless […] you stood on a chair or bed you were unable to see out of the windows, which was a shame. The hotel was very clean, appeared to be well managed, the rooms were on the small side...but so are most Amsterdam hotel rooms, especially in the price range of this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and tried very hard to make sure things were okay or to answer your questions etc. would stay there again.

Location is amazing, and the beds very comfortable. Staff were accomodating but couldve been nicer. Overall a very good hotel, conveniently located in the heart of Amsterdam, all attractions within walking distance. if you are driving the hotel has a car park available for 40 euros but worth the price, cause parking in Amsterdam is expensive generally. […] :D Devamı

The hotel was all we expected and hoped ; Clean and modern, good rooms and excellent bathrooms. We were on the fifth floor and had very little noise from road, but it's a reasonably quiet location close to Flower Market with a good selection of local restaurants and cafes and close to all the action.

I was sometimes in Amsterdam with all time an other hotel but this one was very impressive by its quality and location, I would recommend it to everyone and the best is the underground parking where your car can be safe and the rooms are not the biggest but the space is managed for the best confort. This hotel has an excellent location, close to museums, restaurants, canals, and a 2-minute walk to the tram. The rooms are a bit small, but they have used the space very efficiently and they are actually quite comfortable. The breakfast is very nice and the service is excellent. Hotel Was situated in a good location not far from the main shopping strip and was walking distance to local Cafes and Bars. Hotels and rooms were very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Sent us to a tiny no view room first and we went back down and pointed out we had upgraded to superior room. Thankfully brought Hotels.com ppw, they agreed, but still acted like they were doing us a favor giving us exactly what we paid for. Secure bldg - need room card to open hotel entry and operate elevators at night. Clean room overlooking canal. […] 3rd floor views straight into trees - recommend higher for best city view or lower for best canal view. Bed alittle sway-backed, but clean and worked. Close to all the main action of Amsterdam, could walk to anything from train station, to Van Gogh Museum in the opposite direction. Quiet even though we were on a main street. Room was a bit small, but bad for 2. Free 15 minutes of internet in Lobby daily. Nice pubs right down the street.

My wife, daughter, and me loved our visit and the hotel location was perfect for visiting all the sites. We changed rooms from the street view to the much quieter canal view after one night. It was worth the additional charge!

Had a lovely 2 night stay, close to all sights, overlooking a canal. It was our wedding anniversary and arrived back to our room to find chocolates and champagne. Thank you to NH city centre. Would recommend hotel to friends

This hotel is very convenient to the City Center. The train station is not too far, but may be inconvenient depending on how much luggage you have. The tram is available one street over from the hotel. The room was nice, small but typical for a European Hotel. The bed was a little hard. Hotel was comfortable and had a good location, but the staff are in no rush to help. Also annoyed to discover that despite being told on check out that there was nothing to pay, I have been charged a city tax on my credit card. My booking clearly stated that all local taxes have been paid. Check this before before leaving the hotel!

NH CITY CENTRE AMSTERDAM very centrally located from the station 15 minutes away, good service , very clean ,wi fi just in the lobby.Ill will book it again

The NH City Center is an excellent hotel three tram stops from Centraal Station and one stop from the Dam. An excellent area between the Dam and the Flower Market with restaurants, bars and shops. Lots to see and do in a short walk or tram ride. My room overlooked a canal and was very quiet -- but needed the blackout curtains closed because the outside […] lights were pretty bright at night. This hotel was wonderful and I would highly recommend it. We went in March, not a super busy time, and we received a free upgrade to a canal view room. It was easy to get to from the train station, after a short ride on a bus, and an easy walk. We were close to everything but felt very safe. The room was awesome and quite ample in size for the three […] of us. We did not include the breakfast option but we were within walking distance of the flower market where there were many wonderful cafes open for breakfast. The staff was helpful. The hours of the bar were a little strange to us but hours of operation in Amsterdam are different on the whole. It was a wonderful visit, far too short, and I am looking forward to my return someday and will definitely book this hotel at this location. The hotel staff was able to let us into our room a few hours early, without charge. The room had a beautiful view of the Amsterdam canals.

Great Hotel! Awesome location! The hotel rental bike is extremely convenient, all the bikes are in good condition! If you go to Amsterdam be sure to rent a bike to see the city! Best trip ever!

I just spent about two weeks at the City Centre and was very pleased. I have no problems recommending the hotel to others and I plan to stay there again next time I'm in Amsterdam. I was given a small but comfortable room facing a canal. Other than occasional late-night singers (this is Amsterdam, after all), the room and surroundings were blissfully […] quiet. The room was spotless and everything worked properly. Just a couple quick notes: --Pretty quick Internet service is available in the rooms at typical high prices. WiFi is free if you work in the lobby (there's a nice lounge off the main lobby where you can work). --Watch out if you bend over in the shower. If you have a big behind like me you're likely to turn the water off or set it to scalding hot (the voice of experience here). --Note that there's another hotel just a few blocks closer to the Centraal Station also called City Center. Make sure you go to the NH one. --Unless it's included in your package, you need to pay extra for breakfast. It's no great shakes -- you'll do better dining at one of the local hangouts close by. --For those who care, an Amsterdam "coffee shop" is 63 paces from the front entrance (yes, I counted). --The Amsterdam City Museum is a short block to the east. --Unlike other European hotels, the staff really does read Do Not Disturb signs on doors. You won't be pestered with maids shuttling in and out of your room if you want to work during the day. If you don't want service, the front desk will call to make sure you're not dead but they won't pound on your door. As for location, it's great. A few steps to the south of the hotel there are a bunch of restaurants and the American Book Store. Go east a couple blocks and you're smack in the middle of the shopping district. Walk north a couple blocks and you're at the Palace and the Red Light district. It took me about 30 minutes to walk south to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum -- the flower market is on your way. We've been there on Feb. Few people wiht cool view. Especially if you get a cancal view room. We have 2 adults with one 13 years old but they didn't charge us extra for the extra bed.

I had no problem checking in early - the staff was very welcoming. Simple, clean, comfortable hotel. The location is FANTASTIC - very central with lots of options for shopping and bars nearby. Half a block to the Spui tram stop, which makes it super easy to get around the city. Wi-fi in the room was a bit pricey, but they offer one hour of free Wi-fi […] in the hotel lobby. impressed with this hotel very clean modern, normally stay in other hotels when in amsterdam but needed one with parking close to center, i will be using this hotel from now with or without car, perfect location walk to everything but not to busy in front of hotel, car ferry wasnt leaving till 9pm the hotel even let me leave car parked till 6pm...6 […] hours after checking out Devamı

Great location, great hotel, 5 minutes to Dam square, 10 minutes to Heineken and museum blocks. Staff polite, breakfast delicious but really expensive. Lots of restaurants nearby with breakfast for less! Hotel was safe with key access to stairs and lift. First time I have booked it with Hotels.com rather than direct through NH website. It was cheaper but worst room I have ever had at the hotel even though I booked a superior room as I usualy do. Hotel is extremely close to everything you want to see. You can walk everywhere from here. Staff at the hotel were polite, and helpful and effecient. We had the best experience at NH Hotel !!!! Hotel was very clean, nicer than I expected. Room was small, but standard for a European hotel. Felt safe as elevator can only access room levels with a door key, Room was clean, nicely decorated & with decent view of part of the city. The hotel was excellent! We were upgraded as there was an issue with the number of guests we had booked for, but it was dealt with without fuss and immediately by the member of staff on duty. Room was excellent: comfortable, spotlessly clean, spacious and well equipped. The location is 5 mins walk from the Dam Square, and and ideal base for exploring […] the whole of the city. Everything was fine, except when we just got to the room after unpacking, the reception called us to ask if we wanted to change to a bigger room but it was a twin room. We specifically booked a double room, so they should check before bothering customers with those things. We stayed in the double room at the end. We arrived at the hotel we intended to stay at, NH City Centre, to be told they had unexpected guests and had overbooked the hotel. As a result they moved us to a "5 star hotel" NH Barbizon into the Junior Suite, in an area we had no desire to be located.. between the train station and the red light district. The moment we left the hotel we were often […] propostioned to buy ILLEGAL drugs and on several occasions the homless were sleeping directly outside of the hotel, because at night no one works the front desk. The quality of the five star hotel junior suite was beyond awful. The room was carpeted in red and the furniture is greenm, the ceilings are high, however the "rustic beams" are so low that my 6'3 boyfriend had to duck the entire time and on several occasions bumped his head. The beams are so low in spots that I, at 5'5, bumped my head. When we phoned to see about switching rooms they informed us this was typical of a dutch hotel and informed us we could not be accomodated in another room. There were three of us staying in the room, and booked the room on triple occupancy, a small cot was pulled in for our third person. The concierge was rude and replied with smart alec remarks when asked to inform of us of more then one location for thai food in amsterdam, "How many thai places can you possibly eat at? i have givin you two locations, are you going to eat at them all?" The front desk is not manned at night, which allows vagrants and homeless people to camp out directly infront of the hotel, which is located right betweent he redlight district and the train station, in an area a female would feel unsafe walking around past 8 pm. I would stay here again simply for the breakfast! It was awesome! Good location in that it's close to the Red Light District, but not too close!

excellent hotel, the room was a little to hot and the lack of air conditioning didnt help but was very comfortable. great location though, with only a 7 minute walk to dam square. would certainly stay here again! thumbs up!

Rooms were very small and did not contain irons and bar closed at 10pm. Apart from that, no complaints.

Hotel bem confortável com diversos serviços e opções de utilidades. Próximo ao metro, ao Big Bem, London Eye e Aquario.

Helt greit hotell med store rom,rent og ryddig, midt i byen med utgang både mot gata og mot en kanal. Vi fikk et rom på nederste plan med kun vindu "2 meter" oppe på veggen,ikke mulig å kikke ut for å se om det var regn el. sol. et rom i 1.etg. helt ok. Litt dumt at det ikke settes av rom i samme etasje når en person bestiller flere rom. Hadde vi hatt […] barn med kunne vi ikke bodd i hver sin etasje. De som jobbet i resepsjonen var hjelpsom når vi spurte om råd etc.. Devamı
