if you watch tv the channel selection is very poor, the bed in my room was very good the rest of motel so so.

The staff was very helpful. Location on a bus line plugs you into the fine Portland transit system, but the motel is situated between a used car lot and a lap dance emporium. The king size bed was slanted toward the edges, making my bad back even worse. The grounds look great, but the din from the heat exchanger was annoying. The lobby looked great. […] No one told us about the complementary breakfast until the last day. Shiloh promises a daily USA Today, but there was not a one in sight. Devamı

Friendly employees and very clean room, ordered a cheese tray for room service it was outstanding.

I really liked the courtyard at this hotel. The waterfountain totally hid any road noise and made it quite green and peaceful. The room was clean and the staff in the restaurant were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to visitors to Portland. It is a 5 min drive from downtown and half the price of any downtown hotel.

Our room was great...over the parking lot we had a view of the color changing trees & a huge cross in the distance that brought peace & tranquility. The bed was a little on the hard side, my husband did not sleep well so we wouldn't stay more than 2 or 3 nights, but overall were very pleased. The gazebo & water feature were big highlights & great photo […] opps. We didn't hit the pool, but maybe next time. We did hit the gym....& I do have to be honest, it does need some serious upgrades.....free weights & a new bike. The food & drinks were great, free breakfast a huge bonus & plenty to eat. We had ne waitress (never did catch her name) that was awesome; great personality & always a smile. The bar/lounge had a great ambiance. Location was great for us, easy to access main roads & go either direction we needed to go. Great job Shilo! Devamı

We were given the last available ground floor room. My grandmother is 85 and can't climb up and down stairs. The room was obviously hardly ever used, or maintained for that matter. The rug in front of the door was covered in thick mud( built up over a long period of time) up first entering the room it was dark outside and I didn't see the mud. I slipped […] and fell in the bushes. I'm so glad that didn't happen to my grandmother. I think the muddy mat was plain negligence. I mentioned the matter on more than one occasion to more than one employee and no one cared. That was very disappointing. Devamı

Great for the price.

At check in the clerk gave our room to another guest. He still gave us a key to the room so it was a surprise to find someone else staying there. The hallway was filled with dirty laundry that we had to weave our way through. The room smelled bad but after opening the windows a half a bottle of Frabreeze it was at least tolerable. The TV did not work […] and no remedy from the front desk. The other guests were a little sketchy. Devamı

You would never guess from the rustic exterior and closness to the highway; this hotel was very nice and clean. We received an upgraded room over looking the pool and gardens with a balcony. Large room,w/ small ref., microwave, coffee maker and a washer and dryer. The breakfasts we had were delicious and large. Eggs were perfect, not runny as someone […] else wrote. The room was clean, but overall this was a very average experience. After driving all night to get to Portland, we arrived early at the hotel, hoping to check in a couple of hours early. The front desk rep turned us away cold, since check-in time was at 4pm. We drove around for a few hours and came back about 30 minutes before check-in time and were […] given a room but also reminded again about check-in being at 4pm. Just odd - I've checked in early at a lot of hotels and haven't been given a talk about it before. When we finally got to the room, we found that there were no electrical outlets to use, except for two in the bathroom area, so while there was free WiFi, we had to keep plugging our laptops in, back in the bathroom area. The hotel looked like it was once very nice but just looks outdated. They still had metal room keys, for example. It was also odd that we only had two bath towels in the room - there were only two adults, but we had two kids with us (they stay free, but it would have been nice for them to be able to shower with their own towel). Breakfast was included and was very good, but there's a limited menu for hotel guests who are using the free breakfast. Still, the service was good in the restaurant and the food was very good. Fair place to stay for the price. Good breakfast (real breakfast) included in the price.

This is an average hotel for the average people. I spent two nights here while visiting Portland. The complimentary breakfast is a plus although I wish sausage and bacon are included in the menu. The water pressure is a blast. When I say blast, I mean it. It doesn't just flow out of the faucet. The water shoots out as soon as you turn on the faucet. […] The only problem is the sink faucet is not made for people with arthritis because it takes strength to turn it on. The carpet can use some updating. Perhaps some bright color can lighten and bring life to the hotel rather than some dark medieval-like color. The smell of the old carpet is definitely detectable. The television can use an updating to a flat screen instead of cathode ray. Devamı

Hotel is definatley outdated, but it was quiet, clean, and the staff was helpful and pleasant. Good value for the price. The look of the place won't impress you, but it turned out to be very pleasant stay.

Full service breakfast included with limited menu items. This exceeded expectations. The facility was a little tired but presented a fine value.

we called and asked if there was a indoor hottub and was told yes. there was a outdoor one instead, we did not realize that till we were checked in. the manager did nothing to comidate us for this. the beds were very uncomfortable and only espn and cnn channels on the tv. there was hair in the shower and on the hair dryer. we chose this place cause […] we were told it had a hot tub in doors and it was already paid for. we will not be staying there again and will not refer any friends either. Hotel was nice overall, with a pretty landscape. King size beds were nice, quiet and well kept rooms. The bed was a bit hard and the t.v. selection was horrible (the one thing to do while sitting in your hotel room is stare at the tube, 13 channels does not cut it for me). Could not beat the price for the room, though, and the overall ambiance of the […] hotel is pretty nice. I would give it 3 and 1/2. Devamı

I've stayed in this hotel plenty of times but it was the first time I was put in the "Kings" building. If that's where your room is booked then switch it to the updated remodeled building which is called the "executive" building. The beds were comfortable and downtown Portland is only 6 miles away which isn't hard to get to but the hotel room smelt […] musky, had mold in bathroom and window seal and the room had lots of humidity. This hotel is older, and the rooms were large and the cleanliness was good. At my recent stay I was disappointed with the condition of the door to my room. The door jamb had been damaged, it was very hard to lock or unlock the door, and you could actually see light around the deadbolt. The food in the dining room for breakfast was terrible. The hash […] browns were completely greasy, overcooked and inedible. The front desk staff started to check me in and then made me wait while they took a phone call, and this seemed rude. Devamı

The hotel is dated and in need of some TLC, but the rooms are clean and beds are firm. A hot breakfast is included and is a plus. I would stay if I just needed a good night's sleep and not much more. If you get the "room with a view", you overlook a pond with a couple fountains which is a nice touch and pleasant.

The only problem we had during our stay was the tv didn't come through very clear, never got fixed. Food was amazing, bed was very comfy. I would tell anyone I know to stay there.

This Shilo is one of the oldest, and in some ways it shows. The outside paint is peeling, and the awnings need replacing. And in some adjoining areas, the neighborhood is on the seedy side. That said, the interior grounds are lovely, the place felt quite safe, and the room was clean and spacious. The free breakfast the next day was a real breakfast, […] not a steam table buffet, and it was quite good. This was an excellent deal for the price, and we will definitely be back. Devamı

... I have to say that I was disappointed this time. The room was surprisingly grimy. The carpet had a lot of crumbs on it when we checked in (like someone ate a huge sandwich and didn't use a plate) and it was never vaccumed up. Even on the second day! The shower head was at my chin (I'm only 5'5") so I had to bend over to get my hair wet and when […] I turned the water on all the way the force of the shower was enough to take the enamel off my teeth! They cut the complimentary breakfast menu down somewhat but it was still pretty good. The staff in the restaurant, lobby and bar were pleasant and friendly. I'll probably stay here again because I like the location and the size of the rooms. But I hope they amp-up the cleanliness/maintenance factor a LOT. Devamı

The room was clean and comfortable. Parking was easy to get to. The free TV programs were boring. The free breakfast took over half an hour to arrive. I was not told there would be a deposit for potential room service and such. As a result there was confusion over my debit card. The room itself looked great; the bed was comfy, and the linens were nice. The HVAC unit worked well. In-room fridge is always a plus. Now the negatives: 1. I had to plug in my cell phone charger behind the nightstand, and when pulling the nightstand out a little bit to access the outlet, it was clear that the carpet behind the furniture hadn't been […] vacuumed in ages. All kinds of stuff back there, including dandruff particles (yuck!). 2. The shower drain ran veeeerrrry sloooowly; I don't take long showers, but even at the end of my shower, there were a good two inches of standing water in the tub. That's a big pet peeve. 3. When my shower was done, I grabbed a towel, unfolded it, and started drying off; just a moment or two after starting to dry my hair, I noticed a black spider fall off the towel and onto the bottom of the tub. It was just slightly larger than a quarter. I could definitely have lived without that experience, but on the plus side, it made me forget all about the slow drain and dandruff. 4. For the price I paid for the room, I don't understand why the Shilo gives such low-quality soap and shampoo. The soap doesn't even come in a box; instead, it comes in a plastic wrapper. Devamı

Got bed bites on hand, My whole hand was swallon. Had to see doctor the next day. The buildings are old, dark.

Too many maintenance problems - the sink drain didn't work; the bathtub/shower would NOT turn on so there was no bathing for 2 nights except cleaning without the benefit of the tub or shower.....Access to the hotel from Canyon Rd was very difficult as well. We have stayed there 4 times now but this was our last visit.........(The housecleaning staff […] should have found the problem beforehand). Devamı

WE INJOYED OUR STAY. THE ROOMS WERE BEAUTIFUL AND VERY COMFORTABLE. THE ONLY THING WE WISH WAS DIFFERENT WAS AN INDOOR HOT TUB.

Ok...that's not totally fair, though I did witness a, um, late-night, short-term stay, about an hour in duration, as I visited in the parking lot. There's a nudie bar just down the street, too. So I wouldn't recommend this place for families, or those of conservative values. On our last night, we also had the pleasure of listening to a midnight argument, […] complete with foul language and door slamming. While the facility is all non-smoking, it hasn't always been. Our room was in the back building, which may or may not have had an elevator (we were on the second floor), but had plenty of very outdated decor, and cigarette-scented carpet and walls. The room was clean, the fridge was loud. So was the traffic. Oh...did I mention there is a cigar bar just off the lobby? Non-smoking property. Uh-huh. The saving grace? The staff was really kind. But that's the only real bonus to staying here. They were helpful, and informed (sort-of). Enough to make it ok..but not more than *ok*. Devamı

Pleasant staff, clean mostly comfortable room. Comfortable bed, but postage stamp sized pillows and only three of them on a king-sized bed. No towel rack within six feet of shower. TV selection limited and most had poor reception. News channels limited to Fox, which I find a disturbing insinuation of corporate or local management politics into hospitality. Complimentary […] breakfast was slow and choices limited, but overall quality O.K. with the exception that biscuit was nuked so that half was hockey-puck like, silverware was missing and some of the crockery arrived badly stained. We were satisfied with our stay at the Shilo Inn.. and would probably stay there again..

The staff was very helpful and friendly. They made you feel at home. For an older motel, this facility has been maintained well. It is quiet and comfortable.

good room rate depend on season but good for me.

This hotel is a little dated and has no elevators. That is all I can say on the negative side. It was clean and the linens were very crisp and luxurious. They really make an effort with the full service breakfast. The grounds are beautiful and the landscaping is lush and it is a lovely place. We were there for a week and were extremely pleased.
