The Pod hotel was once the Pick Wick Hotel. It is still owned and run by the same family with the same care and professionalism. I was very pleased and have nothing negative to complain about. GREAT VALUE for the PRICE in an excellent, safe location. I will be back!

I really enjoyed my stay here. Although the rooms were small as others have noted, I was not at all inconvenienced by their size. It was just enough space for what I needed and the rooms were very comfortable, clean, and trendy. I'd definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and it was exactly what I was looking for. The price was excellent for the amount of space in the room. I had a room with a private bathroom and even though it was extremely small, I thought it was the perfect "pod" for me. I stayed in a room with a twin bed and the mattress was not as comfortable as I had hoped but given […] the price of the room, it was great. The layout of the room and concept that this hotel has is extremely unique and was all I needed for this trip to New York. I loved how small and compact the room was. For the right price, I would stay there again. If I were staying for a week, I might not want such a small room and would probably look elsewhere. I did find the walls to be a bit paper thin but it was quiet when I needed it to be. The location is great, the hotel atmosphere is great. It is not the upscale style hotel that I often look for but for this trip to NY, it was perfect. The hotel is exactly what it is advertised to be. Devamı

This is a really nice place. Others have complained that the rooms are small, but this was not an issue for me at all. I thought it was small, but not ridiculously small. It was cozy and just the right amount of space for me. The bed was comfortable. I had no problems accessing the wireless internet. It was a little noisy at night, but not over-the-top, […] and it was a weekend. The location is great. It's super close to the subway and you can walk a lot of places, too. I had great service when I was there. Sharing a bathroom was not an inconvenience at all. The showers were great! The bathrooms were spotless and I never had to wait. The lights above the door is a really nice addition. All in all, I think this is a really nice place. It's convenient, reasonably priced, and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Devamı

Nicely located to sights and the subway for things that are farther away. Room was clean. Small but nice and expected. My only minus was really the cafe they have is under staffed/slow.

The room was compact, but I knew that from the website, which provided sq.-ft. dimensions. But there was a clever use of space, including shelves. The view out the window was wonderful: pure Manhattan. And I really liked the surrounding area branching out from 3rd Ave. and 51st street. Close by are the U.N. Building, Central Park and Rockefeller Center. […] I walked to them all, but then again, I like walking. Hotel is hip, without trying too hard. The clientele is international, which I liked. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. I go to New York about twice a year on business, and I've stayed at a lot of different places. The Pod ranks among the best.. Devamı

We needed a hotel convenient to midtown and the Pod was ideal. Our double en-suite room was too small to turn the bed and so one of us had to climb over the other to get in or out of bed.

I recently stayed here with my daughter while on a trip to visit colleges. We felt safe, the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

Online pictures of the rooms are very deceiving. Online pictures make the rooms look spacious and bright when they are actually the complete opposite. Our room felt like a small walk in closet. Not relaxing at all. But the overall hotel was nice. The front desk staff was helpful and pleasant. Lobby is very welcoming.

I loved the Pod Hotel. My best friend and I stayed in a bunk bed room. The service was fantastic, everything was clean, and even though the room was very small, we fit the two of us and two suitcases each just fine. I had one of the rooms on the floors where the bathroom was not in the room but several of them in the hallway. At first, I wasn't sure I'd like this at all but given that I was out most of the day, it was hardly a notice. The room was cute, slightly bigger than a train cabin; the decor was colorful with decent music piped in the halls, elevator, etc. […] The staff was young and very friendly as well as helpful. It was clean, but small. Great place to sleep, but not if you want a place to hang out or work. If you came to see New York, it is a great deal. I stayed in a room (pod) with no bathroom. The shared bathrooms were close and very clean. The showers were wonderful! Lots of water, no airy needle spray. I never noticed a time when there wasn't at least […] one bathroom available. Devamı

Overall, the room I got was very competitively priced, especially for the neighborhood - very convenient to my office on Park in the high 40s. However, I would have to be kinda desperate to stay there again (or, the price would need to be SUPER cheap compared to other options). Having said that, I guess I can recommend the hotel, but with the following […] limits: 1. I found the bunk room to be pretty cramped, even by NYC hotel standards. I think it would be particularly difficult with two people, especially if they had much luggage (I slept on the bottom, and put my stuff on the top.) 2. I am just under six feet tall (so, fairly tall, but not super tall). However, my feet still hung off the edge of the bottom bunk. And, there was nowhere to sit up - sitting on the bottom bunk, my head touched the top bunk. Thankfully, I was only there from about 10:30PM - 8AM, so I was mostly either sleeping, showering, or dressing/packing, but it would have really annoyed me to have "standing" or "lying down" as my only options if I were there for a longer period of time. I guess I could have braved the top bunk, but I am a wuss and preferred to stay closer to the ground. 3. The shared bathrooms were not a problem for me - there's a good system where in-room lights over the door tell you which ones are empty vs occupied. And they were very clean, and had nice waterfall showerheads. 4. The room was clean and well-designed given the tiny space, but the finishes are already showing their age (scuffs on the walls, etc.). It didn't feel very "high end design-y," more like "clever IKEA design-y." Again, it is a GREAT price for a clean, safe room in a convenient part of the city. But before booking, be aware that it is TINY TINY TINY! Devamı

The Pod is exactly what it sounds like: a small, yet sufficient place to stay while you're traveling throughout NYC. Located in Midtown East and a couple of blocks to the MTA, the Pod is in a perfect spot to hit up all the local tourist attractions. Furthermore, the local Irish pubs and great restaurants makes it for an even more attractive hotel location. […] If you split the costs, nightly rates are extremely affordable and definitely worth the price. I liked the modern decor of the lobby, room, and bathrooms. The location was fine considering I like to walk, and didn't mind walking to Lincoln Center, where I ended up a lot. Since I was traveling by myself, the room size wasn't an issue since I only needed a place to sleep at night. I did wish the wifi worked better in my room. There was no connection […] at all a few nights, and when there was connection, it was incredibly slow. But the lack of wifi also gave me an excuse to avoid working while I was in NY. This is the best value priced hotel in NYC.

The Pod is aptly named. Like a space cruiser or a "Pod hotel" in Japan, the rooms are small and spare. The rooms have compact versions of everything you need, and nothing superfluous. I was thoroughly satisfied with my stay. I needed a quiet place to rest and clean up between long work days, and didn't want an distractions. I figure folks coming in […] to enjoy New York will like the Pod, too, and the low cost allows you to spend elsewhere, and just come back to the room to rest and then head right back out again to enjoy all New York has to offer. I had a small, affordable room with shared bath. The space was exactly what I needed. Only issues: nothing in the way of temperature control except open or shut the window (which was fortunately all it needed); and the shared showers have insufficient hooks/places to put clothes you take off, eyeglasses, etc. Overwhelming impression, though: very cool […] hotel. First of all, you should know that this is a tiny hotel, but for the price it is wonderful. I stayed with a friend in one of the bunk bed rooms and it worked perfect for us. There was never a time when a bathroom was not available. Also, a perk I hadn't considered was that we could both shower at the same time so it sped up the getting ready process. […] The only downfall was that you had to remember to take your room card with you to the bathroom. The bathrooms were very nice and were cleaned several times throughout the day so I was never squeamish about using the facility. Also, the bathrooms are not like a dormatory where there is a row of showers. There are 4 on each floor each with a sink, toilet, and shower. This is not a luxury hotel, but it has a great location, met all of my needs, and was fun in a quirky way. I would definitely stay here again. Devamı

This hotel was perfect. We needed to stay under budget and I was travelling with my 17-year-old son. We had a room with bunk beds. The bathrooms were always available and everything very clean. Excellent.

Nice boutique hotel with friendly staff. Rooftop was closed. Very small bathrooms. Overall, good location for the price.

Great for crashing for a night. Rooms are small. Bathrooms are shared.

The basics out of the way; this place is tiny. Bear in mind, if you're 6 feet tall, you won't be the most comfortable here, and will probably have to duck in the showers. I stayed in March 2012, in one of the economy bunk rooms. The room was a bit stuffy, although we could open the window. However, there was no other way to control the temperature […] or airflow. Beds were comfortable enough, but pillows thin and cheap. Walls were paper thin, all the stomps, slams, screams and loud conversations from anywhere on the floor could be heard as clear as day from inside the room. I read many reviews mentioning the in-room indicator of bathrooms in-use, but I must have been stuck in the oddball room without one, which meant Saturday morning I made more than a few trips down the hall to see if the bathrooms were free. That same morning I gave up on finding a full bath to shower in, and wound up using the room that was just a closet turned into a shower... It was AWFUL, too small to get dressed or undressed in comfortably, stuffy, claustrophobia-inducing, smelly, and the tap was broken, so all I had to choose from was "Scalding Hot" and "2nd Degree Burn Hot". On Sunday I got a full bathroom free to shower in, which was a completely different and very pleasant experience. The theme and decor of the hotel was cute (can you say IKEA?) but I found the ever-present lounge music a bit irritating sometimes. Don't eat or drink downstairs in the lobby unless you like spending a lot of money on something basic; restaurants, delis, bars and diners are plentiful in any direction. I probably would stay here again, it's clean and in a good location, its staff is friendly and helpful, and it's inexpensive compared to so many others in the area. It has its quirks, certainly, but for this price, I could do much worse. Roof was closed for major repairs - Boooo. Outdoor garden near lobby was peaceful. Second time I stayed with my daughter for her birthday, wicked clean, convenient location and extremely helpful staff and concierge. I highly recommend it. Rooms are small but we only really sleep in them. See you next year.

I stayed at the Pod Hotel for two weeks in March. The location is excellent, the rooms are comfortable and clean, there is music in the lobby and the hallways and elevators. The staff were always kind and helpful, including a technician who fixed my television within 5 minutes of my asking for help. The main con was that there is a limit to the room's […] soundproofing, which made me wake up with the slamming of doors... Better hope for civil neighbors. Will definitely recommend it to friends. excellent experience. Yes the rooms are about the size of a sleeping compartment on amtrak but they are organized in such a way that you dont feel cramped. (who stays in their hotel in new york any way.) very efficient staff.

very good location in between 2nd and 3rd avenue, many restaurants, bars and shops all around, metro very close as well.walking distance to rockefeller center, times square, central park.....it's a kind of boutique hotel, very small room but confortable, free wifi. shuttle to the airport from the hotel for 22 usd (taxi is 51). good value for money, […] will recommend this hotel.
