Capital CityCenter Hotel - Victoria

It was a bit out of the way, I thought it was going to be downtown. It was on a major bus route, though. The room was basic, and I didn't make use of any amenities so I can't really say. The halls were in rough shape and in the process of repair, but altogether it was worth the price.

The room was OK, but the hotel manager smoked inside. Smoke wreaked throughout the building. Outside was alarming. The locals were rude, approached us with prostitution and drug deals. A man was casing all the cars on the street. I didn't feel safe in the neighbourhood.

The hotel was smoke free, yet people was smoking next to us, we had to leave the hotel 1 day early because of the smoking smell i have yang children,i cant afford the an healthy environment.

The hallways and over all building was a bit rusty with paint chipping and marks/stains on the walls. However, our room was a decent size (king bed, small table, small fridge and microwave, and bathroom), and had a nice television and view of the pool deck/city. The sheets had some stains that were a bit shady but you could tell they were clean- We […] chose not to use the top cover though. The bed was comfortable and the room had good temperature control. They had free parking, which is great, and the location was also a plus- close to china town and some really nice pubs, also a leisurely 20 min walk to the harbour. The best part was the price offered on Hotels.com- it was the absolute cheapest rate we've ever gotten, and it was right in the downtown area. The service was friendly but they didn't really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed, which was fine with us. We'd stay here again for sure for the price and location alone. Devamı

I was upgraded to a very nice suite. I can't comment on what the average rooms are like, but the suite was a very good deal as an upgrade.

Room was ok and clean, but the condition of the hotel in general is in desperate need of an overhaul....Staff is great and fun to interact with. It is a great location, walking distance to downtown, or just a very short bus ride....I would stay there again.

This hotel was chosen for economy and we were pleasantly surprised with the value for money. The room had fridge, microwave, coffee maker, also hairdryer and iron. Good wifi and basic TV. The room was not large but had a comfortable king bed, ceiling fan and opening window. The room was clean with newer carpet, decor and furniture. The hotel is 100% […] non smoking and there was no smell in the room or hallway. Maintenance looks to be ongoing with hallway still to be painted. For a winter midweek stay it was very quiet. At other times the soundproofing of the rooms could be a concern, also there is a nightclub on site. Easy to find on a main street with parking in a fenced but not gated parking lot. Don't expect the Fairmont or Empress here! Good value for your money but you can tell the hotel needs a fresh coat of paint and a face lift. I just want to mention a bunch of previous reviews said that the area is nasty and the rooms are cold... The area is a normal middle class area (again don't expect a fancy shmancy area) and we found that our room […] was heated too much :p Overall nice staff, good location, and great value. Cheap and clean hotel. Small room, had to change rooms so I had a place to hang up my suit. Good service to make the change happen. Small elevator to move my bags. Food primarily available in Lounge but good pub food.

This place was a dive! Dirty dirty dirty. Loud all night long, strange people and obvious drug addicts scampering around. Got woken up several times by people almost yelling right outside our door all night long. No sleeping in past 7 am either, as the noise was still going on. It was cold in the room, the bed smelled funny not in a good way, I wanted […] to shower early morning but no hot water. When I finally got hot water, the shower wasn't working properly. Hairs all on the towels. Floors in hallways grimy and disgusting. People smoking right outside the main entrance so the whole place stunk. Pathetic. Hotel was clean, tidy, well equipped (microwave, fridge, coffee maker, flat screen tv, desk/chairs). Overall experience was very positive, and it was also in a good location (only about a 5 minute walk downtown). I look forward to staying here again.

The only thing I didn't like was the temperature of the room, which never really got warm enough. Which is odd, because most hotels are too hot! Otherwise, the staff was friendly, the room was clean and perfectly located for my business. I liked the feel of the place, which seemed to be part of the neighbourhood.

The hotel was fine if you're looking for a budget friendly hotel in Victoria, but it's nothing special. No complaints about the room for cleanliness or functionality. I liked that for something so basic they included a fridge and microwave. The staff were nice and polite, though very quick to get you in and out. The only thing I'd caution is to perhaps bring a pair of earplugs, as the walls are rather thin letting you hear the neighbors if they're being too loud. Bottom line, it was okay for the rate. I was counting on their advertised shuttle availability. Upon arrival I discovered it doesn't exist. Also disappointing were the food service hours; 12-5 over the holidays. City buses & other restaurants saved us. I know now that confirmation of important features before booking is req'd.

Surprisingly good. The hotel was clean, in good order, easy to access, had a free parking lot across the street--not a minor issue in some Canadian towns, located in an interesting area i.e. Chinatown. The room was very comfortable with abundant towels, soap, lotion. It was excellent value for money substantially less than other hotels of a similar […] category or location. IDid not know much about the area - first impression was not good as we stepped into the elevator - doors and walls need a good paint job - never seen an elevator in such a state. I certainly will not be using this hotel again.

Our room was changed at the last moment when we had to point out to the staff that we had a small dog with us, which had been indicated on the booking request. Instead of a single king bed we were given 2 double beds, also the room was freezing,we called the front desk to ask about how to turn on the heat, they explained the knob which was marked for […] air conditioning , was actually for the heat and if we turned it up to high the room would be warmer in about 10 - 15 min. We turned on the heat to high and then went out for dinner and meet up with family, we returned around midnight and the room was still cold. The room was small. The king size bed took up most of the room. That said the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the little interaction we had with staff was pleasant. The bathroom door wouldn't latch and the windows had a pronounced gap between 2 panes that made a lot of whistling as it was a windy night. Our room had exposed wires in three areas. The room was dirty and very worn, no closet doors, no extra bedding, needed to wear sandals in the bathroom. A lot elbow grease would go a long way at this hotel.

The staff members were courteous. The hotel seems to attract a wide variety of people, from business people and tourists to others who are involved in prostitution. Some nights were quite loud and disruptive, if not concerning. It is no reflection on the staff or the management, but simply a sad reality.The rooms needed an overall cleaning, from dust […] behind and around the bed tables to stained curtains and bedspread. It was ok given that it was cheap enough. The room was comfy and clean. The rest of the hotel, however, was quite a mess. During my stay, there were workers in the hallway running some kind of cable line and doing all sorts of other work which made the hallway difficult to even use. I suppose it's a good sign that they're working on the place since […] it is quite dated. Yet, it was a bit disturbing. Not easy to find. Billed as being in city center, but far enough that it was necessary to drive to things like food and pharmacy. No breakfast, but a discount on the restaurant next door that had very limited choice and was expensive. Any other food was not within walking distance. Room was clean enough but felt like there was dirt lurking in rugs and […] curtains felt grimy. Reception door fell off while I was there and had a plastic tarp hung across it. Needless to say I used the stairs to my room rather than the elevator. This place is okay if you need a place to lay your head for one night on your way to somewhere else. Devamı

False alarm fire alarm in the middle of the night. Other guests running the halls in the middle of the night. Desk clerk with poor attitude at our arrival dealing with other guests.

Our room (#403) smelled of cigarette smoke. In spite of the sign in the lobby " Welcome to our smoke-free environment" the lobby also smelled of cigarette smoke as did the rather curt man at the desk on our arrival. However this same desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful to a guest who had only one leg and needed assistance. The girl at the desk […] in the morning was pleasant. We are reasonably sure that we left an adapter and cord for an electric razor in the room but when we phoned the hotel the next day we were told that it hadn't been turned in. Devamı
