This hotel is in a very convenient location, walking distance to stores, restaurants, and transportation if needed. It is clean, well managed with a friendly and attentive staff. We visited in September 2011, loved it and returned with our family this weekend. The family loved it as well and look forward to visiting again. Highly recommended.

Overall a great experience

We loved our stay here. Its out 20th visit and as usual the room was spotless. the staff friendly and the service outstanding in every way!! We can't wait to go back!

I've been to montreal many times with my friends, and we've been to a lot hotels such as Holiday Inn, Hotel de Paris, Aubri, and Econolodge. By far, Hotel Montagne is the BEST one we've been to!! It has amazing service, beautiful, incredibly spacious rooms, and an amazing view from our balcony. There was no noise, and I love how you can change the temperature. […] I am very impressed with this hotel, and will definitely be coming back. The price was a bit high, but it's DEFINITELY worth it if you're going all out. I recommend staying here to anyone. Devamı

Very strange place. The decore is something like a past-its-prime Las Vegas hotel off the old strip with fiberglass Grecian and Indian statues, dilapidated crystal chandeliers and quite a bit of red and pink. It smelled of incense throughout (I suppose it could have been worse). All that was missing was the sound of the slot machines. Marketing photos […] of the rooms, which looked okay on the website, do not match the actual rooms, which are run-down. The neighborhood was rough, but security seemed okay. The staff was very nice and relatively helpful but I wouldn't stay there again. Devamı

A happier "family" of staff, I've never seen! They have all been with the hotel for many years and have smiles and conversation for everyone. We keep going back!

Love this location. Just a block off St Catherine & a block off Rene Levesque on Montagne. Close to all ammenities, shopping, museums etc. Service and staff are really great. Balconies off rooms which are appreciated. Clean, free wireless, fun bar off lobby. Couldnt find anything to be unhappy about.

Very clean and well located. A bit noisy, as our room was situated right above a monster air conditioning facility. Hotel staff were very courteous and accommodating.

Great location, rooms were very large and clean. Staff did not go out of there way to make you feel welcomed.

I enjoyed staying at Hotel De La Montagne . This is my second year in a row visiting in Montreal and enjoyed my stay just as much this time around. The service was warm and friendly and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed dining and the convenience of two Restaurants a bar and grill and a night club with great music,all connected to the Hotel. Another […] good reason to stay at Hotel De La Montagne, is the shopping and the must see sites that are mostly all in walking distance. This hotel is an excellent facility to stay at, the location is superb and the quality of the service and the building is great. Would stay here again for sure.

Hotel is right in heart of downtown Montreal for the shopping, restaurants and night life. It is getting a little tired looking but is clean and well kept. The staff are accomodating and friendly but don't go out of their way. Overall a great place to stay if you want downtown Montreal.

What a great place! We had a *beautiful* comfortable room and the staff were really helpful. It's one block away from the street with all the terraced restaurants, and an easy walk up to Mt Royal, down to the old city, or over to the Latin Quarter. No complaints! :)

Very nice hotel in a great location in downtown Montreal. The only thing I was very disappointed about was when I asked the maid for an additional coffee for the room and she said no. This has never happened to us in any other hotel we have ever stayed in.

L'Hotel de la montagne is well situated in downtown Montreal and the bilingual staff were very helpful on several occasions. Our room was large and comfortable with a well-appointed bathroom ensuite. We enjoyed breakfast on the charming mezanine with its decorative European ambiance.

We were very pleased with our three-day stay in October. The room was the biggest and most comfortable standard room I've ever been in in a big city hotel. The location was very good. Help from the staff for planning tourist visits, etc., was excellent. Free WIFI, free umbrella loans,...all were very helpful.

Overall I had a nice stay. Convenient location, nice room. Will recommend to everyone.

This property is a little older but is very well maintained. The rooms were very large, and the hotel management has remembered all the comfortable details - fluffy pillows, robes, slippers... all the things that help make a hotel feel like home away from home. The staff were also very helpful and courteous.

An excellent hotel with spacious rooms and a separate shower stall - very important for elderly guests. Good service, and although I only had breakfast in the hotel, there was a plentiful supply of fresh fruit and choice of cereals, plus hot dishes if required. Helpful staff and altogether a good choice for Hotels.com.au

Everything was perfect.

The hotel staff was so helpful and friendly; the rooms were great and hotel felt luxurious.. Great location...shopping, food, transportation.. They had a great bar with live music at nite.. Very recommended!!!

There's a gentleman's club next door. balcony is pretty much useless. Unless you need to stay in downtown montreal go to the old port/montreal. Better hotels and neighbourhood.

The hotel was great close to places we were going,service fantastic room always clean.

The room was not all that, small and poorly decorated, but the bathroom was huge and obviously newly renovated. The bartenders do not know how to make a Cosmopolitan, they served vodka and cranberry juice in a martini glass. The surrounding area was very convenient. The valet service is bad as the workers use your vehicle to relax inside and then forget to take their garbage out. If your not parking then everything else is amazing.

Friendly courteous and accommodating staff. Room very clean and location was great for us since that's where we wanted to be. Restaurant recommendation from concierge were also wonderful.

I would not return to this hotel. I stayed in room 506 and it was shabby and seemingly dirty.The lighting was poor and there were initials painted on the window behind the curtain! The room had a balcony but no view. The lobby was noisy and smelled of smoke and there wasn't a doorman on duty when we arrived back at the hotel in the evenings after dinner. […] (I would be very uncomfortable staying at this hotel as a single woman) The staff at the front desk tried to be helpful with recommendations regarding restaurants and events around the city but that would hardly be a reason to return. I guess the piece de resistence was the note slipped under the door saying the water would be shut off the following morning for 3 hours!! Luckily we were out of there!!! Great location, fantastic big room & bathroom! The rooftop bar and the pool are a real find in the middle of the city. However, we stayed a week and were only allowed one free tea and/or coffee - this is a really mean attitude. They even charge $1.25 per tea bag after that! I don't like the sign "you are forbidden to take food etc to your room" and […] the staff have the right to check your bags! What a load of bollocks! It makes one feel like you are in a prison. Lastly, the balcony is HIDEOUS and why they haven't jazzed them up is beyond words...to come out of that beautiful room onto that ugly cement wall ruins the ambiance immediately. Devamı

Hotel is in a fun neighborhood, and is close enough to walk to the Business District, the Port, and old Montreal. The rooftop pool, restaurant and bar is fun (although it can get quite crowded).

Nice room that was comfortable. very convenient location that is close too everything. the outside of the hotel is in desperate need of a face lift. Pool and terrace on the roof was a big bonous.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended several restaurants that were great, and even made the reservations for us. The hotel location could not have been better, central to shopping, restaurants and night life. If by chance you don't want to venture to far the amenities in the hotel are plentiful, including entertainment in the lounge, […] and a roof top pool. We have always chosen Hotel de la Montagne when we stay in Montreal and it did not disappoint this time. Location, location, location! Walking distance to shopping, restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful always, and room was very clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to our next stay.Highly recommend. We stayed for two nights (July 15th & July 16th) and the staff could not have been more helpful. The location is ideal for dining and a short cab ride to Old Montreal.

So, I'll admit my experience with hotels is not the most wide-ranging in the world, but I have nothing but good words to say about the Hôtel de la Montagne. Located within a 5- to 10-minute walk from most major downtown shopping as well as the Bell Centre, it made getting around very easy. From the moment you walk in, the staff are extremely courteous […] and helpful, not to mention fluently bilingual. At check-in, we were upgraded to a larger room at no cost for both of our nights. The room itself was gorgeous, perfectly clean and tidy and very comfortable. The bed was especially nice - I don't think I've ever slept so well in a hotel. The amenities in the hotel were also numerous, although we didn't take advantage of much apart from the TV, which had a fairly good selection of channels. The air conditioner in our room was also fully and easily adjustable. We even got a pair of fancy chocolate truffles supplied along with turndown service after our first night. The one slight downside about the hotel is that the balconies don't offer the best views of the city, even on the 10th floor, and they open onto a rather noisy street. But this is a very minor grievance, and it is still better than having no balconies at all. All in all, this is the single best hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere. In terms of value for money, especially if there is a sale, Hôtel de la Montagne cannot be beat. Whenever I go back to Montreal, this hotel will be the one I check first. Devamı

This hotel was overall very nice. Excellend central locatoin, very comfortable rooms and beds. The rooftop bar is popular among locals which for me was a negaive. The hotel boasts a rooftop pool however it is not reserved for hotel guests after 11:30 AM.This is fine if you want to have a morning swim, but if you want to use the pool for afternoon sunning, […] forget it. You will have to compete with the locals who line up at the elevators to spend the afternoon at the pool. within walking/biking/Metro/bus distance to everything. The room I had was spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower was great, although the lighting in the bathroom left a little to be desired. The only complaint is that the rooftop pool is open to the public, so it's unrealistic to expect to find a place to sit, even though you are a hotel guest. […] We were unable to take advantage of this amenity throughout our stay.
