We stayed here because it was close to our daughter's apartment. It was comfortable. The furnishings, carpets and wallpaper could use some updating. It is a good spot to stay if you want to be near the Brown Line or the Red Line as well as the action on Belmont not far from Wrigley Field.

This is a great spot if you've got a big group/need lots of room. We needed three beds and I was prepared for a tight fit with a roll-away. I was pleasantly surprised to find two spacious rooms, with two double beds and a comfortable pull out couch. Having lived in Chicago for many years, this didn't seem like the most desirable location, but it's quite […] secure (they lock the doors after 9 pm) and they gave us a room away from the train. So, I can't speak to how noisy some of the other rooms were. And it couldn't be more convenient, being steps from the L. All of the staff was very accommodating and friendly as well. Devamı

Room was clean, but very small. Close to the Belmont CTA stop, so could hear the train announcements. TV only got 8 of the 30+ stations. When I reported that to the front desk, they didn't seem to care. It's only selling point to me is that it is close to where my son lives.

My bf and I came to early for check in! But tht didn't matter they were more than willing to give us parking and take our bags in advance and have them ready in our rooms. The rooms were so clean and organized slept like a baby! I cute diner across the street for quick meals and breakfast in the morning at the hotel! It's hidden in a building so you […] feel safe. Very impressed with this hotel. Had just spent a few days at the Marriott in Detroit Renaissance and have to say the City Suites was MUCH better. They are right next to the Belmont station on the L and 1/2 a mile from Wrigley. The hotel had a nice historic feel and the neighborhood it's in was very pleasant. Building old but pretty clean. Bed a little on the soft side. El (subway) stop about 100 feet from front door, and Wrigley Field just a few blocks away. Interesting, diversified neighborhood, but felt safe. Hotel breakfast not much. Hotel parking in a garage around the corner and on the expensive side ($22/day). Room was surprisingly quiet.

Room was small but very clean and comfortable. It was very quiet at night even though next door to train tracks. Front desk clerk was not friendly and appeared to be bothered by any questions asked. Housekeeping was professional and helpful. Great location. We will stay here again.

We recently stayed at City Suites for a long weekend and I would definitely stay there again. The building is older but it is maintained nicely and was very clean. The rooms were pretty small but very clean and extremely comfortable. If your room faces the train there is a lot of noise but once the window AC unit is turned on it drowns out all of the […] noise. The location was perfect for us right in the heart of Boys Town conveniently located to lots of restaurants and all of the bars that we were interested in going too and right next to the train which was wonderful. This hotel was a great surprise! It's about 30 feet from the subway and within walking distance to wrigleyville and Lincoln Park. The rooms were huge and the included breakfast was great. The staff was highly accommodating and nice. It's not a "grand" hotel by any means but it is nice, great location and highly recommended!!

Tip: park in the garage at Belmont & Sheffield; it's very close-by, and cheaper than the hotel parking. The hotel service once we got inside was great, and our room was really cute and clean. I like that you can open the glass blinds in the bathroom window and get some fresh air. It was styled more like a tiny apartment than a hotel room, and felt cozy […] and comfortable. The bed was awesome...my boyfriend and I both slept like the dead. There are dispensers by the sink and in the shower with very decent soap, lotion, shampoo/conditioner and body wash. And this place couldn't be in a more convenient location. Lake View is a a great neighborhood, with tons of shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Plus it's like 20 feet from the train! I would definitely stay here again, no question :) Devamı

The hotel was within walking distance to the venue, restaurant and parking. It was comfortable and clean. The desk clerk on our arrival got argumentive with me about parking. I had prepaid parking not associated with the hotel and he did have abit of trouble grasping that fact. Other than that we had an outstanding time.

This was my second stay at the City Suites Hotel. My second because the first stay was so enjoyable. The location was fantastic -- the Belmont Avenue cta train stop is just feet away, as is a bus stop, restaurants are everywhere, and it is north of the more expensive midtown hotels. I can't add much that other reviews haven't commented on, except this: In addition to the extreme noise from the El train and our upstairs neighbors that kept us us up all night, our room was about 85 degrees (in the middle of February) and we didn't have access to any temperature controls. It was literally stifling heat, even with the fan on (window […] couldn't be opened because air conditioner was there). The combination of noise and heat made it extremely difficult to sleep. However, like other reviewers, we found the staff kind and helpful. To maximize your comfort, ask for a room on the other side from the El train and expect that it might be a quirky experience. We were staying downtown to see a concert, location of the hotel was great, RIGHT off the red line, very convenient. Considering how close to the train tracks, noise was not even a concern. Mini bar prices were SO cheap, that was awesome. It was really the location that sold it, the staff wasn't overly friendly but all in all it was a good time. The parking garage they use is abut a 3 block walk away from the hotel. That would have been helpful to know prior to getting there (lack of research on my part). As other reviewers have noted the train station is right there and it runs through […] the night, though I personally didn't find it distracting. Great location, right by the red line going to downtown Chicago and the 22 bus line which heads to Wrigley and Andersonville. Ben and Brian were great, and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. Light sleepers may have trouble with the noise from the train, but overall a great experience!

I took a short wknd stay to go out with friends and stayed at City Suites, the staff was great, location was amazing, gorgeous fireplace/social area downstairs. I will for sure be staying here everytime I visit Chicago now!

The parking situation was odd. You don't park right at the hotel, but you have to find somewhere to park (or hope you get a spot in one of the 15 minute loading zones) while you go check-in and get the pass for the parking garage around the corner. The room was nice and clean. A little dated and the bathroom was teeny, but overall I felt comfortable […] in it. The real bummer of the stay was that our room (on the third floor) felt like it was IN the El station. We could hear, clear as day, the announcements being made at the station and the trains themselves. We slept just fine, but it was distracting. And more than just background noise. But the location can't be beat. We were there to see a concert at The Vic and it was just around the corner. Which is why we picked the hotel in the first place. Great location for people who want to explore the Lakeview area during their stay. And the nearness to the El station has its upside, too :) Devamı

This is a great place to stay! Wonderful neighborhood and close to several train lines (Belmont station). Breakfast is fine, likely what you would expect for a free breakfast. The staff is amazing! Not a bad place to stay for the night. Parking kind of sucks, costs extra if you use their garage option. Room was WAY SMALL. Hardly any room to move around but it was clean. Train noise wasn't too bad at night. Good place to stay if you're in town to catch a Cubs game, its walking distance.

We stayed here the night before a Cubs game. The hotel is close enough to walk to the stadium and the el train stops just outside the entrance to the hotel. Perfect location and a pleasant atmosphere

Photo's must have been taken 20 years ago. My room was very run down, walls and ceilings like paper... creaking from the floors above. No window really as most of it is taken up with the noisy air con unit. So makes it very datk in the room. Breakfast was dreadful, also the hotel is in a not very nice part of town. Just don't bother.

Hotel is located in a great location. My wife and I stayed a night for my first game at wrigley field. If you are looking for a room where the city life is going on I would suggest City Suites. I stayed here in order to be able to walk to Springsteen concert at Wrigley Field. Very vibrant neighborhood, lots of people out at all hours. The City Suites was very clean and the hotel staff was quite helpful. Location is near Wrigley and across the street from the L which is very easy to navigate to other locations throughout Chicago. The rooms are very small, but quite clean and safe. I would stay here again with no hesitation. I highly recommend.
