Riu Florida Beach - Miami Beach

The staff at this hotel do their jobs with pride. From maria at front desk to fabiana our server the vacation was enjoyable. These people love their job and make all guest feel the expierence. Great place.

very noisy neigbourhood, old hotel with room in same age, everywhere visible that last 10 years was nothing invested in rooms and quality, expensive ocean view with cheap plastic chears on balcony and not closing door, no free wifi in 21st century in usa. very low profile, two star hotel in real

Lots of foreigners, learn Spanish.

We stayed the night of New Years Eve and had a very difficult time communicating with the employees. I called to confirm something had been dropped off the day before and got transferred to at least 5 people each time I called before they realized they lost it. It took about 3/4 hours before they found it. There was no room service and they were uncapiable […] of going out of the way to do anything for us. The lobby was lovely and room was decent. Nice personnel, good location. Old rooms, weird smell.

The service was decent. The room was a good size. It is very outdated and could use a huge renovation. But I chose it for its location, the price was too much though for what I got.

Don't be misled by the four stars out front. The eighth floor smells terrible, like painted over mold. A very limited number of hotel staff speak English, the shower curtain was too short, leaving our bathroom floor flooded, the bed was lumpy and the floors dirty. Ick.

I've stayed at RIU Hotels & Resorts in other countrys and was always happy with the accomendations. This was my first stay at a RIU property in the US. The reviews I read before I booked my latest stay were not great and was a concern because of what was being said was not what I experienced at other RIU locations. This hotel is near South Beach and […] located on a nice stretch of beach. The grounds are very nice and the check-in staff were knowledgeble. The hotel does have a lot of international staff working their which is a plus, they all spoke english well. Be prepared to pay three dollars for a bottle of water or soda. The rooms were large clean and nice. The elevator worked fine and fast. All in all I had a great stay and would recommend this hotel for it's resort feel and great location near South Beach. Devamı

As you can tell from the pictures the rooms need a renovation. Considering it isn't right on the strip and you can't really walk anywhere I am not sure why it is as much as it is per night to stay here. Yes it is on the beach, but thats about it. There were little things missing that I didn't think would bother me until I went without. There were no […] facecloths, bags for the ice bucket, room service, and there was an extra charge if you wanted to use a safe. Again, nothing huge, but you can get those things in almost any hotel. The bar both inside and out were awesome. Very affordable (considering how expensive Miami is) and a great selection of cocktails. Overall I might stay again, but only if I rented a car as well. Was pleasantly surprised at condition/service at Riu Florida. Will recommend to others.

the riu otel on collins ave is very well positioned for south beach only 25 minutes walk to ocean drive very close to the cruise port evening meal was good and not bad value pool area very nice with the beach on the door step

Only one elevator operating, others broken... no one working to fix them - massive lines for 10th floor. 5-10 minutes per ride. Put BABY in smoking room, even though we had requested non smoking, more elevator waits resulted. 12oz costco water was almost four dollars at bar! Staff stood around watching or on cell phones while you lug bags up to lobby […] around 10 steps - BOTH ways. Watched me put stroller into elevator to avoid steps only to tell me it was reserved for disabled people. Kid pool was full of green algae. Crappy location, relative to south beach action around Lincoln, My fault I should have done more research. Hotels next to it under constructions or closed. Generally run down, worn and dirty windows. The place needs a remodel but all in all decent place to stay

This is a very outdated hotel. The old TV even had static. It might be acceptable to foreign travelers, but the service levels leave something to be desired.

I have stayed at the Rui properties in other countries and they seemed in better shape. It could be really nice if they would update the property. I don't think they've done anything with the rooms since they opened the place...years ago. The service was friendly and it was a convenient location. Not a lot of room near and around pool area. Also not a lot of Engish speaking guests or staff --some english, but hard to understand-. Room was ready early and also hotel had a holding room for luggage for before and after you check out which was a god send. Long wait for elevators...All and all I would stay again but may prefer to be further South. […] A bit North for us...walked 20 blocks via sand for South Beach attractions. There was no such thing as customer service at this hotel. Pulled sheets off bed, told housekeeping wanted clean sheets cause there was already "black stuff " on the sheets when we arrived. They put the same sheets back on the bed and told us they were clean. Trying to get your car out of Vallet Parking at the hotel is a joke-plan on it taking at least […] 30 minutes to get your car. We stayed 2 days at Riu at the end of September 2011, waiting for our cruise. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the pool area. The front desk lady was upset when told we did not want a smoking room and she was very put off. When we finally got to our room the room smelled, the carpet was dirty, paint was peeling and the bath room needed […] updating. The toilet and bath tub both backed upped and would not drain ( a plumber had to be called). The front desk refused to change rooms for us, saying "they were sold out". All the rooms need to be updated and fast.... The pool area was nice and clean and the pool bar was nice. When checking out, someone signed my name for breakfast buffet to our room, even though I payed cash for the buffet. So check your bill when leaving... next to the hotel are abanded buildings and many homeless people hang out around them, would not walk around at night. Right off the beach, very calm as there are not a lot of restaurants and shops nearby, but above all the service was outstanding... incredibly friendly and willing to help. The room and the beds were nice and going for a balcony on the east side is well worth it!

Don't go there. Not good. Not nice

We stayed at this hotel 15 years ago, and it seems it didn't changed that much, needs some renovation and uplift. But from cleaning perspectives it is a good hotel.

The breakfast offered was simply outstanding. I was a bit disappointed with the times allowed for the outside and inside bars. The outside shuts down early and then the inside opens an hour later. I wished to use them often when they were not available. The only other issue I had ...no available washcloths for the room. I had one and then the second […] day none.....I had to ask four different workers on my floor for one and they said call the desk, I tried and the desk did not answer. I finally found the last cloth available inside the storage closet by the elevator. Devamı

I have only two issue - when we arrived no one was there to greet us with our luggage. The bell hop was on a break smoking a cigarrette on the phone. We had to take our own bags out of the car and up the stairs to the front desk then to our room. The next issue - there were four of us in the room. We consistantly asked for wash clothes. Hotel was clean but very dated. The room was clean but old and worn. The grounds are beautiful and beach access was a great plus. Valet parking was very quick. Next time I'd probably stay closer to South Beach where the action is or go north - higher end.

Understanding that the hotel was slightly older than some in the surrounding areas we when in with an open mind. However upon our arrival the front desk clerk was not friendly and quite impatient with the guest checking in. Once we entered our room we found that the carpet was FILTHY and the bed spreads dingy (I am hoping from age and not dirt). hotel was nice, the breakfast hours are too short.high priced buffet needed to take a cab into nightlife on south beach beach chairs and umbrellas we had to pay for everything is ala carte no coffee makers in rooms I had to pay for a room safe $2.00 a day not happy about that. you also had to pay to use the hotel computer to print out airline tickets […] $6.50 an hr they will not print out your tickets Devamı

worried about recent reviews, the hotel did not not smell as noted in the hallways. if they upgraded the bathroom and put better shampoos and added fluffy comforters reviews would be great. European influence of basics like older small tvs. could use more hotel amenities but housekeeping service very good.

The staff was really nice. The hotel was further from the south beach area than we would have liked. Very nice for the price.

Great Hotel, close to beach, a little far from South beach, but doable. Great for kids, could have more dining options.

The hotel lacked some basic amenities in room, such as body lotion, separate shampoo and conditioner. Restaurant hours were very limited as was the menu. I never written a review before but felt compelled to do so this time. My room was filthy. Examples: left over gum package on the countertop, a woman's hair band stuck to a towel, and hair on the floor. I would have accepted the outdated decor but having to pay $9 for two bottles of water at the bar and $18 to park my car and being told I could only […] have one towel at the pool created an over all feeling of getting ripped off. Excellent location directly on the beach. Easy access to lots of activities. Rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Rooms could use some new decorating, especially the carpets. But helpful, smiling, friendly, knowlegable staff made up for that. Definitely many foreigners here but being from NY this didn't bother me too much. This is definitely NOT a party hotel. The lobby bar closes at 12AM and they breakfast is served from 7:30AM - 10:00AM. The pool is great and the beach is right there. We definitely had a great view from our ocean front room. The staff was very friendly and accommodated […] us even though they messed up our room twice. The location is OK if you don't want to really go downtown. However, we saw ourselves paying $10 cabs back and forth to and from downtown maybe twice a day. Overall: Nice views, good pool, great staff but definitely more family/couple oriented then single partying people. Devamı
