Richmond Oceanfront Hotel - Miami Beach

The sheets were dirty, furnishing were old and outdated, had to unplug lamps and tv in order to charge our phones. Will not stay here again!

Overall a nice stay. Hot tub and direct access to the beach is definitely a plus. Otherwise, don't expect too much. Rooms are smallish, bathrooms are old fashioned (cute and clean though), and walls are thin - typical for art deco properties.

Convenient location, close to a whole bunch of restaurants and really good service at the hotel. Will definitely come back a second time. Perfect for a getaway, rooms are very clean, specially that. I recommend this place.

This was our first stay at The Richmond. The location is awesome. The front desk staff is friendly and the bellmen were helpful and exceptionally quick. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. The pool view is gorgeous and relaxing. The only complaint I have is that I asked to borrow a pair of scissors that I would return as we were getting ready […] to check out. Unfortunately, I was told I would have to bring the item to be trimmed to the front desk as they only had one pair. First of all we had all that we wanted. Great hotel with a pool. Walking distance to beach. Had to pay 20$ for rental of chairs but that was ok - because once they were rented they were ours for the day. Make sure to keep the receipt with you because the beach staff is quick on trying to get their $$$ for the rentals. It had rained so we left the beach […] - once the rain stopped we went back and they wanted our $$ again. Luckily I did not get rid of my receipt. The hotel is in walking distance to restaurants and shopping. We would stay hear again. We got what we paid for and we were really satisfied. We would definitely stay here again. The hotel staff were very helpful especially the front desk the room was clean and tidy it was very quiet with a nice outdoor pool and just 50yards from the beach.the hotel is very well situated in South Beach and i would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel to anyone my stay was very enjoyable.

Considering the price we spent on our four night stay here I wasn't expecting much, how wrong we were. The hotel was spotless and in a beautiful location. The staff were absolutely fantastic, helpful, friendly and made you feel welcome (especially the porters) and the rooms were cosy and well equipt. The location of the Richmond hotel is fantastic. Immediate access to the beach and a few minutes to the Ocean Drive. Parking garage for $ 16 per 24 hours close by (Collins Avenue about 3 blocks south )

From the moment you walk in, everything about the place feels and looks like a hostel. I made the choice to stay in the hotel based on location, very close to the convention center. The room was run down and the bed was very uncomfortable. The walls very thin and I could hear the guest next door to me snoring all night long. I supposed to stay 4 nights but left after two because I could not tolerate it anymore.

The service was terrible and the cleanliness around the pool area was non existent. Housekeeping comes around 5pm when your getting back from the beach. Terrible experience, Will never stay there again.

Great stay. Room is comfortable, clean. Pool area is very nice and has a direct access to the beach. Walking distance to Lincoln Rd. Very attentive personnel, except for the two doormen the day we left...very unpolite. They need some training to keep up with the rest of hotel service.

This is a quiet hotel located on Collins Avenue, in the heart of South Beach. It has a lovely pool and direct access to the beach. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

A place you don't want to tell anyone about, so it can be your own secret hideaway. There are no babies crying, no beer guzzling Mansion neanderthals, no hotel nonsense that comes with many establishments. I AM […] MESMORIZED. I will be a long time customer. From the cook who has been there is it was years, to the pleasant housekeeping staff, the front desk crew and Dennis who are so chill and laid back and the manager all top notch. Its a weird vibe there, almost so laid back itd as if you own the place. They let you kind of run the show so to speak. No one pressures you, there isn't housekeeping banging on doors at nine am. I was given a corner room at the front of the hotel. It had a nice layout and large closet. The front 1/2 of the hotel is classic deco with a smaller bathroom and original? tile, small sink, and replacement modular tub that suited me fine. The pool area was very nice with direct boardwalk access to beach where you can rent a chair and umbrella for $15. […] The downside is that the walls are thin and the windows original? so traffic noise and neighbors conversations are audible. Good location and priced right. I had booked the ocean view for 2 nights. However, the first night they booked me into a lesser room which I hadn't noticed because of the time of day. In the morning, I saw the view of the neighboring hotel's pool from the 3rd floor. So, the compensated me with free breakfasts and put me in correct room for 2nd night. […] The room was COLD. 64 F on the room thermostat. It's a dummy thermostat that I could not change! So, I phoned the desk and they said the temperature was centrally controlled. They sent a guy up who tried to close off the A/C vents to the room. With that and turning on light bulbs, temp went up to 68F after a while - cold but bearable. Still, no temp control to rectify 64F is unacceptable. Devamı

Location was good. Staff hospitality poor. Parking at $35 per day plus taxes plus valet was too expensive. Average room amenties.Paying $10 a day for internet was a plain rip off with free internet available on the street.

PLEASE do not stay here, I really wish Someone had written this review when I was looking for a hotel. It's cheap yes, but it is the most out dated hotel on the strip. Nowhere good to eat, a pool area so dead you can hear a pin drop, the bar area is the worst little bar I've ever seen. It's like alcohol inside of a closet. This hotel is fabulous if you're looking for classy accommodations in the heart of South Beach but aren't demanding pampering or extravagance. The room was cozy and stylish. Bed was comfortable, bathroom sparkling and all the normal amenities available. The hotel is very well maintained, with the unfortunate exception of the lobby (where the decor is […] a bit outdated) and the stairwells (which I guess no one but us uses!). Behind the hotel is a lovely terrace area with a pool, hot tub, and cafe serving simple but delicious food and drinks. This terrace leads directly out onto the multi-use trail running the length of Miami Beach, and then directly onto the beach itself. On the beach there are lounge chairs and umbrella's available, as well as food and drink service. The hotel is a short walk from the shopping district on Lincoln Road, as well as many restaurants and stores with beach accessories. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was easy to catch a cab, or the public transit bus, to the airport from right outside the hotel. Many of the popular clubs are within a 10 minute walk. The only downsides were that there was no free WiFi (though seems like it could be purchased through AT&T), the computers in the business center seemed to be down, and, as other reviewers have said, the walls are quite thin and we could occasionally hear loud conversations that occurred in the halls or adjacent rooms. Walls are paper thin. Bathroom faucet leaked very loudly! Electrical outlets didn't all work. Cleaning staff just made the bed and vacuumed, bathroom floor extremely dirty.

Great location. Great looking period-hotel. Great pool, and beautiful boardwalk to the beach. The staff were really nice and friendly, in particular Chef. The only downside was the old noisy water pipes. They moved us to a quieter room towards the back of the hotel where the pipes weren't so clanging. The location is great, its only a few blocks from the heart of all the action but not so close that you cant separate yourself from everything. Every single towel we got had a random hair or two stuck in them and I do mean "every." The cleaning crew didn't clean the shower either.

Good value for what you are paying in South Beach; however rooms are very small and bathrooms need renovations. Staff at the pool and reception was very helpful. I would still recommend this hotel if you cannot afford big hotels names.

Staff on the reception politely kept me and my GF off the room till 5pm even though we pre-checked in at 2pm referring that the room is not ready yet. Second, its a hotel on the beach and with damp climate its very moist inside the room. Towels and beach cloths hardly get dry by the morning. Air conditioner system is new and works superb. Single queen […] bed had a very firm matters - absolutely no comfort. On the positive side, It is a quite place where one can sleep at night. The hotel is one block away from Lincoln Road (outside mall). Swimming is clean and well maintained. Hot tub for 15 ppl is a nice addition to the outside area. Other things to point out: The hotel does not have its own parking - public parking might be available in the area around convention center. Valet parking available. Breakfast is operated by a sole waitress who does her best to keep customers waiting in line to place an order and to be served. The hotel was in a prime location, valets were very friendly, but the rest of the staff not so friendly :-(. hotel itself was very dated, and very dirty in places. Bathroom clean, but bedroom and reception area, needs a clean ASAP!! Hotel quite noisy, thin walls and doors. Enjoyed Miami!

This hotel is old and in desperate need of renovation and upkeep. The rooms are dirty, tiny, and smell like mold. I really don't know how this hotel can charge this much and how they got anywhere near 3 stars. The staff was not helpful or pleasant. The location does not make up for the location, because its unpleasant to spend even one night here.

Fantastic location, directly on the beach. Very Nice Pool and Hot Tub area with ample lounge chairs and cozy red towels. GREAT VALUE!! The staff was very helpful checking in/out. Valet parking was convenient as well. Since it's an older hotel, the bathrooms are small, but it was clean. The bedroom was decorated in modern chic and the bed was very comfy […] with a down comforter. The room doors don't seal out the noise, so sleeping in was a bit of a challenge since we could hear the neighbors in the hall. The age of the corridors and building itself surprised me. This hotel has nice furnishings though, much better than other nearby hotels. Would say a 3.5 star is probably appropriate, if not a tad high. Bathroom has many of the original fixtures. Location was great, room was fine (clean, enough storage, nicely decorated). Hallways were in poor condition, odor & dirty looking. The television was a nice size, but only about 5 stations came in. Lobby and elevator were on the dingy side. The continental breakfast (included in the resort fee) was offsite and inconvenient and the beach chairs should […] be thrown away and replaced.
