San Joaquin Hotel - Fresno

I have stayed here a few times. I like the layout of the suites, and pool area and surrounding gardens are very nice including the sculptural fountains. But the room furniture was tired and not very comfortable. The pool furniture was made of plastic wicker and had rotted in the sun. It needs replacing too. We stayed in this hotel for one night while traveling and we were surprised by how outdated the hotel was based on previous people reviews. I usually do not post negative reviews but this hotel made me feel a little uncomfortable. The room has old CRT TVs, the one in the bedroom would not turn on, squeaky bed, smell you find in old houses, etc...

Very nice hotel- bed wasn't too comfy. But overall great stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our original room had a few minor problems but the staff were very helpful and gave us another room. They were very accommodating and worked hard to make sure we were satisfied. We would stay here again and recommend that other people give them a try.

This is the worst customer service, ever. Give us the key to the suite I booked and it was occupied. Not to mention a $50 per pet fee unknown to me and a contract to remodel the room if any sort of damage. It was my Birthday, and after driving six hours we had to go get another hotel room. Just bad!

The San Joaquin is loated in the Fig Garden section of Fresno, which is one of the nicer neighborhoods in town. The grounds of the hotel could be compared o that of a european spa, with its various local artist sculptures, water fountains, and lushy, healthy greenery and flower beds. The room my girlfriend & I typically stay in is a jr. suite, it that […] the accommodations are basic (bed is comfortable and clean; T.V gets a good selection of cable channels, bathroom is in good repair and plenty of hot water). They offer a continental breakfast that has good, light fare (toast, bagels, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal & cold cereal pakages, hot tea, coffee, orange juice, milk, yogurt, and sweet rolls). We enjoy the swimming pool (wish the sauna was warmer and the jets working). Overall, the comfort and value the San Joaquin offers is way above most big name hotels, and feels like staying with friends rather than strangers. Devamı

This hotel was unbelieveable compared to what I paid. I basically had an entire one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and everything. The furniture was really nice and I was really comfortable.

great place. large rooms. beautiful landscape. if you get the cheap room, dont expect the ritz. even though the cheap rooms do not have comfortable beds and are dated, it is well worth it. I will stay here every time i come to fresno

Still there - due to work on my residence in Fresno. Like the room, except for the following: Stains on carpet - offer to move us so carpet can be shampooed - declined as we have too much stuff to move easily. Staff is friendly - love swimming pool and spa Convenient location - 5 minutes to my work and stores Continental Breakfast good. This hotel was not what I expected. It seemed like staying in an apartment.

Outside of hotel, lobby, pool, etc. very nice condition. Room could use some updating.

I stayed here 10 years ago, and remember being very satisfied. This time, it was exactly the opposite! There were problems with the lighting (a burned out bulb in the entry way and two lamps not even plugged in), problems with cleanliness (comforter and sheets on the bed were terribly stained), problems with the curtains (no pulley or rod to open/close), […] problems with the linens (bath towels were tiny and scratchy and the pillows were rediculously small). They advertised flat screens, but ours wasn't, the kitchen consists of opening a closet to find a mini refrig, microwave and coffee maker, and breakfast was more like a snack. The pillows are rock hard, so if you like fluffy pillows, bring your own.

This hotel is not for everyone. But if you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary, this is for you. Large suites that used to be apartments, well taken care of grounds with lots of artwork and landscaping.

The pics online made this property look great...wow....talk about false advertising. The lobby was nice, the pool area was decent....but the rooms??? Crappy old apartment-building-turned-hotel-rooms. OLD, stains all over the nasty carpet, bathroom was scary, and the "mini kitchen" a complete and utter joke....more like a microwave and the smallest fridge […] I've ever seen stacked in a closet. We asked for a room with a sleeper sofa or a rollaway for our kid....they assigned us to 3 different rooms before they got it right. I travel a TON for work and for pleasure and have never taken the time to post reviews, however, this place was so bad I had to take the time to hopefully save others the disappointment. For the $$$ we would have been better off at a better known establishment/chain such as Holiday Inn or Comfort Suites or? Anything but this...! Devamı

I had heard different things about this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised upon my arrival. You can tell theres been some serious upgrading and remodeling of the entire hotel. The garden area is very nice. The rooms are a good size..though the tvs appear to be from the 1960s. But overall I enjoyed my stay, close to shopping
