Horrible smell of pee outside our room!

the hotel was very over crowded and busy, staff were just helpful enough to pass as ok, they clearly dint care. Rooms nice an comfortable but wi fi dint work and the breakfast was a shambles, like vultures! there was was to many people for the amount of space, we ate elsewhere. not amazing but not terrible

Nice hotel right across the street from the beach. The room was a little cramped and the internet situation is inexcusable. 10 bucks for 24hrs. and you have to use a cord! We couldn't even use both of our computers in the room.

Over all it was a great place to stay. It was just across the street to the beach.

Our ocean-front room with balcony was outstanding! We felt like we were part of all the excitement, but yet had our own space. We enjoyed the fireworks over the ocean and the surfers. The breakfast bags at the continental buffet were a great idea! It was wonderful having breakfast on the beach every morning!

I've stayed at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel twice now. The location is unbeatable--right across the street from the beach, super close to coffee and the ever-handy ABC Stores, and close to lots of great eats. Service at the hotel is good, and the employees are definitely willing to work with you. Right on the beach of Waikiki this hotel is very well located and the price was exceptional. We had a standard room as we were only staying for 4 nights and the room was spacious, older style and a little dated but really clean. We only required somewhere to sleep and the Aston met all of our requirements. Front desk staff were exceptionally helpful. […] The complimentary breakfast of a morning was more than we expected with a huge variety of fresh pastries and fruits. Not the best pool in terms of size but the hotel was very nice and the staff were very friendly. Beds were VERY comfortable.

This hotel was great for a few days with our family. We have 4 kids - ages 1, 3, 5 & 6. The beach across the street is awesome for young children. It is shallow clear water with no waves due to a break wall surrounding it. It is like a giant ocean swimming pool that never gets deeper than about 3 ft. Even our three year old could walk way out. You can get a week long family pass for only $35 so if your kids love animals like ours you can go in for a couple of hours in the afternoon. The breakfast was great for our family, and they give you a bag to take food down to the beach. Elevator system is not a problem, just ask how it works first. Parking at the hotel is expensive, but you can park on the street on the other side of the zoo for free, which is, I believe, about the only free parking in Waikiki. The Aston Beach Hotel is a decent place to stay, the rooms are comfy enough if a little small, but for me it is all about location. I wanted to be near the lush greenery of the Zoo and parks nearby plus have great access to the beaches. For this trip I also wanted to be able to lounge poolside in case I didn't want to venture down to the beach - unfortunately […] their pool doesn't get any sun until late in the day and is not nearly as tropical as the pics make it out to be. Also, Tiki's cocktail servers don't come out to the pool which makes no sense since the seating for Tiki's Bar is separated by a few potted plants just a few steps away. My only other big issue was the lack of wi-fi in the rooms. I traveled with my iPad which made the wired cord in my room useless, so I had to trek down to the pool deck to use the wi-fi there. Unfortunately even this was not a reliable way to connect. The limited bandwidth was gobbled up by the others using the same service and I was frequently bumped off altogether after just a few minutes. Though I didn't expect anything more you should also note that the free "breakfast on the beach" is pretty much a carb-fest: mini-muffins, crossants, cereal, juice and coffee. Yes, you can order eggs, but that is for additional $$. Also, be prepared to rub elbows with the entire population of the hotel - this free breakfast was ALWAYS packed, so you either cozy up on a chaise lounger with the masses or you return to your room with tiny cups of coffee balanced on top of your single serving frosted flakes. After I had adjusted to the time change, I opted to walk down the street at a decent hour for a Starbucks fix instead. Devamı

The Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel was a great location, just across the street to the beach. The hotel offered a continental breakfast which is really convenient if you want to save money or don't know where to go. It's near Starbucks and Tikis Restaurant which was really great. There was a lot of restarant options, which was a great bonus. There was no […] wifi in the hotel which was a pain. And when you book a partial ocean view, you should check which side of the hotel. The room I had a terrible view and no place to sit outside. You literally had to walk on the tiny balcony and peer around the side. If you were on the pool side, you had a much better view with larger balcony and a chair to sit in. If I would have known, I would have asked for another room. My friend and I paid the same for our separate rooms, but he got a much better view. Finally, be sure to turn in your room keys. You will have to pay for them if you lose them. Devamı

This was my second stay at the Ashton Waikiki. I had an ocean front room. It is an older hotel but the rooms have been redone and the beds are really comfortable. Location is excellent - right across the street from the beach. Can;t beat the view every morning and sunset every evening. Staff was very friendly and I had no problems. The free breakfast […] is not all that impressive (cereal, danishes, fruit, and coffee with some Japanese style items as well) and sometimes it's difficult to find a place to sit around the pool. You can get an omelet or waffle for about $5. Hotel is very convenient to everything and there is valet parking for a fee. Devamı

This was my first visit to Hawaii and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and partially because of this hotel. The location was wonderful and the staff was great. There is a bar and grill in walking distance from the hotel called Lu Lu's Waikiki. It's a must visit.

I did have to ask for the room to be cleaned after the 2nd day however it was cleaned regularly after that. Overall i have no complaints and would recommend the hotel to anyone. I did think the included " breakfast" was a bit average as it included fruit and pastries and was served buffet style around the pool (with no seating)

Older property across from Waikiki beach. Good views of the ocean. Hotel rooms have been renovated and are nice but the bathroom still has formica counter tops, old small square tile floors, and dated faucets. No bathroom fan for circulation. But we found it to be a good value.

Pros- great location, right on the beach Cons- our room was falling apart, outlets falling out of the walls, broken shower, leaking toilet, etc. We moved from the 1st room which backed up to the elevators and was SO loud the first night plus all of the renovation defects with the falling out outlets, leaky toilet, etc made it impossible to stay in. […] Moved to the 2nd room which was not any better; the tub dripped all night, the mirror had brown marks all over it, everything looked run-down. Our parents stayed in another room and there's was just as bad. Their toilet wouldn't flush correctly...just not what you expect for the money. Devamı

Good value for money hotel. My wife and I stayed 9 nights in total split over two weeks as we were island hoping November 2011. The hotel staff were good as well as all the facilities. The room we stayed in was good, great view of Waikiki and the ocean, the only down side was we were near the elevators i.e. all rooms ending in figure 11 will experience […] the noise from these, we were in 2011. When we returned for our second stay to this hotel we had a different room although no ocean view it was quiet. Dont let this put you off make sure you do not stay in room number ending with an eleven. Devamı

Loved the place..walking distance to everything. Cross the road and you are on the beach. Restaurants close by...tour desks in house....comfortable beds..good size rooms...breakfast included was a bonus. Having read the previous reviews on hotels.com, checked all the hotel details, and 'walked' round the location using google streetview, what we found when we arrived was that "it was as it said on the tin". The room was pleasant and in-keeping with the class of hotel, the service was 'good to excellent', and 'everything worked'. The breakfast arrangements […] are unusual in that rather than having a high cost catering service, there is a buffet-style facility where you collect as much food as you want but then either hunt round for a table to sit at by the pool, take the food back to your room or, as the hotel positions it, "eat it over the road on the beach". However, it does "work" as a solution provided you are not fussed about not having your breakfast served in a normal breakfast room / restaurant. The only drawback we found was that the range of foods available was adequate but probably not as extensive as other places. So do not expect to get a full English or full Continental! What we assume would have been the hotel restaurant is given over to Tiki's Bar and Grill. It is at the front of the hotel on the pool deck over-looking the beach. It does not do breakfast but does do lunch & dinner. Prices are average and quality of food is good. They have live music every evening and atmosphere, ambiance etc is also good. It is open to non-residents and generally does a good trade every evening. Good for both eating and / or just a drink. Currently you can only get wifi access by the pool. In-room Internet is via cable. However the wifi by the pool is free to use and there are sockets for power (and yes, you're right - having power sockets by the poolside would probably not be allowed in the EU!). The pool area is in shade until after 2pm and only in full sun late afternoon. So the beach is generally better for sunbathing. Loungers and sunshades can be hired at the beach. The Aston is in a great location. Right across from the beach close to shops and restaurants. It is a clean and comfortable hotel however it does need some updating. Our room was very nice up on the 23rd floor with an ocean view. Their idea of an ocean view however is a room on the side of the hotel not directly facing the ocean. I felt this was misleading. […] I asked about this and the receptionist said that the rooms facing the ocean are called "ocean front" rooms. Hmm..sounds off to me. Anyhow the room was still nice but the bathroom needed painting and updating. They provide a very nice buffet breakfast which is free near the pool. STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND THE HOTEL OFFERS EXCELLIENT BREAKFAST. IT'S IN A PERFECT POSITION CLOSE TO THE BEACH AND SHOPS.

Located at the END of the strip. Diving access from the street was somewhat difficult - if you miss the one-way street, you get to go back around about eight blocks to get another try. You will feel like you are in a small prison. Two step security on the elevators - with no buttons - might appeal to the ultra-security conscious. Drawers in the bureau pull themselves shut with a bang so you can let your neighbors know that you are there. Partial ocean view was actually a view of the next tower's rooms. First when we got to our room there was a red stain on our bed, sick! We asked them to change the sheets thinking they would change all the bedding...WRONG they left the comforter and it was on there so we had to ask again. It was pretty obvious so I am not sure how they missed it twice. We were right by an ice machine and could hear it all night, people […] would get ice at 3am super annoying, so if you are by the ice machine ask to be moved unless you can sleep through loud noises. The rooms are really cool looking, they give you the Hawaiian feel. The bar that is in the hotel is called Tikis and it is super cool, decently priced and has good live music but again you can hear that at night (you are in Waikiki so of course its going to be a little loud). Overall the hotel was really nice, the view was amazing and the location was awesome, walking distance to almost anything you can think of. LuLus next door has delicious food and opens at 7am for all you football fans, it was nice to be able to catch the Michigan game there. Devamı

My husband and I ended up spending a LOT of time at this hotel, due to an unfortunate run-in with contaminated water. The pros: Generally nice and helpful staff, free breakfast, good location just a hop away from the beach. Decent toiletries, linens and comfortable bed. The cons: Noise in room - if we had the balcony door shut, we could hear the wind […] whistling through the door - if we had it open (rather than using the AC) we heard a lot of street noise (vehicles backing up, car alarms, garbage trucks, construction, etc), even 20 floors up! The breakfast also was lacking in any sort of protein so we were hungry within an hour or two. The shower had really intense water pressure - I didn't mind this, but my husband was not a fan. If we ever return to Waikiki (not likely, Maui was much more our style), I'd splurge on a better hotel. Devamı

Nice Hotel at the Beach. Nice people, easy chek in and check out. Good rooms. Pool area below average - but not important. Breakfast on the Beach was inconvient as most peoble tried to find a place to have breakfast at the pool area. All in all a good experience :)

Happy with our stay, great location just across the road from the beach. Breakfast was average and unfortunately only served till 9am, not good if you were planning to sleep in - we missed out a few times. But they do give you a bag so you can fill it up and take it away with you, either to the beach or up to your room or anywhere really. Selection […] of food is okay, got a bit sick of it after 10 days so we had subway a few times. The restaurant/bar attached to the hotel is great. Live music every night (good bands) and the food was yummy - totally recommend the Ahi Tuna Tataki.... Hotel is situated at the end of Waikiki Beach so a bit of a longer walk to get to the shops, but right next to the Zoo which is worth a visit. Check your room for the views, we had expected ocean view, but only got part ocean. If you want full ocean view with a balcony you need to book this. However when we discussed with the hotel they changed our room no problem and we ended up with great views.. Very helpful and friendly staff. Hotel is a little old, bathroom is small and could do with an update, but clean and tidy. Great to also have ice-cream shop, cookie shop and subway just below and of course the ABC store with everything you need is not far away. Small fridge, but no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Our friends stayed at the Waikiki Beach Tower which is better for families as they offer one and 2 bedroom apartments. There was only me and my teenage daughter so this room worked fine for us. The pool is great, free pool towels can be borrowed and chairs which you can take with you to the beach. The sun comes in at around 2.30-3 pm so thats a great time to spend around the pool, before then its in the shade. But then the beach is so awesome we spent most of our time there. ABC store a few doors town have Lilo's for a few dollars, they will even inflate for 50cents or so - totally worth doing as we bought ours to the beach everyday.... However Friday night band in the restaurant continued very loud until 12.30 making sleep impossible though we were on 17th floor. Guests with small children would have really suffered.

I REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY IN THIS HOTEL. WE BOOKED AN OCEAN VIEW ROOM BUT FELT LIKE WE STAYED IN AN OCEAN FRONT. OUR VIEWS FROM THE BALCONY AND WHEN WE GET OUT OF THE ROOM WERE BREATH-TAKING. OUR ROOM IS BEING CLEANED EVERYDAY, THE BED IS SO COMFORTABLE, TONS OF ROOM FOR SHOES AND CLOTHES, AND HAVING A FLAT SCREEN IS A PLUS :) THIS HOTEL IS LOCATED […] AT THE END OF THE STRIP. IT'S A LITTLE FAR FROM THE ACTION BUT THE WALK IS QUICK ANYWAYS. IT IS IN FRONT OF THE "CLEANER" PART OF THE BEACH WHICH I REALLY APPRECIATE. TIKI'S GRILL IS LOCATED IN THIS HOTEL, REALLY GREAT FOOD AND DRINKS. IF YOU WISH TO DO TONS OF ACTIVITIES AND INVOLVE PICK-UPS BY SHUTTLES, YOU'D BE LUCKY TO STAY AT ASTON AS YOU NEED NOT TO WALK FAR. SHUTTLES STOP RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL. Hotel old and room not maintained very well. Beach view very limited. Not worth the extra price paid to be near the beach. Other hotels were within walking distance of the beach. Waikiki Beach is very commercial. If your looking for Las Vegas style nightlife and street vendors this is the place for you. Probably not as great for families but as a single guy, this place was awesome. Great bar overlooking the beach on the premises, great views of the beach from the rooms, and in walking distance to the best night spots on the strip.

We were greeted warmly at reception after a long travel day. What a great idea for breakfast to take to the beach! Nice area to walk to everything. We'd return.

There is No Communication among the staff members at the Aston. We had 5 different key cards for our room in 4 days. Manager never knew there was a problem. The Shower flooded the area below. They never moved us but kept coming in the room running the shower and trying to find the problem. Free Breakfast is a joke. Food is OK but it is like a fire drill. […] Never seen so many people push and shove to get to a muffin / sweet roll. I can mark the Aston anything off my list. Devamı
