Dorchester Hotel - Miami Beach

It was a great stay besides they played music in the courtyard all night on a Wednesday and I had to get up at 4:30am for my flight. The courtyaed is verycool my daughter 7 y.o loved the swinging bed. Everythibg was close by and their sister hotel had a great deck and Beach service. definitely would stay again.

The location for the hotel was great - not far from the beach and the shops/restaurants. Rooms were comfortable and a good size. One compliant - the music at the bar was too loud and played from early afternoon til very late (even though there were no guests at the bar) - meant it was very difficult to take an afternoon nap, or sleep early if your room […] faced the courtyard! Windows either need to be double glazed or music turned down!!! Hotel Manager very accomadating when we needed to change rooms due to this.. Devamı

If you're wanting to go to south beach for the nightlife, this hotel is perfect, close to many miami hotspots and within either walking distance or a short taxi ride to the others this hotel is in a good location. This hotel is not directly on the beach but does include access to close beach hotel amenities. There are free lounge chairs but the bar […] at the Marseille hotels pool is terrible so don't get your beach drinks there! Devamı

My girlfriend and I stayed in a one bedroom suite that was amazing. The staff was very professional and the rooms were kept clean everyday. I also enjoyed that I was able to have two beach chairs on the beach with umbrella to accompany the chairs. I recommend the Dorchester to everyone! We also loved the Happy Hour which was daily !! Here are what happened to our stay: 1. no elevator, and we happen to carry a lot of luggage 2. we stay in a 2nd floor suite which has a balcony that is shared with another room. However the door to balcony does not lock at all, which means our neighbour can come to our room anytime they want. 3. The clock does not work. 4. Fridge door does not close. 5. […] I almost got locked in the bathroom, the door got stucked to the frame. The best thing is the front office sent Mr.Handyman, Eduardo, to come and fixed the balcony door and fridge right after we called. And the swimming pool was pretty nice too. Devamı

We asked for a quiet room. We got a room with another couple in the bed, when we opened the door. After a long fuss at the reception, we finally got a new room. That was directly on Collins Avenue, so we needed earplugs for sleeping. Our group had three rooms. Nobody saw the beautiful pool with fountains the hotel uses for their title picture. Clean & nice hotel. Good location, 10 min walk to Ocean drive. While booking through Expedia, it wasn't prominent that there will be an additional $10 resort fee.

Hotel was just so-so. Room was clean but overall hotel was outdated. Good sized outdoor pool. Location was good - close to beach, sort of close to shopping and restaurants.

Would recommend and will return. Conviently located. Pool does not get much sunlight so will need to use their access to another hotels beach which is a short walk. Everything within walking distance and bus stop a short walk where you can get to all other places including airport.

Nice, clean hotel. Good location if you like to walk- not much within the same block. Good walk to go shopping. Was disappointed because we arrived early and although I didn't expect to be able to check-in, when I spoke to the front desk to find out when we should come back, the woman said that she upgraded us to a junior suite and marked the suite […] number on our parking receipt. GREAT! When we returned from lunch, a man that appeared to be a manager-type, saw the room number and told the desk person to change in to another room. Tired and hot I didn't question it because I thought it was to a different junior suite. But NO. We were given a regular room- which we expected from the beginning but after being told we were getting a junior suite (which are in a much nicer location/actually the pix listed in the ad are where the suites are, not the regular rooms- which are in a higher-rise area of the hotel) it was disappointing, so it kind of colored our stay. The room was modernized & clean & had all necessary ameities. We have to be back in Miami in January & I was hoping to stay here again- but I think we'll check someplace else. Devamı

Hotel is conveniently located w/in walking distance to Lincoln road shopping center as well as the beach. There are a number of restaurants and bars nearby as well. The Dorchester is an older hotel with odd room layouts and louder window / wall A/C units. We had a room directly behind the elevator with a smaller bathroom and dark hardwood floors. After staying at "comparable" hotels in South Beach. The Dorchester was a great surprise. Clean, modern, well maintained, and a friendly helpful staff. I will definitely return.

The Hotel is in a great location. Not far from shops and restaurants but a bit more quiet. Our room was located towards the back of the hotel and it was very quiet there. The room itself was nice, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony. We had an issue with the air conditioning. The first night it did not work at all and the room was very hot. […] They "fixed" it but we really could not control the temperature. If the air was on, it was on full blast and freezing. If it was off it was really hot. No in between. The pool was ok. It was not heated, or at least it didn't feel that way. We had a couple of very breezy days and it was too cold to go in. It also did not get much sunlight. The staff and front desk were very friendly and accommodating. It was nice to have the option to go to beach and have the free chairs and umbrella. I do not recommend the breakfast buffet. There are plenty of places to eat. Overall it was a decent experience for the money. Devamı

I was scared because I have purchased hotels on Expedia before in South Beach and twice was utterly dissappointed, in one instance even disgusted so I was weary. When we got to the lobby I knew that it was going to be ok this time. I was pleasently surprised when we reached out room and it was BEAUTIFUL! It was newly renovated and that was a RELIEF! […] The staff was so great, especially Jovani and Cynthia at the front desk. Even the sister hotel Marseilles, the wait staff Sergio and Roman, were very pleasant and accomodating. Jovani even upgraded our room when he realized that we had two children with us just so that we wouldn't be close to the noisyness of the street and partygoers. He didn't have to do that but he did, and that made my husband and I smile. Not a lot of places in South Beach are "family friendly" and I've learned that the hard way, but the Dorchester surely made us say "We will definently come back!" Maybe to the Dorchester Suites this time. Totally Satisfied!! Devamı

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, great location, they had a great little happy hour $1 coke and rums, got free upgrade to large 1 br suite. Would definitely stay there again.

Really good location for Lincoln Road (lots of restaurants), the beach and the conference centre (the reason for my stay). The suite was large and comfortable with nice kitchen and lounge area. I have stayed at numerous hotels in south beach...as far as location goes, it is good - however I have stayed in better ones for the same price. This place is broken down on the interior, the doors are moldy, sheets dont seem clean, beds are from 1969....and staff were not really that nice either.

The excellent customer service override any litlle thing one can find in any hotel. This hotel is excellent for families, is quiet, comfortable, spacious, and most of all is clean, very clean! The resort fees includes an umbrella with two chair lounges at the beach..the hotel is situated perfectly, to a walking distance to Lincoln Rd, Spaniola Ave, […] etc. and its surroindings includes Ritz Carlton, The Palm etc. Also there are very unexpensive restaurants around like Sbarro's with its delicious cheap italian cuisine, pharmacies, convenient stores, etc.. Since it is located in Collins Ave try to ask for a room not facing it because it could be noisy for light sleepers. We stayed in the suites which are perfect for a couple with children and they are situated in the back. Devamı

Rooms are extremely nice and the beds are comfortable and well taken care of. The hotel could of course use some work on the outside (as could any south beach hotel). But the staff was very kind and pleasing! The beach towels could have been better but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. A revamp to the bathroom would be nice!

This was a really nice hotel. I was skeptical at first from reading some of the reviews. But overall it was great. My boyfriend and I got there early, since we had just got off a cruise, and the lady at the front desk let us check in early without any problems. She was very sweet and helpful. The Hotels.com website listed this hotel as having rooms. We took a cab from Miami Airport ($35). Upon arrival, the front desk girl tells us they are full. I show her my phone with the Hotels.com showing a room for sale. She says they only have suits and all other rooms are sold. I ask her if she will sell me the room. She said the price would be more […] than double what was listed on Hotels.com iphone application. I ask for a manager. None on duty. Girl suggests I book with their sister hotel. Still close to double the price. I finally just take a risk and book the room listed on Hotels.com I was sitting in the lobby of Dorchester when booking this. I then walk over to her and say, "Okay, I have a room". She looks at me and then shrugs. She finally books me in to a "junior suite". WOW! The room was a dump. If it was any other place than South Beach you would have thought it was a dorm room in a frat house. Very poor service. By the way...this was 10pm on a Friday night. She should have apologized and offered me the open room for the same price as the room listed on the Hotels.com app. I might have been willing to pay a little extra for the "junior suite" (before seeing it of course), if she just sold me the room from the start. We stayed one night before and after a cruise. When we arrived in the morning after our cruise Rosa was extremely accommodating and found an available room instead of having to wait for normal check in. She suggested a tour we could take of the area that was incredible. The rooms for both stays were very clean and nicely decorated. The pool and outdoor […] garden patio area were very serene even on a busy street.There is a small bar area and restaurant on site.We did not go to the bar. The restaurant was fairly pricey but no different than others in the area.The food was good, the portions generous and our server Mark was wonderful. The location is prime for the South Beach area,all shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The entire hotel is a very appealing art deco design. Although the hotel is across the street from the ocean there is beach access through another hotel. You are provided with a towel and beach chair each and one umbrella per room. The room was hot, the towels where old and felt like paper. Same goes for the wash clothes. The lighting was bad and the beds felt like cardboard!

I stayed at the Dorchester hotel this past saturday night to Sunday. I have to say that over all we were very satisfied. Just a few things that could've given it a solid 5 stars: 1) given the fact that the hotel is faily small, there is only one elevator. So we had to use the stairs failry often. No big deal since our room was on the second floor. But […] stairs had a funky smell, like wet dog smell, sort of when a dog is bathed and left to air dry. 2) parking situation was horrible, on top of the fact that apparently you had to rent your parking spot early, the parking are itself was very small. One of the valets recomended i parked valet across the street. I didnt know he took my car across the street to another hotel's valet parking. It also took 20 minutes to retrieve my car on sunday! Horrible. Other than that the hotel stay itself was amazing, we had so much fun at the bar we didn't have to actually go out anywhere. Devamı
