The room was apparently clean but the smell in the closet and the bathroom was awful.

D.C. hotels are so expensive, it's good to have one centrally located at a reasonable price

If you're only looking for a bed and shower, this is your place.

We highly recommend the Harrington but read all the reviews and choose your preferences. We chose location and price over glamorous foyers and free bottles of stuff in the bathrooms. Yes it's sometimes thronged with school groups and it's showing its age but that is not to be confused with 'unclean' or cramped. Internet access is from the lobby only. No coffee/tea making facilities in room. Not many powerpoints and very old. Service was good and friendly staff and in a great location.

After checking the reviews, I had some idea what to expect…the rooms were clean…was surprised to learn air conditioning didn’t exist in the floors above the 6th floor so we had a ceiling fan…I would’ve been upset if it was August! Rooms were surprisingly sound proof, even if the sounds from flushing of the toilet would wake the dead. I brought extension […] cords and coffee pot, and was glad I did! The key asset of this hotel is that it's close to all the D.C. museums and memorials. It could use a renovation to clean it up, but you are paying for the location not the room. The room I stayed in was clean but faced the ventilation shafts, so there wasn't much of a view.

This was the BEST price for Cherry Blossom. Exceptional location on PENNSYLVANIA AVE!. We walked or took metro every were. It was fast and THE CENTRAL location . Thank you . We had a four year old in tow. ...The rooms were double and huge. It was older but very nicely renovated.

Well, the best thing of this hotel is its location. In walking distance to the National Mall. Lots of Food in the Neighboorhood... The rooms are, well, ok, not very good, but also not that bad. The best asset of this hotel is its location. It is centrally located and within walking distance to all the sites you would want to visit.

I visited DC for business and found this hotel perfectly located, which allowed me to add some sightseeing to my trip. The hotel offers a bar-restaurant, a diner and a small convenient store. The rooms are small and the bathrooms remind me of 1930s decor, which was an added bonus. I plan to stay here for all future trips to DC.

Hotel is obviously quite old and could probably do with some renovation. The biggest drawback of the room was the lack of hanging space but otherwise it was adequate for its purpose as I do not go on vacation to spend a lot of time in the room it is only somewhere to sleep. I was attending a conference at the Convention Center. The Harrington was very convenient and well-priced for DC. I had a room with windows onto the building well, so my room was perfectly quiet. The room was basic, but clean and just fine for one. My morning jogs took me around the White House, the Washington monument and along parts of the Mall - […] and I only run 3 miles a day, so that tells you how super convenient this place is for the tourist attractions too. I lived first in comfort inn and then hotel harrington this time in DC. Hotel harrington is too too old. Comfort inn would be at least a 4 star hotel if you give hotel harrington a 2 star rating. The location is great but the size of the room is not bad, but the furniture, blanket and most stuff inside the room all looks older than your great grandpa. […] The bed gives noise if you move in it. There is no wifi in the room. You can only access internet in the lobby. The TV is 18 inches and only comes with basic channels. The restroom is small but relatively clean. the hotel itself stinks on ice. The rooms are small and disgusting, my window stared out at a brick wall, the blankets had "stains". BUT, the location was awesome, right near the White house and Verizon Center - that is the only reason to pick this place.

Great location for sightseeing. Rooms are old and slightly musty but clean and comfortable. Front desk were helpful. There is a laundry in the hotel so very handy!

I forgot one item in the hotel and they mail it right away. It was not the only great costumer service I saw; they really take care of your needs.

Terrible experience. Not well-kept, old, dirty. Quality Inn Enola is a much better choice.

The Harrington was exactly what we expected, a clean hotel, excellent value for money, not modern but in a brilliant location, in fact such an excellent location that if modernised we probably could not have afforded to stay in it. We arrived in Washington by train to Union Station and took a taxi to the hotel, it was about a mile. The staff were welcoming […] and happy to explain where everything was. The room had everything we needed, en suite, complimentary toiletries, hair dryer, iron & ironing board and enough space to move around comfortably. The area is safe to walk around with easy pedestrian access to nearby restaurants and tourist sights. This hotel is perfectly located to enjoy the sights and ambience of Washington, if you want the modern type of hotel, built or refurbished in recent years then pay much more for as good a location or just pay more and stay further out from the centre of the city. When we made the reservation we understood this hotel was a basic-level choice so did not have high expectations. Our objective was to be in a good location in order to access all the sites. The hotel was old and leaning toward poor conditions, but it provided basic serv ices and the personnel were friendly. this is a nice, clean, old hotel. our bathroom was last remodeled in 1948! great location- walk to spy museum, ford's theater, macy's, china town, pennsylvania ave, the white house, museums on the mall, monuments and more. if you like new hotels you will disappointed. if you can go with the flow and like to walk this is a great place. 2 mediocre restaurants […] are attached but we ended up eating there several times for convenience sake. Extremely well located. Coudn't be more satisfied of the location of the hotel. I also want to mention the cleanliness of your room. Number one. The hotel a bit oldish but aside from that I cannot find anything bad to say.

If this is the first hotel that our overseas visitors see, in the beautiful city of DC, it is so sad. This hotel is old tired, cramped and dirty. I would never stay there again.

Stayed at Harrington Hotel for one night because of its convenient location near the National Mall, White House and other major attractions and close proximity to the orange, blue and red metro lines. The hotel rate was very cheap for DC, but then again you get what you pay for. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. The room itself was clean but […] its outdated decor gave it grungy feel. The A/C vent above the bed also had not been cleaned in quite some time so there was a built up of dust on it and the ceiling surrounding it. Besides a very very tiny bar of soap, the hotel did not provide any of the other essential toiletries (e.g., shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.). The bed wasn't comfortable and you could feel the springs so I didn't get a great night's sleep. The walls are also paper thin so you can hear people in the hall and the opening and closing doors throughout the night. I would only recommend this hotel to someone who needs a place to crash for one night and doesn't plan on being in the room except to sleep and shower. This hotel is old and has not been updated for some time, however its convenience to major tourist attractions and reasonable price (compared to other downtown options) make it a good deal. If you like any frills you won't like this. (no wifi on upper floors)

We chose the hotel for its location close to monuments and were very pleased with it,The room was small but adequate for our needs even though somewhat dated.The restaurant and outside areas great to sit outside at the end of hard days sightseeing.Staff friendly and helpful and would recommend for a short visit to DC

the service was great the staff help as on meny quation we ask, the hotel is near the white house, the mall and thenature history museum, the center Metro is near by, there is nice brekfast on the hotel , and there a good cheep resturent around

The Harrington was perfect for our purposes - which was to have somewhere to lay our head after a day of sight-seeing. It's in a central location and was heaps cheaper than the other hotels in Washington DC, which are generally very pricey. The bed was comfortable enough and the rooms were clean but tiny. The TV was ancient and had terrible reception […] but was watchable. I recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere practical and reasonably priced. No frills attached! Devamı

Staying in DC on short notice can be very expensive when seeking a nearby hotels to your intended meetings. Thats about all that the HArrington offers. I paid less than you wouild expect for a two room but tiny suite and just endured for the location. Lets face it, its old and really shows it wear. The Location is definitely what I appreciated most with this hotel! Hotel Harrington is located just a few blocks from the White House. It is in connection with great public transportaion to the Capitol area and other nearby must-sees! There's also some shopping areas close by the Hotel and a Breakfast restaurant located right next door. Parking was […] available just a few blocks down. The cleanliness and overall standard of quality was not something to cheer for, but hey -I wasn't there so spend my day in a hotelroom anyway. The staff was OK, nothing extravagant with them. But if you're looking for a decent nightly rate and GREAT location -Hotel Harrington is it! Devamı

Okay, I guess....Excellent location, close to numerous DC sites. Problems are with parking, as the hotel's parking lot is approximately 8 blocks away. Despite their being a parking lot next door to the hotel, I wasn't told the location of the hotel parking lot until parking had already been paid. I selected this hotel because it was close to 11th and H Street NW where the conference I attended was located. Harrington Hotel is an older but charming hotel and the rates were very reasonable. I liked that it was just a few blocks away from everything I wanted to walk to, including restaurants, Macy's, the Mall, etc. At night and during the day the […] hotel was quiet so I was able to work and read in my room. Loading and unloading my car was very convenient. The people that worked at the hotel seemed friendly and knowledgeable. My room had a nice flat screen television, big windows, and excellent air conditioning. The only cons were: 1) the parking garage was four (4) blocks away and in the scorching July heat of D.C. even walking a few blocks is very miserable if you are wearing a business suit. However the parking garage was very reasonably priced and there would always be the option of taking a cab to get the garage (seemed unnecessary to take a cab 3 blocks just to stay in air conditioning!). 2) I would have liked a few more outlets in the room for my electronics, and there wasn't an outlet in the bathroom for my hairdryer. All minor points. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, for buisiness or for vacation. Devamı

Amazing location. So much to see and do within a few minutes walk. Incredibly convenient to Trolly Bus Tours and Metro. Great restaurants and sites to see close by. We will definitely be back!

The room was nice, great location. AC was good the first two days, then not as good. The family restaurant service was poor, slow.......breafast food was fair.

The hotel was perfect for our purposes. We needed affordable accommodations in DC on a specific day near the National Mall. Other hotel rates for this specific day jumped sky-high and we absolutely needed the convenience of the location. We went with the expectation that so long as we had a clean, comfortable bed, a hot shower and the room was "bug" […] free, we really didn't care what the hotel looked like. It is OLD, so yes, the rooms are smaller, the carpet is worn, the wallpaper is worn, walls, tiles and ceilings show age. But the hotel staff was pleasant and professional. You should understand that we are low-maintenance, self-sufficient people traveling with no children. We're in DC for business often and know our way around, so we didn't need a lot of extra hand-holding. There's a FedEx office across the street if you need business services. Wireless was a bit slow, but we had a steady connection in our room. We've traveled in Europe and had far less satisfying hotel stays in hotels of the same age. Again, we didn't go there planning to spend a lot of time in our room, we just needed a clean place to sleep at night and a hot shower in the morning near the National Mall. Devamı

The staff at the hotel were very accommodating. I left something in my room after I checked out and the staff had it at the front desk when I went back. The hotel was also very willing to store our luggage in a safe place prior to our leaving town but after check out. The location of the hotel is very convenient both to the Washington Convention Center […] and the mall area. Devamı
