University Square Hotel - Fresno

Room is clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Free breakfast is a nice bonus. Across the street from Fresno State and on the same road as lots of restaurants & mall.

It was excellent once I requested and received a change of rooms in a very timely manner.

The hotel.was.full of kids for a softball tournament. Free breakfast (the eggs don't appear to be real). pool and spa a plus but too many kids to enjoy it. happy hour drinks m-f. perhaps i go again and hope there is no tournament going on.

While we were satisfied with the hotel, it did seem to attract people that just wanted to get drunk. The eggs (breakfast) was nasty.

Everything was good except for the Television. It was almost all black and you could not see the picture at all.

Very pleasant stay and the convenience of the hotel.

it was a great location , close to restraunts and shopping and savemart center (for the concert we attended) price was good and the breakfast in morning was awsome they didnt just have the normal fruit , pastries, cereal, they had make your own waffels ,eggs, sausage and bagels. The hotel could use an update its old looking but over its good.

Came 2 watch bulldog baseball and it was perfectly located everything we needed was Right where we needed it to be. Had a wonderful time thank you

We only stayed one night for a volleyball tournament. When you walk in, the hotel is dated in decor but very clean. The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful. It was a good start. The rooms are large and very comfortable. True to the reviews, the bed was extremely comfortable. Negatives.. again dated decor, thin walls, plastic cups, cheap towels.. […] reminded you that its a budget hotel. Although the bathroom was clean, the housekeeping left someones dirty towels hanging on the back door, they should be more careful. Everyone raves about the breakfast, unfortunately I cannot comment. We had to leave early and asked the front desk if we could arrive 20 minutes early and they said yes (like I said very friendly). But when we arrived, the entire room was filed and had 10 plus deep waiting. They looked like a tour group of some kind, not sure. So we had to drive to Starbucks to get breakfast which was a disappointment. Would I stay again? Probably, just lower expectations. The reviews were so great, I had high hopes that I was getting a great deal.. But the saying "You get what you pay for" is always so true! Devamı

Hotel is old. Just because you keep repainting the outside and change the name doesn't make it better. Room lighting is poor. Stained (mold?) grout lines in bathroom tile. Caulk does not fix/cover everything. Located next to good dinner/food places and the University. If you need a bed and a bathroom for the night, then this is your place. This hotel was a relative bargain. The neighborhood is not great, but not scary either. It's near the fashion fair and near some stores, so that's good. It is in DESPERATE need of updating. The TV is from 1998. They have minimal cable channels. The decor is from 1998 as well so that makes it seem a little less clean. I love the decor and layout of the […] lobby with the little bar. Our key cards kept failing so we had to keep getting them replaced which was a little annoying. This could be a 4 star hotel if someone would put a little money into it. Devamı

Older style hote ... outdoor pool area was lovely. Walls seemed a tad thin - could hear the TV and muffled conversations of surrounding neighbors but great price for an unexpected last minute trip.

There were a lot of sports teams and other groups of young people - running down halls and making noise and in the pool/courtyard until at least 11pm. We also didn't get the types of rooms that we reserved.

The beds were wonderful. They were perfect for sleeping. My son said it was the best sleep he'd had in a long time. Was close to the university which was perfect for us.

great hotel clean & quiet

Stayed twice, had the same problems with service both times , breakfast service is marginal, electronic key cards failed 3! times, requiring shuffling down to the front desk. Understandable, but they seemed to know the key failures are chronic, and didn't offer an apology.

Becareful a slummy looking hotel down the street with University Hotel as name...not the same. This hotel was clean and met our needs. If you have a large group this would be perfect. Teams etc

For the price- you can't beat this! Breakfast was great. The room was comfy. Right by Fresno State. The staff was great. All in All- wonderful.

I had a presentation at the university and chose this hotel becaurse it was close to the university campus. The surrounding area was just big roads and some fast food places. I was warned not to go out during night time as there had been some bad things happening nearby the hotel. I ran around the campus two mornings and at that time there were mostly […] students and people getting to work out on the streets. There was a 7eleven next to the hotel which was great for getting supplies. The complimentary breakfast was bagels, cereal with milk, fruit and scrambled eggs, coffee, tea and juice. Devamı

The beds were REALLY comfortable. For the price you pay, this hotel is a great deal. It is close to Fresno State and the Fresno Mall. The rooms are outdated but very clean. For the price, I would definitely stay here again.

The shower did not have hot enough water.

I stay here often and love the location. The hotel is dated but is in the process of being updated. Breakfast is great. A great value.

Our stay at the University Square Hotel was a pleasant one. The room was very clean, and I especially liked the bathroom. I think, though, that at some point it will need to be remodeled as it is pretty worn, but again, very clean. Although we asked for a non-smoking room (our room did not smell like smoke at all), the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. […] We only stayed for one night, so we didn't use the hotel service to its fullest. The room was clean,but shabby, and the "continental" breakfast was very limited and mostly stale. The tv only offers about 12 stations, and the walls are very thin. Could hear my neighbors tv going all night. There were also very suspect characters inhabiting the area, asking for money and such.

I asked for some additional blankets and was told to come and get them. The front desk clerk said there was no one to deliver them to the room. It was a walk but I did go and get them.

The rooms were large, spacious and very clean. The "continental" breakfast was actually much more than what you would expect, with eggs, waffles, etc. served besides the rolls and bagels. Coffee was good, not too weak. The only complaint we had was the poor variety & reception of channels on TV. What channels we got were mostly geared towards sports […] buffs or older men. If you have kids, don't expect to have them relax in front of the TV in the evenings or even early mornings while you get ready. Otherwise, it was a good place to stay. Devamı

Very spacious, comfortable & cozy room, compared to most chain hotels. I really liked staying here !

The hotel is one mile away from mall and close to many good restaurants. Very convenient.

It was horrible... don't do it!!! I went b/c it included breakfast and the picture made it look quality... Would never do again!!!

We were attending an indoor track & field event which was only minutes away from the hotel which made it very convenient. There was also a nice selection of food for breakfast.

Hotel was close to dinning and fun activities. Staff accommodating and on target.

What a fantastic deal! Hotel is renovated so carpet, bedding, furniture are all new. Excellent selection at breakfast---waffles, eggs, sausage, as well as fruits and pastries. Will stay there again.

Great hotel at a good price close to Fresno state w/ the best free breakfast

The hotel is good except I continue to have problems with the outside door readers. You can stand out in the cold waiting for the readers to work. Also, their breakfast service is over too early.
