This is a great resort. Service is top notch. We were there for a mini break before a business meeting and needed to print some documents out. There were two issues, otherwise everything was great: 1) the phone in the room only lasted about 5 minutes due to a bad battery, 2) I ordered a bottle of pretty expensive wine via room service and the bottle was bad. It took an inordinate amount of time to get another bottle. When it was brought I was told that they weren't sure if the bottle was bad […] or it smelled bad because the glasses were dirty. My wife, daughter (17) and I stayed at Surf & Sand for the Thanksgiving weekend - the goal was to get away and relax. This is one of the nicer hotels I have experienced - the ambiance is great, sort of a mix of 5-star atmosphere and beach casual; the room was very nice - right over the beach. The waves are very loud, which we liked, but it could be […] a minus for some. There are ear plugs next to your bed at night. There is a nice coffee shop next to a plush outdoor seating area adjacent to the lobby that has a fabulous view of the ocean and Catalina Island from about 6 stories up. We did not eat at the restaurant, but had a poolside lunch of fish tacos and burgers that was very good. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return to the Surf and Sand - it;s not cheap, but it is a good value. Devamı

The room was beautifully decorated, immaculately maintained, and had every imaginable convenience. The staff were highly professional and helpful throughout our stay. Although there was no air conditioning (AC) in our room, the ocean breeze was more than enough to keep us cool at night. Great location and has all the necessary amenities. Rooms were clean, fresh and comfortable. Service was personable and diligent. Definitely, will return for another stay.

Beautiful hotel in perfect setting right on white sandy beach. Every wish catered for by very attentive staff and both beachside bar and restaurant very special. Numerous great restaurants within easy walking distance and free trolly buses run frequently to and from town centre. idyllic - what more can be said!

The room was not ready at check in but the front desk staff was accomadating. The rooms are lovely. The bar and restaurant pass, the food and service marginal.

I have stayed at this hotel twice and it was wonderful both times. You just can't be stressed out while you are there (unless you think too much about the price).

The hotel is located directly on the water and most of the rooms have an ocean view of some kind. If you're used to the quiet of a farm, the ocean waves might keep you awake. But it makes for a very romantic evening. The pool is nice. Families were at the pool, but it was pretty quiet. Room 410 is right on the beach,,,,terrific location. Rooms light and modern.

It was my honey's 40th birthday and the Surf and Sand made it an unforgettable occassion!! The staff could not have been better and the property was immaculate. We will definitely be returning to this exceptional hotel in the future!

Nice rooms, private balcony, sunset view, good food in room service, wonderful spa treatments and massages. Beautiful place. The sound of ocean waves folding right underneath balcony. Couldnt feel any closer to ocean than when staying in these rooms. I look forward to staying again. :O)

For those in LA, this is a great place to get away without being too far away. This hotel does it all. B'fast in bed, nice pool. great beach. What more can you ask for?

Gorgeous Location Excellent staff, very clean, fabulous bedding. The view and sound of the waves are awesome.

We found the hotel very nice, the oceanside pool area charming and location outstanding. However, for a 4 star hotel they have some pretty major flaws: 1. no airconditioning. 2. A poolside gate that blasts a hideous noise throughout the oceanfront courtyard over which many/most rooms overlook. Due to the lack of air it is essential to open your patio […] door to take advantage of that wonderful seabreeze. Once that door is open, however, you are subject to the banging gate. It was our experience that this went on almost all night as hotel guests use the gate to get back into the resort after a midnight beach stroll or 6am morning jog. Even the hotel staff use that gate constantly and let it BANG. If you are a heavy sleeper it may not bother you. If you have young children that you'd like to keep sleeping you may want to re-think it. Even if you do not have babies, other guests do and believe me they wake up and cry with their patio doors open. To me it seems hard to phathom a 4 star hotel without air, or at the very least one that can't resolve the BANGING gate issue. It got to the point where my husband and I did not even want to lay by the pool b/c we'd cringe each time someone let it slam. We were scheduled for 3 nights and left after 2 b/c we needed to catch up on our sleep. For the price they need to really get it right and replace or fix that silly gate. Or upgrade the rooms to have air so there is a noise buffer. Devamı

My room was overlooking the ocean; I slept with the door open and let the sound of the surf crashing below act as a lullaby by which I could drift off to sleep. On my balcony I watched the spectacular sunset, the dolphins playing with the last surfers of the evening, and the sea change from azure to midnight blue before my very gaze. That same evening, […] I was served appetizers in the company of a wine-list-type selection of sparkling water (a first for me) with the open salty air held at bay with radiant heaters and a light jacket. The food was great and the service even better. I walked to a fabulous sushi bar to meet business associates in a funky-yet-cool neighborhood. Breakfast the next day was equal to the night before and the service remained spectacular -- I enjoyed the morning by the sand with a paper and no rush. If you have the means and opportunity – run don’t walk and stay at this wonderful enclave by the sea in Laguna! Devamı

We were right on the beach facing the ocean and the sound of the surf was very relaxing. The location was about a ten minute walk into the heart of Laguna Beach with all of the restaurants and shops. I would stay at this hotel again without hesitation.

I pre-booked and paid for a premium corner room. When I arrived we were not in the type room we had booked and paid for. When the staff at the front desk was asked about the change they admitted that they showed I had booked the premium corner room but were unable (unwilling?) to tell me why there was the discrepancy. When asked to adjust the room fee […] they claimed they had to check 'the rates' at the time of my booking(Dec.2008 !)and would call me. I have yet to hear from them after nearly three weeks. Additional calls have gone unreturned. As far as I'm concerned they're nothing more that up-scale thieves. Devamı
