The only negative comment I can make is the room has NO room darkening shades. We had the parking lot lights shining into our room. We had to rig a way to make the room dark with the pant hangers clips and the fake curtains that look like they should close but don't. Even doing this the room was still light.

"Room Odor"
The room had a funky odor that after a while reminded me of cat urine. and the bathroom was the tiniest ever. I wouldn't stay here again.

"Fairfield Inn Scarborough"
This clean, comfortable hotel is a quick drive to downtown Portland. We arrived two hours before check-in, but were able to get into a room without a problem. Our room was very clean and had plenty of space. One minor issue was that it was difficult to figure out how to adjust the AC/heating unit, and it was a bit chilly in the evening. "Needs Update"
We stayed two nights and needed to switch rooms after the first night because our first one smelled like mildew. Plus there was hair all over the bathroom (not cleaned well at all). The bathroom was very small - no counter space. Definitely the least favorite of our 6 different hotels on this vacation.

This has to be the OLDEST Fairfield INN that I ever stayed in. The people were very nice, but this place needs updating,,,

"Great Stay!"
The Fairfield is in a great location, close to the Maine Mall. The staff were helpful, they give day passes for a gym down the street and the breakfast is well stocked. We would stay again!
"Difficult Nighttime Check-In"
The front desk worker was having difficulty registering guests, because his password had expired, and he realized this at 11:30 pm. Therefore, I was one of 4 sets of people who was having difficulty checking in. He eventually manually checked us in, at the insistance of people in our line. The next morning, the same worker was still complaining to the […] new front desk worker at 7:30 am that he didn't have a password and still couldn't complete our check in. Breakfast had a good selection, but again, the breakfast worker was grouchy and became flustered every time someone asked a question. Room was clean and minimal - fine for travel. great location and staff were terrific. we just ended up with a room that had a terrible odor. they moved us after we asked but had put up with it for 2 nights.
"good night's sleep"
Pleasantly quiet hotel room - nice to get a good night's sleep on the road. The breakfast was well done - the hotel staff did a fantastic job keeping everything stocked and clean. The front desk was courteous on check-in.

When Marriott refers to this property as it's value property, I guess they are referring to "low cost" and a free breakfast and newspaper. I experienced a room with a heating system that you could not adjust (either too cold or too hot) and sheets that were either too old and worn or may not have been laundered in between guests. This is a nice place to stay in Portland. The drive into town was only 10 minutes, the breakfast was very good( great waffles). "nice but further away from OOB than expected"
We booked this hotel thinking it was closer to Old Orchard beach than it was. It took about 20 minutes to get back to that area which was kind of a pain. Other than that everything was great. Nice comfy beds, clean rooms and bathrooms (which is very important to me), complimentary breakfast was good and the price was fair. We were a bit disappointed […] that we didnt have a microwave and mini fridge in our room and our friends staying in the same hotel did. We would have liked to be able to keep our drinks cold instead of having to go to the ice machine over and over again. But i would stay here again, I would just ask to have a room with a fridge. "Excellent Value"
Great stay in an easy access clean facility for a reasonable price. If we are in Portland, we will stay here again.

Location is great--close to Maine Mall and the I95 to access other destinations. Hotel has nice security feature--all doors are locked at night and entrance and elevator is room key-access only. All-inclusive breakfast was excellent (great variety)--set up is tight during busy time in the morning but chairs were comfortable once we sat down.

The motel was in a good location even though we had trouble finding it at first. Handy to malls, outlets and restaurants.
When I walked in the room. I did not have a good expression because the pelow cases were wrinkled Yet the bed was very comfortable and the service was excellent

We had chosen this location based on location...easy access to Portland and Old Orchard Beach....Pool was great for the kids and adults...plenty of parking....easy on and off Turnpike...Internet was sketchy at best...first 2 days had none....third day was up and running...if you need this for business like I did... good luck....nice place offered canteen […] products....soda, pop, candy and chips for the trouble... "fairly decent hotel"
We arrived earlier than check in time and were happy to learn that one of our two rooms were ready so we unloaded some of our luggage, went and had lunch nearby. It was very handy to have so many choices nearby. The pool was great for the kids and towels were provided poolside. There is no jacuzzi. My husband and two older children were playing with […] a hotel beachball in the pool and after about an hour of that they ended up with slightly scraped feet because the bottom of the pool was rough. We enjoyed taking some popcorn back to room to munch on in the afternoon. One of our rooms had a small fridge and microwave so if you're in need of those check whether your room will have them. We took advantage of the continental breakfast, which served us well. I was hoping there was a waffle machine though. The only complaint we had was the pillows were too high and we woke up with neck aches and backaches. Since each bed had 4 pillows on them it would make sense to have thicker and thinner pillows - 2 of each. Visit Cabellas which is on Maine Mall Road, south of the hotel. Devamı

"Good hotel - great value"
Hotel staff were very pleasant and nice to deal with. Rooms were clean Free breakfast - lots of healthy choices, plenty of seating Only negative was the traffic surrounding the hotel - not their fault but just be aware if you need to get to a meeting leave a little earlier than you would normally. Lots of road construction. Will stay there again.

Stayed 3 nights for a wedding. The room was newly renovated and spotless. Great king bed with plenty of fluffy pillows. Very nice hot breakfast with lots of fruit and yougurt, as well as plenty of fresh coffee. the hotel is close to the mall, Target, Wal-mart and other stores, and right off I-95 and 295 - only about 5' drive to downtown Portland. "Great Hotel for the Price"
we needed a nice hotel on a budget. The room was decent size, I had two toddlers with me and still had room around the 2 double beds to put up two portable cribs for them to sleep in. the maid did a wonderful job cleaning the room, with 3 young children it probably wasn't the cleanest room when we left. the breakfast provided was good...there were a […] number of options to choose from, only issue was that there really wasn't ample seating for everyone to sit down and eat, i took the food back to our room. Overall it was a great hotel, close enough to get to most major attractions and I would definitely recommend it. Devamı
