Vaulted ceilings on the second floor made our room seem really huge. A tiny balcony ( about a foot long) was just enough to stick your head out and watch the waves from the ocean. Really enjoyed my stay and we will be back

Booked online last minute, read some reviews about it being nice but outdated, well its not outdated, it had a flat screen , and beautiful bathroom. Walking distance to the beach, I loved it and will definately reccomend and revisit. DIRTY, even smelled dirty. Hard beds and lumpy pillows. Tub leaked and got bathroom floor all wet. Found a centipede in the bathroom. No exhaust fan in restroom, just a poorly placed window. Walls, doors and windows not soundproofed at all. We could hear all the noises outside,even footsteps. There was someone using their garage as a woodshop in the […] alley behind our room so we head sawing and banging at all hours. Can't really consider muffins and oj a continental breakfast. Had to wait 10 minutes to check in (the lobby was closed with a sign that said "will be back in 20 minutes" but didn't give a time of return). I can go on and on, trust me, DON'T STAY HERE. The room was clean and nicely decorated. There were a number of nice upgrades. The area was quiet and the beds very comfortable. Fridge and microwave were convenient. Although some nice upgrades there were some obvious items that were in need of repair...back of bathroom door with damage and rust, a repair to the lock of the sliding door that seemed […] kind of shoddy and made me nervous re security. Beaten up cabinet under bathroom counter. In addition, they could make the continental breakfast better with the addition of cold cereals, milk , fresh fruit and yogurt. They just had coffee/tea with powdered creamer, juice and baked goods. Staff was very pleasant. Ok place, not very clean and no ocean views but great location and short walk to beach.

Great location. Surfers delight. 2 minute walk to beach. Great night life in town. Food and drinks plenty. Definetely a return in the future.

Hotel is really close to the beach. Good location. Bad part is hotel needs upgrades to old, to much noise. But if u are young and you want to party is perfect.

This was our second stay at Pacific Shores Inn. The hotel is an older location that has been well maintained. Since our visit last year we noticed that further updates and improvements have been done to the exterior of the hotel. The rooms are large and clean with comfortable beds and pillows. We asked for a coffee maker for our room and they quickly found us one and then found a replacement when the original pot didn't work. What we really love about this hotel is the excellent location. What's not to love about being less than a block from a beautiful beach with a safe boardwalk, restaurants, shops and bars. The neighbourhood is busy with tourist and attracts young people who are looking for fun at the beach. The only weakness that I see in the offering of Pacific Shore Inn is the continental breakfast. THe pastries, juice and coffee are plentiful but don't really offer a healthy breakfast option. We ended up keeping breakfast food in our fridge to round out the pastry options. Perhaps the chambermaids need better training -- or, some of them do. No new soap a few days and the coffee pot not cleaned out. We also had to go to the office a few times for styrofoam and plastic cups. In-room coffee had no sugar or creamer either. Often, all coffee was long gone at the 'continental breakfast' by 9 am. Great rate for such a clean, cozy hotel room so close to the beach and shops in San Diego. We'll definitely stay here next time we visit San Diego. I also loved that it was pet friendly.

it is close to the beach, which is a good thing or may I say the only good thing. The breakfast was very poor. You had to wait for the staff to restock. No soap or shampoo for our next day. The walls were thin as we heard the family above. Our refridgerator was in the closet, this was very inconveinent. I did book the room from hotel.com and requested […] a cot. It was not in the room when we arrived, when I requested the cot I was told I had to pay $10.00 per night. Shower was large, but not shelf or bench in shower. Bathroom was small. My family and I were not sure of what we would get for the price we paid and we were all very pleased with the location, room and service. I plan on using this motel again.

Great location. Nice place, friendly people. Did not spend much time in room. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, shops, beach. Good value for what I was looking for.

Enjoyed a lovely 4 night stay at the pacific beach. Hotel was really close to all the bars and restaurants and was a stone's throw from the beach front. Only things I would say is that be warned - WIFI isn't complimentary (it was at a lot of other motels we stayed on on our trip) which was really frustrating as in this day and age - it should come as […] standard! Breakfast was complimentary but would be great if fruit was provided alongside the selection of pastries. The celeings were thin so there was some noise from the family staying above - but nothing too major. No street noise which was good. The hotel was clean and well maintained with lovely flat screen TVs. For the price we paid it was excellent value and provided a relaxed down to earth location for our stay in pacific beach - with the bus located right outside for downtown San Diego (but there's free parking if required). This hotel is a stone's throw to the Pacific Ocean. It only takes a very short walk to Chalcendony Street. As you are walking down on Chalcendony Street, your heart will beat faster becasue you are getting much closer to see the whole wide blue Pacific Ocean! The ocean air is so refreshing! The boardwalk along the ocean can take you anywhere you go! […] The ocean view is amazing and magnificient! We will definitely return to Pacific Shores Inn on Pacific Ocean again on our next short wekeend vacation when the Phoenix, AZ climate is sizlling hot!! The lady staff was professional, very nice, friendly and helpful to us. She made our staying very comfortable, relaxing, and a memoriable moment at this hotel. Steps from the beach and easy walking distance to all of the restaurants, bars, and shopping in Pacific Beach. 10 minutes from Mission Beach, and about 15 minutes from the airport by car. They advertized that they were so close to the beach but they had no rooms facing the beach. The free breakfast was hardly adequate. Very limited. Not worth the money spent. Will never recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and were just delighted with this hotel. The location was perfect, close to restaurants, bars, stores, only a few blocks from Garnet. The ocean was so close it took only 15 seconds to walk there and I could see the water from our bathroom window.

Great little place. Nice rooms, nice staff, ideal location and good rates. It's my first visit and I'm quite sure I'll be back.

We've stayed in many places when we visit the San Diego area but I think we'll be staying here from now on. Great location re the ocean, friendly staff, lots of places to eat/drink within walking distance.

We checked all the reviews and just got back from our stay at this motel and were very pleasantly surprise; good value and location right next to the beach at Pacific Beach. If you like to surf - this is it. Just by the beach to a good price, rooms has kitchen but only doughnuts and nasty coffee for breakfast so go someplace near and get it there. If you are looking to stay in the Pacific Beach area this is great, but it takes 25 min to drive into the city centre for shopping, clubbing and great dining. I really liked it […] here. The rooms were clean and the beds were oh so comfortable! Unfortunately, the shower door didn't close properly causing leakage and a cold wet floor, but I informed the staff and they were very appreciative and assured it would be fixed for the next client. (I only stayed 2 nights and didn't report it until I was leaving). This is our 2nd visit. It is one of the less expensive, decent motels in the area. Staff is friendly & helpful. Beach is close as are restaurants & some shops. Not a classy area at all, so you have to drive a short distance to find better. Room heater (it was quite cold around Christmas) sounded like a garbage truck, but they accomodated us with a small […] space heater. Motel is old as are a number of others in the area. This one has been upgraded--nothing fancy, but OK. No breakfast to speak of, but nearby Firehouse Tavern has a lovely breakfast on their roof. Other good, nearby restaurants: Athena--excellent Greek. My father and I stayed at this hotel for three nights and it was great! Nothing too fancy but it was clean, comfortable and it was nice having a small kitchen with a frig and microwave. You can't beat 20 feet from the ocean...GREAT location. Staff was nice. I will stay again.

The location is about all it has going for it. We had NO HOT WATER, the TV was snowy and the curtains blocked the air conditioning. This motel/hotel does everything it can so you won't stay here again and we won't.

I would reccomenrd this motel for anyone. Super Clean, Great and trustworthy housekeeping staff. In the Mission beach area 20 minutes in any direction to any sights you might want to see. This Inn is about 100 yards from the beach with good surf. Any kind of food or nightlife is right on Mission blvd. with the Inn. we have stayed here once or twice a year for the past 5+ years. it's convenient for us, staff is helpful & friendly. the facility is older, but it's homey. we feel comfortable there & plan to keep returning.
