The location is prime and it also happens to be the locale of the opening scene of the original Hawaii five-O. I'll be staying here again. The bar on the patio is great but don't stay here if you are looking for a great pool. This is great spot to watch the green flash.

We were totally happy with ou room and the location--could use another chair.

I pre-paid for an ocean view room but was given a non-ociean view room upon checking in. It was only after my compliant to the manager that I was given an ocean view room.

This hotel is located right in the heart of downtown Waikiki within walking distance to all you need. Our room was great. They upgraded us for free to an ocean view suite!! The hotel is right on al moana harbor If you like to check out boats. There is a definable art deco feel of this hotel but with real modern amenities. Pool area was old with poor atmosphere. The grill and bar was under renovation and not open. The rooms were old and dirty.There was a leak from the light in the shower from the floor above and stains on shower curtain. Mold in the surroundings of the sink in the bathroom vanity area.

This hotel what's a good hotel, but it's quite old. It looks like it could have used a remodel about 5 years ago. But what makes up for this hotel is the incredible staff. Everybody who works at this hotel was very friendly. I have stayed in about 10 hotels in waikiki. This was probably not one of my favorites, only because of the condition of the hotel. […] The elevator only work about half the time. And since I was on the 24th floor that was a pretty big deal. The most disappointing thing at the hotel was swimming pool... very very outdated. Adjacency to the beach was nice. It was butted directly against the hilton hotel. Lots of food is very close by. For the amount of money that we paid to stay there I would probly pick the hilton over this hotel. Even though the staff at the hilton is not nearly as friendly. Devamı

I found this hotel to be of good value with excellent ocean and city views. The only problem was that the room was not ready even for 3pm, which is check-in time. I note they list check-in as 'after 3pm' and it was about an hour after 3pm before I got my room. Might be okiay if I hadn't flown overnight from Sydney to get there.

Our hotel room covered the basics - good tv, fairly large, comfortable bed, nice balcony, adequate bathroom. The location, across from the Hilton, worked well and there is bus and trolley stops out front. The furnishings are plain and a bit worn - could use updating, but we felt it was a fair value for the price.

While our room was lovely, spacious and had a great view, the beds were extremely uncomfortable. New mattresses are in order!

music from the luaus on the beach drifts up to your room at night, fireworks display close by on Friday night on the beach, great view of the city at night from your balcony, cool air from the Kualoa mtns filters into your room at night, large comfortable bed, widescreen tv, trolley/bus/taxi/shuttle stops right out front, right where all the action […] is! Hotel's location is good, all trollys go through this hotel and convenient to walk down to Waikiki. But, hotel is not that clean, but very huge and good to relax. And service in hotel is good, they are resourceful and help us to experience new things in Hawaii.

I stayed here several weeks last year for business. Nice very serviceable place, most weeks good value for ocean front. This trip (Janaury 2012) they closed the restaurant that served breaskfast. When you ask at the desk about where to get breakfast, they send you blocks away. Decent modestly priced food service is not easy to find in Waikiki. Large sized room for the price. Nice hotel, no major issues. They are planning to stop serving breakfast, but I voiced my concern and perhaps if many people complain they will keep serving breakfast. I was disappointed in the location and condition of the hotel. When I booked I was told it was on the beach. It was not. I had to walk about 5 mins. to get to the beach, quite a long time considering all the towels and equipment one has to carry to and fro. The pool had no palms or shrubs and offered no shade. We stayed here only one night on a layover to another island, but a great hotel location. Easily walk to Waikiki and to the beach. This hotel doesn't have their own part of the beach, but it is right next door. Only a nice 5 minute walk down the beach and you are in the heart of shopping and surfing. Easy in and out to the airport.

The hotel is clean, comfortable and well situated. The pool is only marginal, but the beach is easy to access. Management was exceptional in helping us with settle a housekeeping issue that was not really a fault of the hotel. We would recommend this hotel to our friends.

this hotel wasn't the fanciest hotel on the beach but it was affordable and comfortable and near everything you want it to be near. the pool area could use some updating but otherwise it was a good place to stay.

the hotel is older but rooms are large. we arrived at 9pm for one night during a lay over. the check in staff was very nice and gave us a good room but it wasnt clean. there were no sheets on the bed and you could tell the room had not been finished cleaning. we called for sheets and were told no one was there to make the bed but sheets would be brought […] to us. a guy came and dropped off one sheet.... thats it. we had to call again for someone to bring all the bed linens and it took about 30 min. we were tired and ready to go to bed. it was a comfy hotel and seemed to be in a lively location. Property is beat up... The king bed w/ ocean view was actually two twins looking at other high rises... Staff was really good however.

Booked through Hotels.com. Asked for early check in and highest floor possible. After 19 days of cruising the high seas, we wanted terra firma under our feet. The early check in turned out to be 3.30 in the aftrenoon but the room - WOW ! On the 22nd floor with an ocean and marina view. Largest hotel room I have ever stayed n. the bath and dressing room […] alone were larger than our cabin on the cruise ship/ Th bed, oh the bed, the largest bed I've ever slept in. Could not wish for a better bed. Staff at reception were excellent, especially Tammy. Not really that close to the beach but the Hilton Village lagoon is close by and the pool is adequate. Had lunch at the patio restaurant - giant portions, food is good. Plenty of restaurants in close proximity to hotel . Unbeatable prices - best value in Waikiki. I'd go back tomorrow if I could. Great view and great location. Within walking distance of everything. Room was comfortable and clean. Parking very expensive.

The concierge was very accommodating in letting us check in two hours early. They did not have a late check-out available because our room was a condo and the owner was coming to stay. It was a nice room with comfortable outdoor chairs on the balcony overlooking the Hilton lagoon. The Ocean View was not quite as full as I was expecting but we could […] indeed see the ocean. Other hotels blocked Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach for the most part. This is a great hotel but was a pretty far walk to the main drag of Waikiki. Wonderful stay!!! We stayed for two nights and the room and the beach view were fantastic....Would recommend to anyone!!!

This hotel was in a good location and was clean and comfortable. It is a good hotel for the price. The pictures are a bit misleading - it is not exactly right on the beach - there is a 3 minute walk to get to the beach. This hotel has wonderful big rooms, a very friendly staff and is within walking distance of many Honolulu sites. Very pleasant stay!

Very nice hotel Parking is expensive if you have a car and there does not appear to be an alternative to their valet service.

Stayed here for 2 nights while on the way to Kauai, and found the hotel to be a great deal. While not directly on the beach we had a wonderful ocean view, and a couple minute walk to to the top of Waikiki beach. Great for little kids as the lagoon is very close by. Also can enjoy the Hilton restaurants and shops. Not as fancy as Hilton or Sheraton but […] in walking distance to everything and right on the bus line. Would stay again. Devamı

Very nice hotel, excellent rooms (very large and comfortable). Very dead for things to do in the evening at this hotel. I noticed that many people were not able to get a chair or lounger at your pool.

Good size room, great view of water. Fantastic Italian restaurant ("Sorrento") on top floot for fine dining, offering 15% to guests of hotel, with excellent food, service and view. Only draw back was AC unit blows directly on king bed underneath it, making it difficult to sleep with such strong air currents blowing on yoru heads. Hotel needs some repairs. The washrooms off ot the lobby were in bad shape. Room was fine and it was clean. All in all it was good value for price paid.

Not top-of-the-line, but much more than acceptable. Service varied from poor to excellent, very uneven. But the value of this hotel is definitely there. BIG rooms, some with nice ocean views. A little worn and not in the heart of things, but overall very good. I'd stay there again.

our rooms were extremely comfortable! a great hotel within walking distance to anything you may need even with and infant, we had our stroller and walked around every where, the staff were helpful and friendly! We will continue to stay @ the ilikai resort on oahu!

The Ilikai was a very nice place to stay. Room was clean; non-smoking was adhered to; staff was friendly.

We had a very spacious room with a King size bed. We were very close to a number of restaurants of all price ranges. The hotel food was reasonably priced and good. Friday night they hosted Hawaiian music with Hula dancers and a torch lighting ceremony which added to the Hawaiian atmosphere. It was most enjoyable. I stayed at the Ilikai when it was undergoing some construction about a year ago. Now, the rooms are gorgeous, the linens soft, the beds comfortable, and no construction in sight! The staff was friendly, there is a hula show and fireworks every Friday night. We went to the restaurant at the top, which was very pricey, but the food was amazing. The only […] thing I wasn't keen on at the restaurant was the waiters tended to hover, so if you took a sip of your water, they were right there to fill your glass up again ... after just about every sip! Great place to stay in Honolulu. Easy access to everything, beach, restaurants, shopping but quiet. Would stay there again. Don't need to rent a car!!

Overall the hotel was very accomodating. The room was large, comfortable, and spacious. The hotel is located in a great area near restaurants, the mall, and convenience stores. The continental breakfast was not much as it is the case for most hotels, but it turned out to be filling and satisfying with the food items included. The beach is just a short […] walk away which made it that much nicer to stay at. Overall this hotel turned out better than expected for the rate I payed. I would definitely reccomend it to anyone. If you choose to stay here, look for a sale on rooms before reserving, otherwise the hotel is merely a fair value. Check-in service was not exceptional, I was a half hour early for their 3 pm check-in policy. Many hotels I've stayed at had rooms ready by then, this one did not. I needed to wait another 40 minutes, and then when I went to the room, […] the chambermaid's cart was blocking the door as she was still cleaning. I had to wait another two or so minutes. Throughout my stay, I frequently popped in and out of the room during the day (for example to change/clean up from the beach), and the room was never made up until after 3 pm. Another odd thing was that a bath mat was provided on the first night, but never since. I had to use the spare towel as a bath mat. The room was well-appointed: TV, quiet air-conditioner, in-room safe, firm bed with nice linens, mini-fridge, coffeemaker; and also well kept. There was however a largish stain on the carpet about the size of a dinner plate. Parking was valet for $18/night with in/out priveleges. You can find alternative parking, but since I used the car extensively, and I was there for a short time, I didn't want to waste time looking for parking. Valet service was efficient (less than a minute) and friendly. Devamı

I had a room on the 24th floor overlooking the ocean, could watch the sailboats come in and of the harbor and the surfers. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. The bath was large enought that it was divided in half with one side having a shower and the other a bathtub. There was 3 major chain restaurants within a block. As everywhere in Hawaii […] parking was a little pricie but it was a underground lot and they parked it for you. They were really quick nevering waited more than a couple minutes for my car. Great location with eazy access to the main road. Was very please with my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. Devamı

Reasonably sized rooms with ocean views don't compensate for a mediocre breakfast, outdated decor, minimal atmosphere and limited frills. Stay if you can get a deeply discounted room. If not, there are better hotels in Waikiki.
