Courtyard by Marriott Mahwah - Mahwah

My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although […] the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year. Devamı

the hotel was perfect. the staff even more so... especially in the lobby where our group spent most of their time.

WE WERE GUESTS AT THIS HOTEL FOR 4 DAYS. FOR THE MOST PART, THE STAFF MADE EVERY EFFORT TO ACCOMODATE OUR NEEDS.. BECAUSE MY HUSBAND IS DEAF, WE NEEDED THE CLOSED CAPTIONING ON THE TV. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE CAPTIONING NEEDED REPROGRAMING...AND TOOK A FEW HOURS UNTIL THEY FOUND SOMEONE WHO COULD DO THIS.) HOWEVER, .THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO WHEN […] WE RETURNED LATE ONE EVENING TO FIND THE BED UNMADE AND THE ROOM UNTOUCHED. WE WERE GIVEN CLEAN TOWELS....BUT MADE THE BED OURSELVES AND WIPED DOWN THE SHOWER AND SINK AS BEST WE COULD. NO GESTURE WAS MADE TO ADJUST OUR CHARGES FOR THE INCONVENIENCES. ALTHOUGH BASICALLY,THE ROOM WAS COMFORTABLE, I THINK THAT THE PLACEMENT OF THE TV ON THE WALL ON THE SIDE OF THE BED WAS POORLY DESIGNED SINCE TRYING TO WATCH THE SCREEN IN BED (EVEN WITH THE SWIVEL SHELF), WAS NOT TOO COMFORTABLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL BUT WITH A FEW RESERVATIONS. Devamı

They've recently remodeled this Hotel and the new look and feel is wonderful. Very clean and orderly, the new food bar is great, a welcome addition.

Really a great place and very clean! If you are going to NYC and dont mind the 30 min drive, this is your place!

They were remodeling the hotel on 8/13/11 the lobby area was a bit inconvenient. The breakfast was not included but it is affordable. I received some weird charges from the hotel on my account, one for $0.50, another for $10.00 and yet another one for less than a dollar too. I just find it suspicious, and I'm not aware of what these transactions are […] for. so BEWARE when you go to the hotel, be careful with the charges they make on your card. Devamı

The hotels lobby was being remodeled when we stayed there, so we had to enter through a side door, which was a little awkward but really not that bad. The room was very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was also very clean. The TV would not work no matter what we tried, and the bed was as hard as a rock, I think I could have slept better on the couch. […] My husband and I both tossed and turned all night, I woke up probably every hour. Perhaps they should add some pillow tops or something. Overall I would stay again, it was a nice hotel and there was a nice side door to get outside close to our room. Devamı

I've stayed in several Courtyard by Marriot hotels. I am generally happy with them. I brought my family to this location for a couple days to unwind, use the pool and jaccusi. This particular Courtyard was a bit dreary, the breakfast was overpriced and bad, and the jaccusi was barely warm. There was a power outage for several hours the second day so […] we sat in the dark with no heat and could not use the facilities. Although the power outtage was not their fault, I kind of hoped they would offer some compensation since I'm the one paying to sit in the cold darkness. Nothing was offered, which I find a bit lame. On the plus side the cleaning staff was nice and it is close to Bear mountain NY. I would not recommend it as a get-a-way, family destination, but it's fine for a place to sleep.... Devamı

hotel is in the middle of nowhere with no stores nearby. also cant turn left to get back to highway due to jersey barriers, have to go a mile or two down to turn around. other than that it was clean, the food was horrible and expensive and the crew wasnt extremely responsive. i'm being harsh, it wasnt that bad, just average, not worth the price tho […] ugh. Our stay at this motel was excellent. I was dropping my daughter off at a local college and arrived early. Early check-in was not a problem. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Not easy to go from Rt 17S to Rt 17N. Would also be nice if breakfast was included. Most motels/inns are doing that now.

conveniently located for our visit to Ramapo College. Stayed one night, but for longer stays, should have refrigerator in room! Made use of pool and hot tube - very nice!

nice hotel, within 4 miles of a TGIF and a Chiles. Dunkin Donuts next door. Had our son with us and the pool was handy, clean and not too cold (some hotels keep the pool water very cold). A puddle of water was in our bathroom - wiped it up and it cam right back. Called hotel and they were out in two minutes. Couldn't fix it right then and couldn't put […] us in another room because they said they were booked. Was going to give us $40 off our room, but when he went to process it, he said he couldn't because we booked through hotels.com. He did give us two vouchers for a free bruch. Bruch was good. Devamı

The man behind the counter gave me a shuttle ride to a local restaurant when I could not get a cab.

Hi All, We just spent the weekend at this hotel and overall it was very nice. Since we booked it through hotel dot com we got a great rate. The only short fall is the lay out is such that the cheap rooms all run parallel to a very busy highway and there is more then some road noise. still for the money i was very happy.

it exceeded my expectations. i thought that it would be like a "cleaner version" of motels but it's more than that.

This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel and it was great. They were able to check us in at 8am, so we could drop off bags, etc before heading out for our function. They were very accomodating! The only negative part was that one of our rooms had a faint cigarette smell, but we found housekeeping and they came and immediately sprayed a frebreeze […] like substance. Devamı

The room was exceptionally clean, as was the bathroom. Nothing needed repair. Hotel staff was friendly. Quite a place for the price! I would recommend this to anyone who wants a convenient location, good hotel at a reasonable cost. The only negative was with breakfast. Although buffet was very good, we would have had to wait 30 minutes for an "off […] the menu" selection, so we opted for the buffet. When you only want a bagle, it's expensive to pay a buffet price, but food was good, so worth it. Devamı
