Jekyll Oceanfront Clarion Resort - Jekyll Island

Extensive construction is underway on the Island. No clear instructions for the detour route were provided. The Lobby and banquet space was adequate; however, the lodging area is in need of extensive renovations to upgrade lodging, bathrooms in particular.

The staff was courteous. The hotel is older but they have updated everything pretty well. This is not the Ritz but you're 50 yards from the beach and the price can't be beat! We'll stay here again for sure!

Not only was this room in disrepair, but the amenities were not what were promised. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Three of the electrical outlets were pulled from the walls. One outlet did not work at all. The shower head was broken as was the tub drain. To flush the toilet we had to hold the lever until it emptied completely. I asked […] two different maintenance men for assistance and they said that there was nothing they could do. When I went to the front desk, the receptionist stated that there were no other rooms available that weekend. There was not a microwave or a refrigerator, which was a need of mine since I was traveling with a 9 month old who is on formula and a 10yr old. I think there may have been some inappropriate activites going on in the room across from ours because we had 3 different men knock on our door looking for a specific woman between the hours of 11pm and 4am. After they realized that the woman they were looking for was across the hall, we had to turn on the tv extremely loud to cover the loud inappropriate noises that were coming from across the hall. It was the worst room I have ever stayed on on Jekyll Island. I have been traveling down to Jekyll Island every year since my senior year in high school, which has been 15 years now. I was not impressed with the hotel its self. I majorly needs a redo and needs to better clean their rooms. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. I would expect alot more of a room of this price. Even though it isnt a high price for the state of the rooms it needs to be lower priced or meet higher standards

The room that we were put in was dirty, smelly and had dead roaches on the floor.

Great room for the money. If your looking to layout at the beach and not have to drive, you might want to pick adifferent hotel. Overall very nice for the price!

It was right on the beach. A great escape. The rooms and building are older, but clean. And of course the primo location more than makes up for the aging buildings. The beds were comfy and we slept well.

The hotel on first sight was a disappointment from pictures on the website and hotel brochures! The room was smaller than described-the carpet and walls were not in the best shape. Our fridge was rusted and the cable was out 2 of the 3 days. I was also nervous before we purchased this room because one review commented on the view and access of the […] beach. I however found this to be the best thing about the hotel. We were able to walk right out of our room and go directly to the beach. There was a rock barrier we had to walk through, but it was our own private beach area. It was not dirty...it was a relaxing view. The staff was helpful when we needed them and when you order room service...they send a lot of food (it's enough to share)! Overall, the price was ok...buty if you don't have to stay right on the beach...there are cheaper places. We decided we would stay here again, but not expect as much as we did out of the hotel! Rooms are in need of an update, as they appear 30 to 40 years out of date. Beds were small, but room was clean. Hotel staff was very nice. The location offers beach front rooms, but the beach on the north end of the island has large rocks to stop erosion. So during high tide, the ocean breaks on the rocks and limits access to the beach. The island […] is a beautiful place to visit. Also be aware that you must pay $3 to park on the island even if you have a room. The restaurants on the island are also expensive so you may want yo bring your food in with you. Tip: While you are there, make sure you visit the Georgia Sea Turtle Center that is on the island. Also take the time to drive around the entire island and visit the south end beaches. One added reason to visit... from May to July the sea turtles nest on the beach. You may with to check with the Sea Turtle center before you plan you visit to pick the best time. Devamı

The outside looks great. Freshly painted buildings, nice lobby. Hotel had, however, had very old style rooms, tiny bath with no ventilation, and carpet with way too much "freshener". A rock sea wall prevented getting to the beach. Could hear noise from those in room above ours. Not worth the price.
